Wow. What a touching and beautiful tribute. I grew up about 2 miles from Ken Brock Manufacturing in Garden Grove, Ca. After my baseball games at Nike Field, my dad and I would peer longingly into Ken's shop window at his gyrocopter parked in the lobby. Those remain powerful memories for me. I shook Ken's hand once at an airshow in Carpenteria, I think. He impressed me as a genuine, kind, and gracious man. My condolences to Marie, the Brock family and the aviation world. Thank you, Dan.
When I lived outside Chicago, I used to rent a parking place in a cow pasture for $5 bucks a night. Many is the time I watched Ken dead stick his gyro down to earth. I was going to buy one back in 1981, and even talked to Ken about it on the phone. A friend of mine talked me into flying airplanes, and now I'm an airline captain. Some day I'll get a KB-2. It's on my bucket list. Ken Brock is the kind of guy that helped make aviation what it is today.
May I say that was the most moving video I've seen for a while. Nice editing, great imagination and a fitting tribute to someone who is obviously a professional pilot and a much loved friend. Thank you for posting this to the world, it's a much better place for it. Steve.
I saw Mr. Brock At the EAA Fly In 84 .What a show .Everytime I see a Gyro I think of that show and how fortunate I got to see such amazing talent.Thank you so much for posting.
Great tribute. While I never had the pleasure of meeting Ken, I used to play little league baseball right across the street from Ken Brock Mfg in Garden Grove Ca at the Nike Base. After games, my dad and I would go to Ken's and stare in the window at the gyrocopter in the lobby like a couple of kids staring through a toy store window at Christmas time. I spoke to Ken on the phone in 1999 to ask about his kit. He was a real gentleman.
Thank you for posting this. I was just reading the other day in a back issue of EAA _Sport Aviation_ and it said that Ken's work was peerless. He had a great name, and even today, watching videos of him still conveys a real sense of loss, years later.
his memory lives through the passions of the great friends Mr. Brock had. Very touching to see the love and loyality you had for your mentor/hero, Mr. Ken Brock.
we all miss him .i met him at oshkosh many times and i miss his airshow preformances and his brown 56 oval vw. this was a great tribute to a great man. george fendley
Hi, Great made video man! I'm sorry you lost your friend. We all seem to lose friends in aviation..but still we keep loving it. I wish you many happy landings.
Chris, a lot of us had to travel to get instruction. It's unfortunate there aren't more instructors. Don't let it discourage you. Plan some short 3-4 day vacations to visit an instructor. Talk to as many people as you can up at El Mirage.
Ken Brock is sorely missed. This video is awesome. Thank you Mr. Dan Donley.

Wow,
This is a really well done tribute. If UTube gave out Academy Awards this would be a fitting clip for one. Really outstanding work.
