For the past 2 months, since he gets so much hype from the media, they always point out every single mistake via a microscope lense when he played. No one can play perfectly every match but overall, he still finished his defending job well imo. That hatred campaign has never stopped and I know for sure Luis de la Fuente cannot hold the press like Luis Enrique few years ago who started Pedri at EURO over experienced players regardless of all criticism. It’s bad because the kid is likely to get called up for Olympics and miss the pre season with new coach. If Spain advances far in the tournament, he will miss first few games with Barca at La Liga. They have friendlies against Man City, Real Madrid, and AC Milan and Cubarsi will definitely miss all games. For me, a huge huge problem. However, I know the kid will be more than proud to represent Spain at Olympics in Paris this summer because it’s also a dream for every player to get an Olympics gold medal. I hope he would make history to fulfill Olympics, Euro, and World Cup in the mere future. He has everything to reach the best ceiling if he works hard.

There are from la Masia and playing in the first team at barcelona. From Barcelona standpoint, those international competition have little benefit but to highlight the greatness of La Masia, which nobody really contests..

Even tho they won, that backline didnt give such a safety and they conceded in first 2 minutes from defensive errors so I can imagine if the kid couldnt complement with 1 of 4 CBs well, the media will be after him. They better keep him at home and let him develop in a normal way.
