I'm sure that it was the royal wedding of Princess (now Queen) Elizabeth II to the late Prince Philip - held on November 20, 1947. Four and a half years later, her father King George VI (played by Colin Firth in that Oscar winning movie "The King's Speech) died, and the Queen was officially crowned on June 2 1953 - thus the seventieth anniversary year of her coronation begins on June 2 of this year - and there are many celebrations for her jubilee year that are planned to begin in the next two weeks.

The studio decided to throw a reception for their Hollywood stars who'd been invited to the wedding - on their arrival in England. The guests included English movie star guests.
