- WUSA9 has learned of serious allegations of improper training in connection with a Las Vegas-based service dog business that shipped several animals to our area.
This is why I'm completely comfortable self training my service dog, this is so heartbreaking

I have a service dog, I cannot believe this happening at all. Its disgusting! Its dangerous, its portraying a service dog, yet its not a service dog at all. If one of these people have anxiety this is a total nightmare. People will assume its a fake service dog and confront these people with undeserved aggressive and disrespect. Disgraceful.

I trained my own service dog, who also is a Champion show dog and has many obedience titles. He gives me stability and then taught himself to wake me up when I stop breathing so I can adjust my CPAP machine. He is a miracle. He cost me $1000 as a 8 month old puppy. He behaved perfectly on a flight cross country and in restaurants. I couldn't love him more.
Many years ago I went through obedience training with a dog, and one thing that they emphasized is that 30% of the training is for the dog, but 70% of the training is for the handler. I got the impression from this ("delivering" a dog?) that the owners were just handed the dog, with no guidance.
My neighbors got a pup, and I'd hear them yelling at the dog, "Get away from that! Stop that! Get over here, now! Get in the house!", and of course the dog didn't obey, and they'd get angry at the poor beastie and smack him. Did they really think the dog understood English? They have produced very timid and defensive pitbull.
A dog has to know exactly what's expected of him. Otherwise you get pure instinct.

You obviously cant expect a live animal to be perfect, but this is ridiculous
poor screening of animals. Just because a dog can perform a task (like detecting diabetic attack), does not mean that dog has the other qualifying traits to become a service animal. Either the training is being rushed, being done wrong, or these dogs simply do not have the temperament to be service animals.
Part of the training for a service dog is to make sure they can handle any situation they can encounter. Sure, you can't account for every single thing. But a plane ride? Something as simple as a plane ride? If those dogs are being traumatized by that, they aren't service dogs. They're pets with a high price tag.
Could be more to it other than just a plane ride! Someone abused the animals? Just don't have enough facts on this story to know what the truth is. Dogs only have to be able to perform the tasks for disabled people to be classified as service dogs! To go inside public places they have to be behaved but that alone does not make them a service dog.
These poor dogs! They are terrified, undertrained and expected to do more than they can do. The poor dogs are put in these situations, unprepared, and then the owners get angry and jerk the dog around. The fact that they recommended using prong collars “harder” and e-collars on a service dog, that should already be trained, is very telling. Of course the owners are upset and the dogs seem untrained at best and traumatised at worst. My pet dog behaves better than these “service dogs”. There are many great service dogs around, unfortunately these aren’t...
well they said shock collars not e-collars. e-collars are safe because they send vibration to the dog not shocking them. And lots of service dog handlers use them
That guy is a straight up scam artist! My son's DAD would alert to both high and low blood sugars by whining, pawing and if needed barking loudly. This dog also performed 3 specific tasks related to my son's blood sugars. First, he had to consistently alert. Second, if my son were unconscious and alone the dog was trained to push down on a pedal that would automatically place a call to 911. Another task the dog performed was to retrieve a blood glucose monitor and bring it to my son. This dog had to pass the Canine Good Citizen test for obedience. Then it had to have over 100 hours of public access to introduce the dog to many, many things they will encounter as a service dog like elevators, escalators, grocery store, restaurants, etc. these dog's must show NO fear, aggression or shyness. If they do and do not improve during the training the dog is disqualified as a potential service dog. I despise these self proclaimed "expert trainers" that pass off OBVIOUSLY untrained and unstable dogs to people that genuinely need a legitimate service dog...
Maybe you should just watch the last 30 seconds of the video... all of the references who returned the reporters calls were satisfied with their dogs and their ability to alert to high/low blood sugar.

