I couldn't help but notice the yard full of branded WES Coaches at the main Wilsonville station, they look like old stainless steel amtrak stock. Do those ever get used? Or are they just for possible overload?
Oh! I spoke too soon! That's them at 5:00 and 7:40! I wasn't expecting those coaches to be powered! What model are they? I haven't seen diesel powered coaches like that!
They are actually what are known as Rail Diesel Cars (RDCs). They're basically self-propelled coaches, and they're used as backup for the regular Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) commuter cars if needed. TriMet has two sets of RDCs, but only one set is currently being used.
good video
5:05 does not have a plat form instead it’s like a nyc subway station
9:40 the station has a little side-step switch to bring the car closer to the platform?! Thats kinda funny how simple it is but it makes sense!
Some of the parts have Portland & Western in this video
The service is operated by P&W, and on P&W track.
That bnsf train
9:02 Where is that?
SW North Dakota St. crossing near Tigard.
