Mon Laferte is a Chilean born singer who now resides in and is a citizen of Mexico. She is an amazing performer who records in a countless number of styles and genres, including Rock, Pop, Salsa, Bolero, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Opera, and many more. This song was inspired by a Japanese novel she was reading while on tour in 2017. The song was written and recorded in the Japanese musical style called "Enka", and sung here in Spanish. The following year she recorded a version in which she sings in perfect Japanese. She released a video of that version as well. She has a tremendously rich and varied catalog that I invite you to sample further.