Oh my goodness this is insane!! This place is sketchy as the come!! Oh, it's been a year and we don't know what's happened? How can you not know?! Prong collars and shock collars because they react to dogs and people?! This isn't a poorly raised dog from a shelter, it's a puppy they raised and screwed up. This place should be shut down 😡
I agree. I believe e collars should only be used in the working level (a level the dog can barely feel at all. It takes skill to find it because they show no signs of feeling it) to reinforce commands, especially the recall and heel command for an off leash heel and reliable off leash recall for service dogs. Prong collars for very light information. If they need corrections with these tools then they are not trained🤷🏼♀️

All of these non-profit Service Dog organizations have major expenses. So people receiving the dogs must pay for them, either themselves, through fundraisers or donations . I live in South Carolina. We have an organization that requires recipients to have fundraisers, it doesn’t matter if they raise enough money for the dog or not, just that they helped raise money and awareness for the organization. Here’s why the dogs are so expensive: initial costs of puppy to be trained (in the video all the dogs were Labradors so more than likely came from a breeder) food & training treats for entire time puppy/dog is in training, microchip & registration, all veterinarian bills including all vaccines and spay/neuter, cost of training facility including rent or mortgage, utilities for facility, facility insurance(fire, etc), liability insurance to cover dogs, volunteers, etc. employee pay, payroll taxes, workman’s comp insurance, employee health insurance, travel expenses ( many people think non-profits don’t have paid employees or don’t have to follow certain laws which is false). Accountant, attorneys for filing all state /federal tax returns. All non-profits must pay an independent auditor look at all their financial information and file an audit report, not their regular accountant, this is a state and federal requirement. If this isn’t done the IRS can freeze their bank accounts, and eventually confiscate all their funds, shut down the organization if they continue with non-compliance.
There are so many more expenses but those are just the main ones. Sorry to be long-winded but thought this would help to educate people.

The Lions Club in the US deals almost entirely with blindness and vision. That leaves out the other 99🎁☀️
Karen Ann McMillan the Lions Foundation of Canada that my dog came from is in Oakville Ontario. It trains six different types of Service dogs and is recognized as a company that trains Service dogs. The only other ones I know of in Canada are PADS in BC and one in Quebec .
This is why you should look for an organization certified by Assistance Dogs International. ADI doesn’t even recognize DADA, and their requirements include the treatment and quality of training. If the organization your looking for is not recognized then you should think twice before applying for a dog.

For starters, not every dog can be a service dog. Your dog has to already be calm and focused on its own, you can usually tell when they're puppies. Second, it takes at least a year to properly train a proper service dog. Based on the looks of it they take any dog and try to train them. If you have a dog with a calm and focused personality the chances of them barking, or showing aggression towards anyone or anything after training is close to 0. These people are not only improperly training dogs, but they're not even picking the right ones!
For starters your opinions are not backed by the ADA as far as your opinions on training and behavior determining a service dog. To be classified as a service dog a dog has to be able to perform tasks for the disabled person. There is no guidelines set by the ADA on how long that training has to be. I am sure that would vary with whoever trains the dogs, their experience and the dog's abilities learning the tasks. A dog does not have to be trained to not bark to be a service dog BUT a dog does have to behave to be allowed in public places but just because a dog barks that does not mean they are not a service dog. Some service dogs bark to alert people that are hard of hearing! You can either have a behaved service dog or a service dog that is not behaved but as long as they do the tasks for the disabled they are a service dog. As for the dogs in the video there is no way to know for sure where the fault lies with the seller or with the owners that did something to the dogs or even at the airport or on the planes. Not enough facts to know for sure.
Exactly! If this was a legitimate organization that trained REAL service dogs, some of these dog's would have been rejected before any additional training started. That dog was obviously fearful and unstable. So much so, that dog would have been unable to pass the Canine Good Citizen test. That is the initial and easiest way to evaluate a dog's temperament and basic obedience. Which was clearly something this potential DAD could and would not pass!
I have never seen any service dog act like this.
I would have sued them and got my money back but keeping the dog to give it a better life and train it myself

My SDiT has his minor issues....this makes him look like a god among dogs! (No, nothing that distracts or disrupts his training, just small things like preferring to lay down when I told him to hold a sit lol!) This is awful and I feel so bad for these families, but I would not talk my dog out ever again after this is he was behaving like that in stores and stuff! Either wash or take them to a trainer with experience and confidence, but public aggression is a HUGE no.
That's insane. No REAL service dog trainer worth the name would EVER allow a dog to leave their possession with those behaviors. I believe not one of the dogs shown was properly evaluated as a puppy, nor were they trained properly, at all.

