Hey Chris this one is a great one, I've been wearing this one since it came out I believe back in 2016. The rum note is fantastic, overall a really good cologne for the asking price. It has this mature but yet modern vibe.
@scentland4753 I want to thank you for your reviews, i have in last 18 months started to slowly build a collection and i really like the way you convey the notes you smell and the feeling the fragrances envoke for you. I have bought 2 fragrances based on your reviews (Acqua di Pina and Jeanne en Provence Acqua) both of which i love, so thankyou. One question on this, trying to understand performance, first video you mentioned satisfactory this one you said good, how does it project and last for you ? Thanks from me another Chris 😊
Hi there Chris, Perhaps you could help me out with a question. Since you are one of very few here on TH-cam who made a review about the fragrance called Versace Versus Uomo. You see, a while back I got my hands on a miniature version of this fragrance. When I applied this on paper, the smell was a fresh, mild fruity, mango like smell with a strong woody pine / fir type smell in the base drydown. However afterwards, I got another miniature, but this time the smell was much different, smelling like a powdery lemon smell with a hint of artificial blueberry of somesort without the fir / piney woody aspects. Confusing as this was I decided to test this fragrance from two full bottles, but these had a very strong bitter opening, very sharp and not appealing, almost as if had turned bad. They we're similair in smell to a fragrance from the brand Iceberg, called Iceberg Fluid year 2000 if you know it and had a bit of a Versace Baby Blue Jeans hint in the scent. So now I am confused a bit what this fragrance is supposed to smell like. Can you describe a bit how this fragrance is supposed to smell? I am not sure, though I think this fragrance is maybe very sensitive to turning or changing rather quickly.. Hope you can inform. Thanks a lot. Regards
@@chicos2993 hi yes! The smell is of tart citruses, woody, fresh yet dark and has the fir/pine backbone. I had ones that turned bad also, the fluid turned oily and the smell deteriorated and became bitter.
@@scentland4753 yes exactly, the ones from the bottles opened up extremely bitter, something as if you mixed up burned tobacco with alcohol, very sharp and non pleasing, nothing like the miniatures. But nice to know the fir/pine woody smell should be included, because this is what was the magic for me with this fragrance. Now just have to see if it is still possible to get a bottle with an intact smell!
@@scentland4753 much appreciate the recommendation. Though I reside in The Netherlands getting a fragrance from North America is a pain with customs. Do you by any means have a European address you can recommend that carries these type of gem fragrances?
