    I still feel that this subtle awareness is just mind and that it’s looking at itself

      Experience can never be anything but your human body experiencing, and attention (consciousness, God, etc.) itself includes what you call mind. So really, yes, you are stuck. The question is: what then? The contemplative state naturally arises when you've 'given up.' It's a beautiful thing. Feel all your feelings ❤

      This is because of of deep identification with the mind. You are Not the body or the mind/ego, but the Timeless Witness/Awareness…. Misidentification is rooted in a lifetime of conditioning that you are your mind!(Advaita 101)

      So what?.. Let it be, keep on looking at it until mind become no-mind. When the I disappear into itself. Just like when the shadow disappear into the object that causes the shadow... When Sun of the Self (Atma) is at its zenith.

    Dear Sunny,
    Aren't you using the mind to explain what you are experiencing?
    So how can you differentiate what is and what is not the mind without using the mind?

    • @louisegarner8888
      @louisegarner8888 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, and it starts of with a "Don't think about a pink elephant" style approach that plants what you DON'T want into your subconscious and continues with "are you not.."
      The subconscious responds to commands and directives in a very neutral manner. This would be better for journalling while awake I'm thinking, which isn't meditating (where you empty your mind of thoughts, detachedly viewimg them as passing clouds). 🙃

    Hi, i really like your videos, one think i cannot understand about these "you're not your mind/not the thinker" things, is that if we are just the awareness of these thoughts, then what we decide to think about, what we feel that we are "a good person, kind, friendly" is not us too. Cause these are thoughts too. Even what we decide to do, how we behave, its all fake... its not "us". If you want decide how you want to act, you have to identify yourself with good or bad things, cause who decides what is good or bad? Thats a thought too. So you have to identify yourself with the good thoughts that makes you happy.

    I inquire where is this me , who possess the thoughts? But the guilt for the arguing thoughts is still there. What should I do in this case?

    Subtle thoughts sneak in or come up and take me over many times until I notice and snap out of it.
    If in my head I try to speak slower and more purposeful with my thoughts I can much easier become aware of them and not let them take over, but it’s hard to keep doing.

    • @selfinquiryschool

      You are not something that thinks. You do not “do” thinking. You are simply aware, and thoughts appear and disappear in your seeing.

    it is self-evident MIND can and does analysis itself, it's own thinking. EXAMPLE ("Well, I can fix that a different way..."). There need be no OBSERVER or AWARENESS besides the mind itself. All the teachings that, "I am not the mind," may be just nonsense. The mind, seeing problems, can train itself to 1. Have no way life must go. 2. Do your best for the joy of doing your best. 3. Regardless of the outcome, receive it with thankfulness. "Just an idea for youse-all."

    I definitely sense something too subtle to describe, and I can rest in it for what seems, comparatively, a short duration. Is this entirely self-confirming, or is there a way to test or verify it objectively?

    • @selfinquiryschool

      How can you objectify that which observes? What are you in relation to it? Are you not aware AS that? :)

  • @deelin100

    Hello Sunny thank you so much for such a clear pointing. So who I am , the knowing awareness doesn’t mind or care anything about the known experiences?
    The awareness doesn’t mind the suffering of the individual body mind and allows for any range of experiences without saying no to anything that arises in experience. Is there a place for a ‘no’ in awareness?

    I have a question if I am the observer does that not mean that I observing something? Thus isn’t that duality between the observer and the observed?

    • @ruxandracojocaru876
      @ruxandracojocaru876 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Correct. But settling as the observer, dissolving mind identification frees the mind and the witness dissolves too. The Observer is an intermediary stage . Using the mind to let go the mind.

    • @stephanscharf5524
      @stephanscharf5524 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The statement of I am the observer is just a thought. But as soon as it arises, there is duality again. But what happens in the gaps between thoughts? Where is there an I? It is pure presence which was never lost, but forgotten.