Just to clarify they only tried to contact 27, not 100!! And out of the 27 there was 12 they got in contact with.
Some of the dogs have been well trained, but SO WHAT? How many egregious failures is an appropriate amount? And how many of those failures has been rectified promptly by the seller? That company is not only stealing money via misrepresentation, they are endangering lives, and undermining the entire service animal program!
This is one reason why you don’t freak out and yell “FAKE SERVICE DOG!” but try to be rational and find out if the person is actually disabled. Some people get conned.

I know that it's not going to change but, I'm just so tired, so sick and tired of GOOD people in need get scrutinized because of the disgusting cons out there.. Same as people like me that, unfortunately, have to take opioid medication to actually have a quality of life and work and run our business.. I've had people tell me I'm an addict and only want it for a high and that I'm taking their tax dollars for Medicaid to pay for my addiction.. I'm on private insurance, my husband makes a very decent amount of money, we live in a very nice community.. The moment someone knows I take methadone for my severe and chronic back spasm, I'm looked at as worthless, I sale my pills and don't need them.. Even the corporate pharmacies do this.. Walgreens is the WORSE!! I use a small family owned so that I don't have to go through what Walgreens does every single solitary month..
These poor people and those like them, it's just so sad.. Scam artists..

What’s funny is I have received a dog from this exact company and I have had none of the problems that these “customers” have with their dogs. You know why? Because it’s the owners responsibility to maintain and keep up with their dogs training. It’s not just going to stick and stay with them forever, you have to keep reinforcing it. That’s where the problem is. It’s sad that people expect everything to be pitch perfect just because they paid $15,000 for the service dog. As an owner of a service dog from Diabetic Alert Dogs of America, I can say that I am extremely grateful to have another tool to help with my illness and also have a new best friend all together.
I thought the point of the video was that these people immediately noticed things were amiss with their service dogs, particularly when it came to public access. Of course the owners have the responsibility to maintain, but there was so little to maintain as evidenced by some of the videos provided. It was almost as if the dogs were trained for one single task (detecting low blood sugar, etc.) and that was it; they were pretty much just dogs straight from the shelter after that. It could be the local branches of Diabetic Alert Dogs have different standards of quality, and that's how certain dogs can pass under the radar.
I agree that you can’t expect a perfect dog but I do believe that the program is to blame for some of these dogs. Just because your dog is good doesn’t mean every one of the dogs are going to be the same. These dogs don’t all work with the same puppy raisers/ trainers and every program is going to have dogs that just aren’t fit to work. The problem with this program and many others is that they will know that some of these animals are not fit to be placed and place them anyway because they don’t want to lose the money they put into it.

You have to keep training the dog these people probably untrained the dog by not treating it as a service dog. Now there mad. I like how it took everyone a long time to figure out that it’s not what they wanted. You have to maintain the training it doesn’t just get trained once in his lifetime and then it’s a perfect service dog . The owner considering himself the best dog trainer in the country in my opinion is worrisome. Red Alert right there. I have a service dog and she's owner trained with professional trainers and a behaviorist to ensure well being. Owner trained or program trained is very expensive because there's A LOT that goes into the training for task, obedience, and socialization (three different things) as well as the care for the dog. Just going off my own experience, I think these featured dogs just want to be non-working pet dogs and the trainers/SD program should have recognized and honored the dog to prevent being "traumatized" before they ever were approved for work. I feel horrible for the dogs and families here who clearly were taken advantage of. *SICK* Glad to hear some dogs from this SD program are now positive teams... but this is just horrid. I hope the families are in better places today and were refunded.

