Here is the issue I have with the FT03S...It is 134 dollars an some change, and for less than 160 dollars I got a MF04 with 2416 meters of rated throw. The FT03 SST40-W is rated about 875 meters and is often less than 40 bucks. I just can't see this as being good to fill the gap at that price. It was an easy choice to spend an extra 25 bucks to get the MF04 instead. If it had been under 100 dollars, it would have been a hard choice, but I would likely have gotten both. It is over 3 times the price of the FT03 SST40-W, and the MF04 was only about 4 times that price. Nice thrower, but it is not the MF04, and it is almost as high priced.
Are you serious? This but a candle compared to the R90TS. The R90TS is for people who want an absolute overkill of a thrower+flood. And on lower power levels it's battery lasts forever. Totally different purpose. Though I think the best is actually the R90C.
Excellent review, as always! I did wish that you'd included the original FT03 with the SST40, but no matter as the XHP50.2 version is a higher-lumen comparison. I still don't think that this is a good host for this emitter, however; too many compromises for such a high-dollar emitter.
Wish you could have compared the night watch stalker 90.2 with this light! Great vid! Good good price for light with built in charging! I still need to grab 1 of these. I picked up a few wurkkos ts30s 90.2. Great little lights...
could someone help me. I have the astrolux ft03, I'm using a sofirn 26650 mah, 25a, discharge battery. My question is, this battery can use all the power of the flashlight?
ive ordered it from banggood for 110 notes and ive got the green 50.2 and come with there c3 battery all for 38 notes i will wait and see when the s version arrives
What would you say the best half throw half flood light is? Looking for something to light up the yard abd blind an intruder, but also not be too huge and awkward. This light seems to have the right beam pattern
Greetings to you sir, your videos are simply amazing as you know. I'm looking to purchase the Astrolux FT03S in blue, through your BG link listed in the description, but the code listed that I'm attempting to use is telling me it's invalid... Are you able to provide a working discount code? If it's not too much trouble, I'd also like your link please to the Samsung 21700 40T... Everything I've learned from your vids it's important to me that you get credit... Thanks very kindly
At 4000lm it would consume about 40Watt (assuming 100lm/Watt) A 4000mAh battery at 3.6V has a capacity of 14.4Wh. So on full power this flashlight would last about 22 minutes. (14.5/40*60) It wouldn’t be able to deliver full power continuously and throttle down so I guess the battery would last about an hour. Am I far off?
Great video as always but I've got the 50.2 FTO3 it's great and have the FTO3S on order from banggood but it cost me 109 notes where as the 4300 lumen 50.2 I got mine in green cost me 42 notes with the c3 battery and the s supposed to have a 1428 metre throw compared to the 50.2,S 735 I hope it's more powerful cause don't look much better than the 50.2
I would cancel it and wait till they fix the issues if I were you. The reflector doesnt perform as good as the old one and mine steps down in 20 seconds with a fully charged high drain cell. At 80% output I can run it for 4 minutes no problem. There seems to be some issue with the driver. Maybe an overheating component.
helo man! the Astro ft03s arrive from Bang but on box writes the sh55 led but inside the instr. manual writes sbt90; and the torches look the same i guess so i donno what they sended to me! you have a quick idea how can i know which is it? [ i doubt is a sbt 90 only] ;? help!

Love all your reviews. Wish I could get these high powered lights from amazon or some other company though. Banggood has screwed up 3 of my last five orders. They can't successfully ship their items. They keep coming up with some BS about customs issues.
Very good review. Up to what did you adjust the thermo temp limit? What is the default thermo temp limit when received? What I noticed it stepping stupidly quick. What Samsung 21700 T30 or T40 will be the best to use?
Dear FLASHAHOLICS, I am contacting you for advice. You wrote that you sold your FT03 SST40 because of the small light. In your video, I noticed that the FT03 50.2 shines very well. I did not see much difference with the FT03S light. Is it a video camera to blame for shooting video, or is the difference really small? Please give me some advice. Can I make dedom FT03 50.2, and be satisfied? Because FT03S upset me around the world. For the high price, I expected a wow ... This difference is justified by a 30% increase in price. But the price is increased by 250%. Tell me, does it make sense to enjoy the FT03 50.2, and forget the FT03S for the space price? I really hope that you will understand my questions. Thank you for all your video reviews.
The Spill on the FT03S is slightly brighter than the FT03 and the beam is slightly smaller but brighter. Subtle differences but the FT03S has 400m extra throw which is about 50m to the naked eye
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Thank you very much!Listening to the video instructions, sounded very complicated... But, now I'm realized it's quite easier than I thought...(^^).
Yeah it'll throw very well and still have more power than the SST40, be interesting to see how many lumens it does lose though, I think the XHP70 used to be around a 20% loss
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV thank you 🙂 Then i wont use it with that much power more. It was fun the minute i tested it😀 Lighted up completely a mountain top 1200 meters from my house😅

