A couple of corrections:
FOV (FPP) just changed how far away your gun is in resting position. It doesn't affect the FOV of the screen. For the screen's FOV you adjust FOV Range for FPP and Camera FOV for TPP. The labels are a bit misleading. Now if you want to adjust how far away the gun sight is from your head (making the sight appear larger or smaller), you can change the gun's customization. You have to do that for each individual gun.
Also you can backslide and dolphin dive with fixed speed, it just probably feels like you can't if you're used to using acceleration. The feel is a bit different. To back slide, you need to be able to single flick around 180 (or 180 degrees - 44 degrees at the very least if you diagonal sprint with it) degrees or more, which requires high enough sensitivity.
My conclusions on the different rotation modes:
I've played extensively with speed acceleration and fixed speed, and a little with distance acceleration. My opinion to the question of which is best is, is that there isn't a best. They have their tradeoffs. I see the tradeoffs as follows.
Fixed:
Pros
1. Most consistency in aiming of them all
2. Best at tracking lateral moving targets regardless of distance.
3. Better at slicing corners
Cons
1. Harder to react as fast if you need do a big aim adjustment, but this is remedied somewhat by good crosshair placement of where an enemy is likely to appear and getting at good at knowing when and where to pre-aim (map knowledge is key there).
2. Hard to get as good of mix between fine tune aiming and a large aiming arc both. If you want fine tune aiming at long distances, then you'll have sacrifice your ADS aiming arc unless maybe you have very long fingers and a large screen. But this can be offset somewhat by going with as high of sensitivity as you can handle, and then use strafing for micro-adjustment in aiming more, which has the added benefit of making you harder to hit. This means it's harder to aim while you're stationary (e.g., playing a head glitch), but that can be an advantage when out in the open since moving while firing is helpful to take less bullets, but also makes it harder to steady aim if you're using the movement for evasion over micro-adjusting aim while ADSing.
Speed Acceleration:
Pros
1. Is great at reacting fast and often beating your enemy at aiming on them faster, especially when they pop into sight far away from your crosshairs.
2. A good mixture of both fine tune aim and wide aiming arc both. A bit of having your cake and eating it too. When you have to aim wider, you flick faster. When you need the fine tune aim adjustment, you swipe slower. This helps when your enemy moves out of your site fast and up close, as you often don't even need to un-ADS which can be a split-seconds advantage than un-ADSing, recentering, and then ADSing again. If you're using fixed, this is where you want to build a good habit of hip firing at very close ranges, and hip-firing to ADS firing transition once the target's lateral movement decreases (e.g., they've switch from evading to adsing and your hip firing likely got them down to one or two ADS shots to finish them).
Cons
1. Harder to track lateral moving at various ranges and movement speeds. There will usually be a sweet spot for it at a certain range and movement speed of the target. As the target gets away from those two factors, it become progressively more difficult to track perfectly and make optimal bullets land in the process. This can be offset by anticipating and flicking to where they'll stop moving or their lateral movement will decrease.
Distance Acceleration:
I've used this one the least, but noticed what its pros and cons are. They are pretty much the same as speed acceleration with some slight variation. It has comparatively better consistency and a little better tracking than speed acceleration (since speed of flick doesn't change the sensitivity), but doesn't have its quicker reacting aiming speed advantage much like fixed doesn't. Good crosshair placement is pretty critical for this one too (like with fixed), but the benefit you get is you can play on a lower sensitivity and still have a large aiming arc, i.e., don't have to sacrifice how far you can turn around in a single swipe while still retaining a lot of fine tune aiming. But that's also one of its disadvantages too. If you have to make a large aiming adjustment you lose that fine tune aiming unless you reset the aim, which can sometimes be the milliseconds difference between winning and losing the gunfight. In short it has some of the advantages of fixed and speed acceleration, but also some of their cons.
TLDR:
In short, fixed is better at tracking moving targets, while acceleration is better at aiming faster (better and more accurate flicking at the expense of follow through tracking) on less moving or stationary targets. Pick your poison. Or better yet, just stay with which ever you're most comfortable with as you've probably already evolved your play style and habits around it. You just have to accept that you'll have some advantages and disadvantages no matter which one you pick, but the key is playing to your advantages as much as you can. That is where your habits and play style come in.
I have always traditionally been a speed acceleration player, but at a certain point I switched over to fixed speed. You'll feel that you will hit a wall with either, but know they both have a different wall. The wall for speed acceleration is more versatile tracking, while for fixed it is speed of reactive aiming (faster flicks with better precision). Also strafing plays more into tracking with speed acceleration, while it plays more into micro-adjusting aim with fixed. So a speed acceleration player is going to prefer their weapons have a high ADS movement speed and better recoil control, while a fixed speed player is going to prefer having faster ADS time and BSA. This is in terms to what is generally and comparatively optimal for which, as everyone is going to have their own preferences and pet peeves at the end of the day.
Also, I feel fixed is more optimal with auto firing guns, while speed acceleration is more optimal for single shot weapons like shotguns, sniper rifles and marksman rifles since tracking fire becomes more nullified with those.