I’m no expert but it seems pretty bad that they recommended a shock collar. These dogs although recognised as service dogs because they can perform a function for their owners are unable to fully do it because of they are problematic to take out in public. So I think a ‘good’ company would train them to be calm in public so they can properly do their job when needed. Also they should not just be handed over after a payment (not sure if that’s what happened). My mum had a service dog (Australia) who was in training who displayed better behaviour in public then these dogs. I know that most of this was reported a while after they got the dogs, but still the dogs should not be acting that way, and I doubt it was all the owners fault, because really I don’t trust a company that says you should use a shock collar on a service dog.

these dogs have been "fully Trained" and they act like they where abused and had no training at all my service dog in training is acting better than this most un trained dogs act better than this I having my first public access outing today I'm a little scarred since she barks sometimes but we have been working really hard for 5 weeks and hopefully it goes well
I have had my service dog ambushed & bitten by a fake service dog that also knocked me down. The owner was aggressive & verbally abusive using homophobic slurs. Fortunately security cameras caught the incident & nearby people assisted me off the ground. Traumatic for both of us. This assault could have made my dog extremely reactive. Bad training of people & dogs must be punished. My dog has saved my life in public spaces 3 seperate times. A service dog is more than a furry companion ! They are the partners of someone with a disability, they are life enabling. Both owner & dog have to be trained together for a period of time appropriate to the tasks required. I have trained dogs since 70's, never use prong collars, fear etc that is abuse & counter productive to producing a happy, well trained animal. That "CEO" is nothing more than a puppy mill fraudster.

I trained two of my own service dogs both beautifully trained don't pay those prices it is a scam, I used my own dog training skills I had so many comments about how wonderfully trained they were, I still have mine but he is older and retired but deserves only the best in his retirement. What a scam and a shame on them.
I’m a dog trainer but I don’t train service dogs but I know a dog going into an airport even my best trying dog who is my 24 hour companion would have trouble in an airport with all the noise if I was a service dog trainer for people thatHad to fly on airplanes I believe I would have to take the dogs I was training to the airport to see if I couldn’t talk to somebody to let me take the dogs on the plane put them in the floor in front of me under the seat and the beast certain that those dogs will only pay attention to me or the owner that I turn the dog over to and it takes two days for me to totally turn the dog over to the new owner or to the original owner so they know the exact commands that that dog has been taught

Not only are those dogs not trained but they to have clearly been abused or mistreated in order to be this fearful. These aren’t dogs that just haven’t been trained to the expected and needed standards but dogs don’t reacted like this and be this fearful and dog after coming out like this really shows that something worse then just not training the dogs is going on behind those doors at this facility. I’m a professional dog trainer but I also have a genetic heart condition that requires me to have a service dog which is trained to pick up on changes that happen with my heart that can be very dangerous. So I know first hand how big of a difference medical alert dogs Make to people fighting illnesses like this. Dogs don’t act like this from just not being trained (maybe the odd dog here and there will but to have dog after dog come out acting like his is not caused my just lack of training) they act like this when something or someone has traumatised them and hurt them very seriously to the point they act like this to protect themselves (rightfully so) from what has hurt them in the past. I know this was 5 years ago but I truly hope this place got shut down and charges laid on all involved in traumatising these poor pups and for ripping off and putt these vulnerable people (not to mention the extremely cruel thing to make somebody who has an illness that effects there life massively and causes so much anxiety around the dangers that come with having hypers and hypos or seizures and etc) to get their hooes up that they will finally have this dog who can keep the SAFE and possibly ever SAVE THEIR LIFE, tO find out in the end they are still in just as ,cub danger as before the dog and that their excitement and hope around the fact they can finally have some independence back and not rely on other people and machines to feel safe and fo hsveyhe safety net of an alert dogs takes away so much anxiety around if they will go to sleep and not wake up because they had a low in there sleep and never woke up for it. To have that sense of fear taken away because you know the dog will wake you up if you need to treat a low and etc is the most mhgaiv feeling , so to have your hopes up and your excitement at an all time high about having a new found independence and piece of mind and then to go from the best feeling in the world (the feeling of safety and finally being safe to go to sleep or go out without another person) to the opposite, having your hopes crushed and all the dreams and excitement you had about the fact you can do so many more things in life safely suddenly gone. This has to be one of the cruelest scams I’ve ever seen for both the human and dog. These people ar3 criminal, messing with peoples lives like this and taking something like their illness or disability to make you money while messing with their emotions and life, is horrific and it doesn’t get much more evil then this. I’m so sorry to all these people who got taken advantage of and used like this, you deserve better, I’m so so sorry,

