Just noticed after 11 years the crowd was kind of empty for a final match not many people was in the stadium. Can just imagine how many more titles Sharapova would have won if it wasn't for Serena.
The sabalenka choking at the two match points on igas weak second serve reminds me this match I am a staunch fan of Sharapova, but imagine if prime serena was at the place of aryna against iga what could be the result?
Iga plays top spin on most of her shots. I’m thrilled to think what players like Lindsay Davenport or Maria Sharapova or prime Venus would have done to her game in general. I also think she wouldn’t have troubled Serena that much.
@@krishnakumar2390Sam Stosur & Jelena Jankovic is a terrible example because both ladies aren't the best offensive players & they are more of a defensive player. Iga is more like Henin. She's an offensive player & she also has henin all court game. Great defense, great slice, great volleys & lots of top spin, etc. Do remember that power players were having a lot of trouble figuring out Henin's game back then. Even Serena had a lot of trouble with Henin back then. I am not saying that Henin was a better player than these power play girls or vice versa. But she was a worthy competitor to all of them. Also, Jankovic & Stosur never had Iga's or Henin's mental toughness. They can never win multiple grand slams because they always crumble under pressure. Stosur in the beginning did give Serena a lot of trouble eventhough she doesn't have Iga's talent & nowhere near Iga's mental toughness. Do remember that somebody like Stosur was destroyed multiple times but somebody like Azarenka. She was nowhere near Iga's level. Lastly I dont think Jankovic is even in Iga, Henin or Stosur league when it comes to producing powerful top spins. So I don't think she of all players are a fair comparison to Iga. Iga would have still been a worthy competitor to players like Serena, Venus, Maria, Davenport, etc. People like to trash the current generation of women's tennis so much which I find ridiculous. Right now to me is among the best era in women's tennis ever. Also do consider somebody like Iga & Coco are super2 young and they have not reached their peak yet. It is only going to get better in the future.
@@secrets.295 iga was owned by Jelena Ostapenko a non top tenner and rybakina owns ur iga too, imagine if she played against serena era players, she would be out of top 50 for sure. Iga has no mental toughness, iga is definitely not henin, henin barely responded to any of igas achievements anytime before I mean no legends for that matter, gauff is a school girl tennis player won a slam by fluke against inconsistent sabalenka. I say this always wta is always with the big three forever Serena Venus Maria.
