Wow! I am impressed. I think high clearance vehicle would be a must for this road. With my little Honda Civic I will stick to the main road the next time I am out in Tucson which will probably be in June of this year (2024).
The music I think matched perfectly with what that road looks like lol. Thx for the video u have no idea! We have been up to Lemmon several times and always wondered what this road would be like. Now I know! Thx
That music ruined the video, I hope you had a full size spare tire in the back (they usually dont come with one), and why didn't you stop at peppersause cave?
Nicely done. Cool drone footage. Question: Is the road open all the way to the top, by the Fire Station? I know it was closed after the Aspen Fire, but I never followed up on it.
Thanks for your comment. The road is/was open when we made the video to the "top" which is where the dirt road (Mt Lemmon Road) ends at the fire station, which is at about 8200 feet elevation. It may not be open currently due to the rain and snow at the upper elevations this past week. We went up after some rains and in places the road was very muddy but no issues negotiating the road. However, I would not want to attempt this drive in the snow.
This Cayenne has air suspension which at maximum height gives a total ground clearance of 10 inches which was more than enough for the sketchier stretches of this road.😅

Nice ride! Ever take it off any sweet jumps?

Some of my family can get a little nervous driving along mountains...do you recommend driving this way as opposed of the main highway?
Take the high way it's rail guarded the whole way and plenty of pull offs for sights
How did you feel in the upper quarter of the road when it started getting more rockey? Any issues with ground clerance?

How do you get to the back road? Lived here 6 years and only know the main road to Summerhaven
Take Hwy 77 {Oracle) north to the town of Oracle, turn right West American Ave, then turn right onto Mt Lemmon Highway.
how long did it take from trail head to the top?
Trip took about 3 hours. We stopped several times to take pictures and video.
What kinda 🚘 is that?
Porsche Cayenne S, 8cyl, AWD, air suspension, front/rear locking differential, 8 speed, 400hp.