No, they need to be trained to public access. This includes things like not being spooked by loud noises or different experiences say a shaken plastic bag or a popping balloon.
Absolutely no longer needed or justified in the age of highly accurate Continuous Glucose Monitors, being covered by insurance. And, absolutely non intrusive to those around you.
those dogs are TRAUMATIZED by the trainers. personally i feel if a SERVICE dog trainer encourages you to pull 'harder' on a prong collar or even buy a Shock collar to control the dog that THEY ruined and traumatized is a HUGE red flag its a red Banner. i was able to train my first SD all alone by the age 13 and i NEVER had to use physical punishment or force to train her. and i am currently training a 3 1/2 old puppy for SD work and my PUPPY is trained better than those dogs from that organization (that where shown in the videos) and i am only 15!!! I really do believe that they chose to use the "Fastest" way to train dogs which is most likely using physical force as a punishment so they can pump out as many dogs they can. and the form of "Training" that involves physical punishment only ruins dogs and creates: stress, trauma, aggression and reactivity. you can tell that a lot of the dogs there are reacting out of fear and stress and you don't have to be an expert to see that. and some dogs may not be qualified to be a service animal due to certain behaviors or energy levels that they just have from a young age AND IT IS OKAY to cut out a dog who wont do well for that job that dog can still live happily in a loving home but maybe just not as a service dog.

In my opinion someone, if not the owner of the company himself, abused those dogs, and I seriously doubt that he would fire any of his trainers if he found out that they were using abusive tactics to train these dogs

That's not true. If a service dog is trained correctly and that means socalized at a young age, desensitised to a busy environment, and trained to handle emergencies in distracting situations. Then going on an airplane should just be another learning experience for them. Not something that will traumatiz them for life. That behavior, the reactiveness in sores and around other dogs, peeing inside stores, and such, is purely a lack of training.

No no no! I have service dog and a trained service dog does not have these types of temperaments. You can just look and see immediately by the behavior these dogs are NOT FULLY TRAINED!

I wonder if this isn’t a bit skewed against the trainer. Some of what the vid shows, I’d call abuse of the dog by the owner. If the owner waited a year to complain, I would want to know what the owner did to it during that year.

I'm only 14 and I have a 5 month old Australian Shepherd and she's becoming a service dog from us training her because we bought one online and it wasn't a service dog and attacked another person
This is why I hate these programs because they make lots of money and even when they say they can provide you with certification proving that it's a service dog. This is why Certifications are Not Real even with a so-called professional trainer-operated SD program and why it is so bad when people who think that when they get a service dog from a program can just flash their paperwork to business owners and this hurts others who owner train. What says that the trainer should prove they are really qualified to be working for a program service under the ADA?

my dog trained herself. i just did the rest. most alert dogs that meet criteria dont take much training. i looked into companies that wanted 5000 and they told me what they do she already did that.
This is a hard one. We don't know the full truth. TBF to the trainer whose to say the dogs aren't treated well in that year or more they've had the dogs. Though I doubt it's the people's fault for the most part. Bad training wanting that 15k asap. It should take years to train a proper service dog.
Is this guy for real? I dont believe what is being said. This guy is responsible and not absolved of the problems that he has caused. Im training my dog myself and shes better behaved with 6 months of working with her so far than any of these dogs in the video.

These dogs are acting out in fear. These dogs were not properly trained & socialized. A truly trained dogs would not act this way even a year later. The owner should go to the dog not the dog to the owner. The owner should learn to work with the dog before taking animal home. Are the trainers of these dogs teaching new owners how to give commands, how & when to give corrections, how to keep up the training, & etc.?

