This is the most helpful video you have made, and it might be the best Lorcana video online right now. It’s filled with practical advice for players of every type, skill level and budget. Thank you! Fun hypothetical: if you’ve got two of the three starter decks and you have to make a deck including one color from each starter deck with no other changes allowed, what color combo do you play, and what is the strategy? I’d imagine the answer is Amethyst + something for draw and recursion purposes, but I’m interested to hear what you think and why!
The other guys can feel free to comment their own ideas, but with the limitation of only using Starter deck cards, I’m personally building Amethyst/Steel. Decent card draw and removal among limited options. I would also consider Emerald/Amethyst though just because the Emerald deck has Jasper, Mad Hatter, Mother Knows Best, and Peter Pan that can really put some pressure on. -Jacob

I love that y’all brought up Mulan!!! I think she’s so damn good and its why i enjoy amber ruby princess and start questing heal rapunzels and ariels for 4 lore each due to moana and thats without fan the flames!

I had a great time in Traverse Taverns starter deck challenge, and for what it’s worth it hurt my soul but I won both games I was forced to ink Heroic Outlaw.
Emerald/Ruby (Red Green) is honestly a VERY fun color combo if you enjoy creating tough decisions for your opponent or manipulating the stats of your own characters. It’s a little harder to play than the other 2 if you are still learning, but once you get it, it’s extremely rewarding. -Jacob
I’m not sure why that one guy said that to “play” a card is to resolve it, because it’s not true. It even says in the rules that COME WITH A STARTER PACK, “PLAYING A CARD: Playing a card just means taking it from your hand and putting it faceup on the table.” You can even watch gameplay with the creator of the game, and he used those “when you play this card…” abilities when you put the card down faced up.
I was referring to the Facilier that has an ability trigger when you play a song. The song has to resolve because actions don't have an "ability" that triggers when played. They just happen. Then Facilier would see it afterwards. If it was an ability that triggers when a character is played, and you play a character with an "on-play" ability, then you get to choose the trigger order because the ability happening is separate from actually playing the card. Hopefully that makes sense.
Belle is the combo, the enabler, and the win condition all in one card. Kind of ridiculous lol. And the other part of the "combo" is literally just any inkable card in hand. Definitely OP compared to win conditions in every other color
you guys think you could make more videos about future deck combos like the steel amethyst one you made it’ll be really helpful for us to know some maybe “meta” combos and decks to help us out when playing thanks
Hey guys, rule question: When you shift, can you use that character that turn if the character you shifted onto was already on the field (played on a previous turn), or does it always has summon sickness? If you play it on top of an exerted character, do you play it exerted too? Thanks!
If the character underneath’s ink was dry, then the shift character’s ink is dry and ready to go as well! As for your second question, the shifted character would enter exterted as well. The easiest way to think of it is that the shift character maintains all of the properties of the character beneath it.
New to this (btw amazing video). Quick question, is it not recommended to mix at all? I know you can use any two colors, but do these just synergize best? Or would amethyst and steel work somehow?
Hey thanks for watching! Here’s the thing, mixing other colors could certainly work for you if you just want to try it against other starter decks, but the only issue of mixing two different starter decks together is that you don’t get the benefit of consistency that you get from combining 2 of the same. (Since you’d still be using only 1 or 2 copies of most cards)
If you have multiple decks, you can mix and match as long as you have at least 60 cards between the 2 colors, but you will struggle more to have a good curve and number of inkable cards. It’s recommended to keep the decks in their own color pairs when played against each other, but when you’re building your own deck you can do whatever 2 colors you want!
There are currently no plans to include those properties into the game. Especially since they already have their own respective card games that feature them. Who knows in the far far away future though ;)
It is very hard to tell but I can definitely see the enchanted versions holding a premium to the cold foils. Mainly because they are the highest rarity of card you can get. However, they will both be pretty rare it seems so probably will not effect it to much.

Awesome job! Some of this is a matter of personal preference, but I would lean toward adding in the 4 Jasper, 2 Genie, 4 Flynn Riders, and 2 more Heroic Outlaw. To get there, my cuts would be 4 Sudden chill, 1 Prince Ali, 1 Street Rat, 2 Hans, and 4 Cheshire Cat. I like Flynn more than sudden chill, and I only think running more than 4 low cost Aladdin's is worth it if you have plenty of Heroic outlaw. However, if you are leaving the extra 2 out, then I could still see cutting the same cards except the 2 Hans. You have clearly have a very solid Deckbuilding mindset though because your deck looks like it'd work great. -Jacob

I was wondering/Curious if you guys have a Instagram for RSD? Or individually?
Thank you so much for the kind words! As for the podcasts, our individual schedules got pretty hectic to align for weekly or even bi-weekly podcasts recently. We’ve always wanted to be a “one stop shop” for any kind of lorcana content, but the content that’s been the easiest for us to make consistently is the gameplay content recently. We can record those in bunches and then spend time editing on our own time (or even long distance) to make the high quality we like. That said, we do want to get back to making the podcasts at least semi-regularly, but scheduling that will be more realistic down the road since our schedules won’t align that soon for the in-person show style we like to do. We don’t have an instagram yet since that’s not a platform any of us use individually, but I can definitely see the value in making one soon. Our most used social platform for short form content and community discussion is X(Twitter) by far. I post there and chat with other members of the community almost daily. -Jacob