It's a SONY A6300 it has a few weaknesses though, red reproduction is slightly orange and motion handling isn't great. It has one of the worlds fastest auto focuses which is very helpful for keeping up with changing brightness.

@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV didn't stop me from ordering one with the osram w1 led, hank now has xhp35hi and sbt90.2 options on the K1, and the D4v2 MULE is impressive but gets hot even in Muggle mode it's not safe 😁
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV How come? I really don't know much about flashlights, I really just want to find a great throwy light to impress my friends and right now it is between this and the K1. Honestly I'm leaning towards the k1 because I like how the flashlight body looks, especially in the cream color, but if this light is better in your opinion then it might sway me towards this one! Thanks.
And also I would be using it in the forest and the beach so some floodiness could be cool too. Right now im looking at the k1 with the sbt-90 emitter because a different video was comparing the beams between the sbt-90 and the w1. sbt90 looked better to my eyes.
He says 18 of these leds in a mf01s would be interesting, but pricey...nope! I happen to have that light, and that thing gets crazy hot quickly with the 18 led's it already has. I am talking cooking breakfast over it kind of hot. The light just does not have enough surface area to run cool enough with the 15000 lumens it already has. Don't get me wrong, I like that light a lot, and it is an impressive flood. I wish it was better at handling that heat it generates.
@@swifty1321 I never said it did...I said it gets very hot quickly with the led's it already has, which are much less powerful and less hot than sbt90.2 lights would be. Also 18 sbt90.2 would draw too many amps for any batteries in it. The Imalent MS-18 has the less powerful XHP 70 led's, and has 18 of them to put out 100000 lumens. It needs 8 20700 4300mah batteries built-in to do that for a bit before cutting back to 25000 lumens. 18 of the 90.2 leds that have but one of in the FT03S, would not be interesting or pricey if put into the MF01S light. It would be inoperable. I said the MF01S, which I have already gets too hot too quickly with the stock led's. I also have the FT03S being reviewed. It gets hot as well, but not like the MF01S that currently is 15000 lumens. I have no idea how you read what I posted to make you think I said I had one with 18 of the 90.2 led's in it, but read it again. That is why I said in the first post the 18 led's it ALREADY has. The next sentence I again said the 15000 lumens it ALREADY has. Saying I happen to have one of these lights was referring to the MF01S...not configured like he was saying. Nobody does, or even can, have a functional version of the MF01S with 18 of the 90.2 led's, not with that size head, or the same battery sources. If you increased everything on the MF01S to do so, it would no longer look anything like the MF01S.
@@swifty1321 Footnote to previous post...the sbt90.2 draws a maximum 60 watts vs the 29 watts of the 70.2. So 18 of the 60 watt led's would draw 1080 watts or 290+ amps @3.7v. I suspect you would need at least 10 3.7v Li-ion batteries...maybe 12. The head would have to be massive to handle the heat, and the led chip itself would not even physically fit in a MF01S. My stock MF01S has 1 added feature. I screwed a handle on the tripod mount because it burns my hand to hold it long. It just gets way too hot already. Heck of a flood from a coke can sized light though.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV But the thermal sensor isn't at the led so that wouldn't be the case. No thermal compound would mean it's not dispersing into the body and the head wouldn't heat up. It would just burn up the led. On a thrower I always turn off the temp setting and go by feel. Wish you recorded the temp at step down
@@ilovelife18 the sensor will be receiving quickly built up heat that should have been transferred away from it through the large body. Temp at 1st step-down was negligible.
I live in Pennsylvania and I've ordered 11 flashlights in the past 3 months and 8 of them have arrived. 3 are still on the way, but they were ordered at the end of December and on January 8th. So it will be sometime in February until they get delivered. Orders usually take 4-6 weeks to be delivered. Unfortunately if you want the lights, you need to have patience and just wait. I even ordered 8 Samsung and 4 Panasonic 18650 batteries, and 2 Shockli 26650 batteries back in October, and they got delivered. It was 2 different orders. But the last 2 Shockli 26650 batteries that I ordered in late November have been returned to Banggood twice now, so if they get returned this time, I'll just get a refund. They gave me the option to have them resent or get a refund each time. I really can't complain about Banggood's service. Packages do take a long time to arrive, but it's not always Banggood's fault. Are you serious? This but a candle compared to the R90TS. The R90TS is for people who want an absolute overkill of a thrower+flood. And on lower power levels it's battery lasts forever. Totally different purpose. Though I think the best is actually the R90C.
Astrolux ft03s and acebeam L19, which 1 better, thanks
What does "IPX7 do not submerge" mean? IPX7 / 8 require complete immersion in water.
ASTROLUX recommend not to fully submerge the light.
wurkkos TS30S would be interesting if you would test
Excellent review, as always! I did wish that you'd included the original FT03 with the SST40, but no matter as the XHP50.2 version is a higher-lumen comparison. I still don't think that this is a good host for this emitter, however; too many compromises for such a high-dollar emitter.
I sold the SST40 as a light this big needs more lumens! I got the same range from the smaller Cometa!!!
Wish you could have compared the night watch stalker 90.2 with this light! Great vid! Good good price for light with built in charging!
I still need to grab 1 of these. I picked up a few wurkkos ts30s 90.2. Great little lights...