There is no way of knowing how the dogs arrived to the owners or how the owners treated them after they got them but are you a licensed medical doctor? Since you seem to be implying that no one with Diabetes needs a service dog? Unless you are a medical doctor I don't think you have the right to make that decision for others that could only be reached on a case by case basis even if you are a medical doctor.
That can be true for type 2, and that is 90% of the time if not more, type 1 is far more serious and life-threatening. Type 2 like most people I got from being overweight and too many sweets and in my case, being a pop-aholic. I have been delivered of that, thank You, Jesus! Let me tell you it is just as addictive as alcohol, which I hate. Type one I found out you can be born with or you can get it from having a baby, I could be wrong about that one about having a baby.
Still, both can be self-monitored, especially type 2. As far as type 1, in some to most cases, you can, but not always. Now I don't like dogs, but, hey, I think the price of a CGM, and or insulin pump if you need it, is probably cheaper, than what most would wind up forking over for a dog to detect blood sugar changes. But hey, that's up to the person, and their needs. If you are prone to getting many lows and or passing out seizures or whatnot, yes, a service dog would be ideal, but there are alternatives, way cheaper I'm sure.
Not true. Many type 1s are life threatening and happen at the oddest times and your body can react and pass out before the blood sugar machine can sense it. Also its unrealistic to check your blood every half hour

I too am a diabetic, type 2, not as serious as type 1, but I have had my dangerous lows too. Just doing exercises at the gym can bring me dangerously low when walking back home. Or even having a lot of water tea (with no sugar) can do it too. Heads up, never eat just a spinach salad only, before bed, yikes! The natural magnesium in the spinach helps you absorb insulin and shot me down super low!
Still, after seeing this really ignites my anger, I must say! For one, they can sue that company for putting their lives in grave danger. Hell, I would even say far worse charges. The other is the worse fact of the matter, is this fact. You can get a Continual Glucose Meter for cheaper than what you paid for your dog, without the psychotic problems, I'm sure! Heck, you will save money in the long run too! Correct me if I'm wrong on this. Sue the damn place and take the money and spend it on an insulin pump and or CGM, or a machine that does both.
If you do need someone or something to wake you up, if you go too low there might be machines to do that. I looked into it the insulin pump will shut off for 2 hours, and I'm sure alarms can sound as well, it sounds like to take actions. You might find it can call an ambulance when a low is reach for too long. Still, something to think about it, options people! Even if I did like dogs and that happened to me, I would sure sue and use that money on a machine rather than relying on a dog.

