Renting a house has been a dream of ours for many years now, and in this video I wanted to share my excitement by showing you the house makeover we did on a budget. I hope you will feel a little inspired by it, and maybe some of it you hate it, because my taste is of course not the same as yours. So, what do you think?

Your home owner must love you to bits. If you ever move out they have a much nicer house to rent with no work to do to it!
Haha, yes. They paid us for some of the work we did on the outside of the house though. Also they are very kind and help us out with many things in our daily life so this thing goes both ways 😊

Wow, Maria, I am going backwards to some of your old posts. You really have done a lot of work on this lovely old house! Even scraping the moss off the roof! Your landlords are very fortunate to have you. I look forward to seeing more of the old videos. I hope you are having a great winter. Here in Canada we are having a "hit and run" winter, as they call it. We had -29C one day, and the next day it was +3C! Next week one day will be +8C and the next day +9C. It is crazy!

it is very nice to discover your little cozy nest. It is a beautiful house and you have worked well to make it cozy. I have a small dream myself, to find a small house to rent in Norway , for a few weeks, quite isolated but not too much, because I would not want to rent a car. Just use public transport. Which is a small challenge because I also have to be able to buy food...and therefore reside there alone. Getting by myself. I admit that giving up a car is the only tricky thing. 🧡

Haha yes! They used to have cows here on the farm, but now they have retired. Still the signs remain though. I wish there were cows here

Ja, det är väldigt charmigt med sådana gamla hus, har en speciell mysig atmosfär.
Just nu är mitt liv lite turbulent. Min mor har varit väldigt sjuk och hon avled. Begravelsen blir på fredag, 1 okt. En venn till mig som är artist (sångerska) ska sjunga 3 sånger. Jag håller på med att försöka lära mig en dikt utantill (som jag ska läsa upp på fredag), samtidigt som jag sitter och håller på med my papercrafting.

Do you live in Telemark county? What city do you live near? I am from Oklahoma, US. I visited Norway in 2019 just before the pandemic. I can't wait to go back. My ancestors are from Norway.
Where in Norway did your ancesters came from?
They came from Trondheim.
Yes we live in Telemark :D. Skien is the closest city. Very cool that your ancestors came from Trondheim. Its beautiful up there.
We were near skien a couple of years ago. We went to Midgardsblot festival in Borre near the viking graves. I think Norway is the most beautiful place on earth.

Gee, did you see any free rent for your upgrades??? you have upgraded that property, and given the property probably about 5,000-10,000 dollars worth value to it...JMO
Haha! True, although I do not think it goes up that much in value in this area anyways. We got paid for some of the work, and also much of the paint and stuff were paid for by the house owners :-)
