Many bands have an ideal drummer, an ideal soloist, a great bass. Many have several such members. But for all the ideals to be in one band is a phenomenon.
Thanks for the reaction! You hit most everything I’d remark on. That opening is truly something else. Of course, just part of the performance, because it opens the show, but it’s pretty amazing to see. I love Haruna hitting the snares in this one. The song is relentless, and I think her drumming is a big part of that. I love Asami staying mostly mid range, but at a high cadence. Matches the drums and pace of the song. I love when she soars high but here she’s in the mids. Then exactly as you said - Midori’s solo, into Haruna’s into that epic breakdown is unbelievable. My favorite breakdown. Miho going full headbang mode and Asami really pumping her fist. Asami has the really cool fast cadence section at the end of it and then we are back into the song. Then she goes high to lead into Miyako’s solo. Amazing stuff. Words cannot describe my love for this song. Miho wrote it by the way, so it’s a great moment too, to see her singing it for all she’s worth. As someone else said, if this is now your favorite (I’m with you brother!), check out Break the Wall. Another Miho song that crushes it. Another favorite of mine. Cheers!
The curtains drop to the thunderous sound, and there, right in front of you, appear 5 Goddesses. I would have loved to have been there, WOW. From this, they took the coats off and went to Holy War, the talent and stamina of lovebites is immeasurable in my opinion. Love them so much. Relentless brilliance. I watched this about 10 times in a row when I stumpled on it back in early 2020 wondering how can they be this good.. Good catch on Miyako playing one handed (nonchalantly). I rewound that portion countless times. Epic transition and breakdown. How metal should be done. In my top 5 LB songs
They dont need the "look at me running around the stage" showmanship. She has enough presence just standing and singing. Their transitions are amazing.

["Thunder Wednesday"!] That is how you open a show. Again, this is a song by Miho. Her lasting legacy. She always knew most of the lyrics anyway, but here it's only natural. I'm sure Miho wrote that breakdown for herself to headbang! ;) The lyrics, btw, are quite gory, and deal with the Twilight of the Gods stuff, original Viking way. Never be deceived by the neat ladies in white! \m/ As a side note, you were right about the costumes being not, er... optimal for the Live conditions. LOVEBITES put them on for the start, since these outfits were part of their image campaign for the 3rd LP. But after this song, the jackets came off flying! I've seen a photo of Midori warming up before some show of this tour, in sneakers and daily clothes, but sporting the darn jacket and, I suppose, trying to adjust to playing the guitar while constricted. :))
It is difficult and silly to decide the best song of LOVEBITES, but without a doubt this song is among the best for me. Especially this live version, I am moved every time I listen to it by the overwhelming presence of the band, which takes over the venue in an instant as the curtain opens. I also love ASAMI's brutal smile from time to time.
The opener to the legendary Five of a Kind show at Zepp DiverCity. It surprises me that so few latch on to the word play - DiverCity - diversity 😊. Anyway - the restrictive jackets came off after this song which was followed by Holy War which you've already reacted to. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

If you want real mind blowing speed thrash metal, there you go - Thunder Vengeance. In general, if you want heavy metal-Lovebites, if you want power metal-Lovebites, if you want thrash metal-Lovebites, rock ballads-Lovebites...Hands down, best metal band in the universe right now-at least for me (Lovebites and Nightwish-with Floor)

It's kind of ridiculous with LOVEBITES. There are no other bands I've ever heard that fill their catalog with such greatness, song after song after song. And their live performances are spectacular.

Two album versions of "Thunder Vengeance" have officially 113 bpm (EP) and 112 bpm (ITB), so I guess, the correct value is 225 bpm, it's even faster than the upgraded 220 bpm (officially 110 bpm) of "Set The World On Fire". Why do I double the value? Because the value around 110 bpm doesn't count every beat, just every second one. My App is mostly confused, but it shows 224, 227 up to 231 bpm here and there. Another undershot by the reactor...
I think they look fantastic in these jackets, really classy and there are a number of songs/videos where they wear them, most notably the video of Winds of Transilvania.

I was in London at the LB show last summer, the fans who saw them the first time confirmed their assessment. LB live even at these stripped down shows at small venues were just as amazing.