This is awful. These dogs shouldn't be brought into places. It doesn't help that the owners don't know how to handle a dog. This place that sells pets clearly knows know thing about service dogs. Service dogs should be able to work on a flat collar and leash perfectly.
I am notorious for wanting proof before judging people if they have committed a wrong. The seller we can't know for sure those dogs were in that condition one or two years ago before the owners got them! I am not saying those dogs were not in that condition I am just saying I didn't see any proof of it. The owners that got the dogs do we know them? Know how they treat animals? Know how their children treat them? How were the animals treated at the airport? So many questions that can't be answered so I can't come down one on side or the other on this one. Sad for the dogs because something had to make them that way? Who knows what it was.
First of all, the most popular breeds are some of the smartest breeds not to mention the gentlest nonaggressive breeds. These dogs were not trained, they were caged for periods of time and little to no human touch or contact. And if there was any human contact, it clearly was not a positive interaction. Covid screwed my training we had scheduled for my girl, so I had to train her on my own at home, and I do not know the first thing about any of it. My girl was my first dog, but with dedication/consistency/discipline/nurturing/and LOVE; she has turned into my best friend as well as my lifeline. THIS IS WHY YOU ARE ALLOWED TO TRAIN YOUR SERVICE DOG YOURSELF. And finally, this man is clearly a fraud and should be locked up for putting people's lives at risk, both handler and those around the dog. These people should be given new dogs FOR FREE by a legit team, and the untrained dogs should be given to the facilities to train them properly and place them properly. One more thing, I am so disappointed in the Federal Government for their laziness and lack of creative problem solving when it comes to finding a resolution for this particular issue: LEGITIMACY. Imo, there should be a national service dog registry, and your SD receives an ID similar to what we have for State ID with the barcode on the back and everything. And you attain a legal SD ID by having your dog trained at a certified establishment where they do the paperwork for you and help you register your newly TRAINED service dog. You receive a certificate on the spot along with a temp tag # until the gov mails you your ID, your service dogs ID, a proper vest with the proper tags along with a leash and collar tag. And they should also offer discounts for service dogs of any kind at any pet store willing to participate (similar to vets getting discounts) and same with vet hospitals. Every business/public accommodations locations should go through proper training for being able to properly identify real service dogs, how to deal with fakes (a reporting system), how to handle harassment. If they complete the training program voluntarily and successfully, reward them! All states should have the same universal laws when it comes to service dogs. There shouldn't be any discrimination nor abusing the system at this point in time, and if its happening (which it clearly is) then that means the government is not doing their job. Its time for change! Real service dog handlers do not want to cause any problems, they just want to be able to live a normal life. It's the selfish stupid people of the world who ruin it for everyone, and how we deal with these types of violators should be adjusted to much harsher levels as we move forward. There are so many ways to revolutionize this area of life and to make it fit where everyone wins. We have to figure out a way to deal with the fakes better, instead of just making it harder for real ones to exist.
People are all my ESA helps me emotionally and I'm like you mean A Pet. I tell them unless your ESA is tasked trained it's not correctly trained for ESA Legit Task Trained Dogs aren't just a pet they do a Service. I have a Tasked Trained ESA and additionally a Service Dog. My Service Dog is not the well known breed like Golden Lab, German Shepherd or Poodle, and I may not look it but I have severe CPTSD 'look it up and also three medical conditions that can become worse if I have a CPTSD Attack. I'm fed up with places like Costco, Cantaro's and Walmart allowing Seniors who claim "I feel alone I need my dog with me for emotionally support while the senior citizen doesn't have a Service Dog it's just a pet, let alone an Task Trained ESA and yes a ESA Task Trained must achieve good citizens Task, be able to Task train and have a documentation with a legit, thats right a Legit ESA Task Trained RX Script for it to be allowed into a pet friendly hotel or if you plan to take them with you to new place that doesn't allow dogs. Unless an RX script that can be contacted by a legit M.D then your online documentation is garbage and a hertic fraud, a fake and if your dog shows bad behavior they can have you removed. Unfortunately I see seniors abuse the Service Dog rules and ESA documentation with M.D RX Script, by showing an Amazon, Google or Ebay pay for a phony lettering, and it's treated as legit for ESA when it's not, or they say their dog through it is a Service Dog when we all know it is not. However stores feel bad for seniors and let them Violate the laws and we are told to feel bad they are alone and let them abuse ada laws. However if your a nice looking woman with a legit Service Dog your quick to be attacked at a family grocery to a big retail, harassed and hounded, told can't you read the sign no dogs allowed. When you call the management out for allowing citizens with pets in their store and they served them it was violation of Federal Government ADA Law, and yet you go in with a legit in either public access training or Service Dog in full and your harassed and told you don't look disabled , or your dog doesn't fit the Social standard breeds that are known to be a Service Dog so you can't be legit. They then proceed to scare tactic they'll call police because you won't give them the name of the Service Dog Facility on the dogs vest or tell them it, or you fail to produce an phony documentation which a guy who came in to a store I was in pulled out and claimed that proves his 'Pettis a Service Dog when it's not and he clearly did not serve, just a phony scam artist dressed in camo trying to pass off as if they served so they can bring their pet with them. It's disgusting the amount of fakes, and them making seniors or event places like Eastern Market believe they can stip you harass you, question a legit Service Dog Handler and question the breed while demanding online scam papers. I educate