I have the astrolux ft03, I'm using a sofirn 26650 mah, 25a, discharge battery. My question is, this battery can use all the power of the flashlight?

No, it's a 20p pop carton!
The biggest problem with the FT03S is the FT03 which can be had for £26 in the sales vs £110 for this version. Its a no-brainer to buy the FT03.
Yeah up to 300m it was neck and neck. Over that needs the FT03S or SST40

Nice. I love the Anduril option. I have 8 lights with that UI so far, but since I already have the FT03 I'll pass on this one. Great review as always!
I love Anduril too, I just with Toykeeper could fix muggle mode.
Which is better, this Astrolux FT 03S, or the Olight Warrior & Turbo(1100 Lumen, 1000m)?
Warrior is better quality but this one has the performance and bonkers UI.

Does this flashlight work as power bank?
Mister,Coba compare sama Convoy L7 SBT90.2 😁
At 4000lm it would consume about 40Watt (assuming 100lm/Watt)
A 4000mAh battery at 3.6V has a capacity of 14.4Wh.
So on full power this flashlight would last about 22 minutes. (14.5/40*60)
It wouldn’t be able to deliver full power continuously and throttle down so I guess the battery would last about an hour.
Am I far off?
Probably 10hours, step-down is usually very aggressive on Anduril lights
I will take my chances it's already been shipped I will let you know how I get on with it 👍

@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV thats it, you made me decide that I should get it, the 50m and thicker beam is what I needed

What if I dedome the 50.2 ? Should get similar performance like the 90.2 with less throw but still good.
Yeah it'll throw very well and still have more power than the SST40, be interesting to see how many lumens it does lose though, I think the XHP70 used to be around a 20% loss

astrolux ft03s is the same as mateminco mt90?
Yes. I have mateminco mt90. Great flashlight. Powerful for the size.
I'm afraid you don't... The astrolux mf01s doesn't have 18 sbt90.2 led's in it lol... It has 18 sst20's in it 👍🏼
@@swifty1321 I never said it did...I said it gets very hot quickly with the led's it already has, which are much less powerful and less hot than sbt90.2 lights would be.
Thanks

Many of these FT03S are delivered without thermal compound. I hope that this problem will be solved in future.
Probably explains the very fast step downs
