Even if the migrant crisis ends right now, those hotels will no longer be considered luxury hotels. The fame, quality and value of these hotels has been completely destroyed.

Those hotels are a major contributor to the NYC economy and tourism. Tourist won't want to visit NYC with migrants raging and hanging out all over, homelessness, out of control violence and crime, thieves, high end stores being raided in broad daylight, transportation worries and no good hotels for the out of towners.

Nobody is going to care about remodeling. The problem is they were all used as homeless shelters and refugee waypoints for international indigent peoples. Hotels being clean and hygienic is the first concern for any customer, and for good reason. After all this? Nobody is going to pay to risk it. Not a chance in hell. You better believe that I will look up and double check any hotel to see if it was ever used in this manner before booking a room.

It's the same here, and many hotels and accommodation given to them for free,have been set on fire as not up to their standards. Constantly complain about the food. Don't have to clean their own rooms. The list can go on. Meanwhile I've worked all my life and am struggling on a pension, have to pay my own rent and shopping, have to cook and clean for myself, pay my own travel costs and get the total of zero for free. At 1:55 one shocking thing about this report is that the New York State government is paying to HOME SCHOOL migrant children in the hotels if their parents decide they don't want to send them to the public schools. WHAT! That is outrageous. American citizens aren't given free "home school" teachers or funding if they don't want to send their children to the public schools. American parents still have to pay school taxes for the public schools that their kids don't even use AND the parents have to pay all of the home schooling expenses on top of the taxes. This is an outrage!

Cleaning companies, hotels, restaurants, construction companies, landscape companies, etc... they pay them under the table cheaper than they pay Americans. They take the checks to the check cashing place. I have seen American citizens laid off to hire in more illegal immigrants. I have also seen illegal immigrants getting public assistance for years and years. This scheme has been going in forever and a day. It is just now because of the mass influx. People are really seeing it.

I worked security at a nice hotel at the end of the pandemic, so prices were lower, and the people who basically moved in for a while tended to create more work for the staff than the business or vacation people. Other than snacks and stuff, it was generally set up so that people would eat at the hotel's restaurant. I fully agree that these days, you need to move out of a city and stop paying taxes to it as soon as you realize they are wasting tax dollars. Corrupt politicians don't care about the voters and tax payers once a city has enough activists and ignorant people to guarantee their reelection.
Just imagine the feces on the floor due to them not knowing what a toilet is.

My father worked at some apartments that had some immigrants move in well he got a complaint of smoke so when he got there guess what he found. They were cooking in the stove but they were burning wood in it lol They ruined the stove and could’ve killed everyone.

This is exactly what happened with section 8 vouchers once a pristine house begin taking section 8 guaranteed money and most of the time the rent is double because of the voucher the worker would tell the renter You have a 2K budget When none of the apartments are being rented at that price The landlord would ask the tenant what's the budget and say okay I would take you for 2K But the real rent is $800 dollar And then they never repair the place at all pocketing everything and only fix what's mandatory to pass code for the social worker sometimes the landlord will pay the social worker to pass the yearly or biyearly inspection. But the government is willing to pay about too much oversight

I can not afford food, my bill are just getting covered with less important late, no outings, not cable, no inter besides cell coverage. Very minimal shelter. I've had an excellent work history, no drugs or arrest, or help from welfare. Im disabled now and live on 11,000 a year! In what world do we need to pay 350 a night for people and starve ourself?