people and that includes HOA's and Apartments unless the documentation is ESA Task Trained written by an M.D legit with an RX script that is legit on the documentation or with it for an ESA must be Task Trained and completed additionally Good Citizenship to be allowed to move in with the person, otherwise it's a pet they are making a false documentation with no M.D signature and number ti verify it and the RX authentication for the Handler of an ESA Task Trained you have a right to ask for. The Same if you have a Service Dog and have to move into an apartment, travel and or get a condo, that and in a Medical Establishment if you are going to be stuck in hospital only then they have a right to ask for RX script with M.D signature to clarify so no one can turn you away and cause issues and it must be legit in case of emergencies or if last resort. However a Service Dog and Handler should never have to provide the RX and Diagnosis to anyone else for any reason. It comes down to is to for housing accommodations or are you in ER and getting admitted or going to a dentist they can ask for that based on the type of Service They provide. However Restaurants, Pharmacy, Malls, Grocery Stores and what not can't ask for anything. Unfortunately I get where she is going with this. In MI the government has asked businesses to be more open and accommodations to Service Dogs in training after they have finished necessary training and are in public access training so that the transition and getting desensitized to places they will need to go with Handler will be less stressful in merging into the scene, instead of waiting till a training is done. However again you get these attention seeking people pulling the fake documentation scam, seniors wanting to take their small pets with them in a grocery cart. Also if lets say you go certain places alot and I form them you are getting a Service Dog, it should not be an issue right? Unfortunately many ethnic businesses use willing to emerse into our government laws that protect ADA, some places can't understand why you suddenly have a Service Dog, or think they can use any excuse to not let you in. It's like the church I used to go to, telling me "you can rely on medical parishioners to help you incase something happens, you don't need a Service Dog with you for two hours leave the dog at home...... I'm like seriously none of these parishioners qualify to alert me before it gets worse and can't alert me ahead of time, you say trust people , and yet I have PTSD additionally because of people. I then call out the double standard that to them the lady that goes to service in a wheel chair is allowed in as, or with an oxygen mask, and both need that medical equipment, how bout tell them to leave that at home and that the parishioners will give them help to their seat they don't need a wheelchair or they'll give them oxygen somehow so they don't die during Service. It's really sad and disgusting the double standard of who is welcomed places, and the stereotypical attitude towards especially single women with a Service Dog 🐕🦺 going places. Thanks also to many Service Dog Facilities that don't take Civilians amd or only offers Diabetes Alert when someone needs a Hypoglycemia alert Service Dog, you have to find other alternative through an Organization and train the dog privately and through trainers who work with dogs for the specific requirements, and then you get harassed at a down town festival where is the Service Dog Facilities patch because they only are willing to "identify Service Dog based on the Service Dog Facilities Emblem", which is nonsense as not all Service Dogs come from a Service Dog Facility. I gave up on Service Dog Facilities they'd take my money, interrogate, make excuses and refuse to coordinate with my M.D and Physcian and dragged their feet so I went with an Trai. SERVICE DOG THROUGH ORGANIZATION PRIVATELY and it was best thing to do. Many Service Dog Facilities will encourage you to discard your preexisting pets at home like trash at a shelter unless your a Veteran or 1st Responder, they practically demand this out of ignorance, regardless if a dog at home is ESA Task Trained it's because they think Civilians are less deserving of their time and energy unlike those that served, and think it be too much to have another dog or cats at home. Which is something I had run into with a few ignorant out-dated practices of Service Dog Facilities, amd another reason to do the Service Dog training through Academy recommended by Service Dog Organization, and then at 1 yr. 6months finish the rest of training through the organization. However both Good Citizenship and Public Access Training must be finished before starting last part of training. I Had also ran into ignorant bias Service Dog Facility proclaimed specialists who claimed out of ignorance a civilian woman not married can't possibly be able to handle the service dog training on her own, and assumed she does not have a safety net of family and friends who can vouch for you, and if not married who will be the breadwinner.......and it's degrading, humiliating and disgusting many Service Dog Facilities stigmatize women like this who are civilians in legit need of a Service Dog. Some even say they're M.D knows more about your case and you then the M.D and Physcian who recommended the Service Dog and gave the RX Script for it with extensive knowledge of you and your diagnosis . Instead Service Dog Facilities say they will only acknowledge their often times ignorant quack proclaimed M.D's choice on whether to accept you or not, and te you to give them more money for each conference call and paperwork submitted to them, while their M.D's haveittle knowledge and lug everyone with a certain condition together as if they are same person with same needs and that's wrong to do.
When in public access training I have with my Service Dog been harassed by a Veteran with a Service Dog and someone else with one because they believed the dog should be past public access training to be allowed in, or sterotyped me as a fake and said my dog isn't one familiar to any PTSD Service Dog Facility and threaten to expose us as fake while we are in Public Access Training instead of leaving us be and it's unfortunate, but social media helps cause so many problems instead of making people aware different breeds are needed based on the Tasking and Condition, and that the dog doesn't need to be vested, or a Service Dog in Public Access Training is given in some states right to majority of public access to achieve that area of training, and that just because you dont look it doesn't mean your not legit. Also that there is down time at home for a Service Dog and then there is time for work a big diffrences between the two.
