Love coming back to this song every once in a while.. played this in my 7th grade UIL competition and I was doing the bell sounds in this piece with the piano and absolutely loved it 😩
I did this for my 7th/8th grade middle school year. I was Crach cymbal, and the amplified metal Slinky, and Triangle Love this peace. 2:20 my fav part.
the piano part gets me so much man🥲 my middle schools advance band played this and it sounded so nice especially the piano it made me wish my band teacher gave us this song even though im in intermediate band😅
We are doing it for the Symphonic Band at our school it’s fun! It sucks that you’re band program cut it hopefully one day you get to play it at a concert 😁
James nah, it’s a nice piece, but the guest conductor cut it because the program was simply too long. Our actual band program is way too high a level now to play this, but it’s nice in theory. Thank you though
Our band was lucky enough to meet the composer of this piece at one of our summer camps. He was amazing, and very talented. You could tell he was passioniate about his work. Great piece!
I did this piece for the Troy University Clinic and Brian Balmages conducted… it was an amazing experience!! I did the clarinet part and it was so fun to play!! 💕
Im doing this song for a concert im in 7th grade and me and 3 other people are going to Lodi High to play with 100 other people😳 wish me luck im soo nervouse😕😳😳😆
I play horn and I almost never get parts like this. Our band director told us to raise our horns 90 degrees to the side and play very loud. The part for horns is mostly rests, but that part completely makes up for it. :D
You really feel like ur in a field with wonder in ur eyes in the milled of the music it really gets in you deep I can’t wait to play that music for our UIL
who else is here to discover what the hell happens there where you should play? (I play the oboe in this and i agree that this is soooo beautiful piece :0)
We played this in middle school and got gold at completion for it. Now concert band is playing another piece from him ( When Spirits Soar) and im super jealous because im in the advanced band and i dont believe we play similar music 😤
I’m playing this for a concert and I swear this is the entire energy of the band Flutes: We have to trill for 29 measures Trumpets: We also have to trill for (insert amount of measures) *i forgot* And them there is me (oboe) and the French horns from 108 to the end: WAIT!! YOU GUYS ARE GETTING TO PLAY?????
I'm currently trying to learn how to play this as a first clarinet. It's actually pretty easy and cool ngl. 😎 don't worry my band is actually doing really well in terms of sight reading this piece. There's only two first clarinets and we're both like, "don't do this to us 😭😭)
if anyone has played this in band could i have some tips? i do percussion lol we are learning this song Edit: just played this for festival, we did awesome!
This piece was so annoying. I play trumpet and I had to do 2nd part trill even though I was first part (my band director wanted me to help the second trumpets..) and the fingerings were F# & D over and over again. (2 valve and 1 & 3 valve)
This Piece, will be the death of me
Was lucky enough to have the piano part when I was with my High School band. Fantastic piece.
I’m playing it today for judges! It really is a fun piece to play
@@doggly8948 I just played for judges too, what school did you go to to play?
I get to play it this year and i’m so happy
Love coming back to this song every once in a while.. played this in my 7th grade UIL competition and I was doing the bell sounds in this piece with the piano and absolutely loved it 😩
Literally one of the most exhausting pieces I've played in a while.
2:30 sounds so ominous and I love it

The trumpet piece is amazing
Ahhh yes a fellow trumpeter who is playing this song 🎺
Now I know there are some French Horns lurking in here, don't think I don't hear the part where you get to play super loud ;)
Mitosis yes sir!
First horn reporting!!!
You already know bro
How do you catch me 😨 I love that part tho, we’re playing this in band and I finally learned it
It says metzo forte but I ingnore that and say forte
I did this for my 7th/8th grade middle school year. I was Crach cymbal, and the amplified metal Slinky, and Triangle Love this peace. 2:20 my fav part.

Umm… what kind of cymbals lol
euphonium player here 2:20 is my favorite too
Yes I am rn 8th grade clarinetist!!
I wanna freaking cry every time I hear this piece
the piano part gets me so much man🥲 my middle schools advance band played this and it sounded so nice especially the piano it made me wish my band teacher gave us this song even though im in intermediate band😅
I almost did this for my 7th/8th grade mid-state honor band a few years back, it was one of my favorites and they cut it out :,(
Too bad... maybe you will get to play it again some day?
We are doing it for the Symphonic Band at our school it’s fun! It sucks that you’re band program cut it hopefully one day you get to play it at a concert 😁
James nah, it’s a nice piece, but the guest conductor cut it because the program was simply too long. Our actual band program is way too high a level now to play this, but it’s nice in theory. Thank you though

The trombone part in this song is one of the most simple yet the most fun trombone part (I played trombone 2)

Back when I played this in middle school I always imagined this as a superhero theme, and to this day I feel the same.
Ik you said this like 3 months ago but when I played this in 8th grade I always thought of it as a superhero theme especially at the climax
This song is very special to me cause in eighth grade I got chosen to be a fourth clarinet in high school band for UIL and this was my favorite song
2:24 the band director said "FRENCH HORNS PLAY FF THIS IS YOUR MOMENT TO SHINE"
I play horn and I almost never get parts like this. Our band director told us to raise our horns 90 degrees to the side and play very loud. The part for horns is mostly rests, but that part completely makes up for it. :D

playing it for my final concert hooray
Played it last year and I miss it😢
1:11 that weird sound was it an accident or intentional, am I missing something?
RANARMAN ! I’m pretty sure it’s intentional but I’m not 100%🙃🥖
@@pebble5335 idk it sounded like a flute crack
Not at exactly 1:11, but there is this weird spot that is an amplified slinkie

Slinky, the metal kids toy that goes down stairs by itself.
3:11 💕
I played this and Arrows for festival in freshman year. I was the only freshman out of the three flutes on 1st in all the songs we played
I had the piano piece #classof2018 my senior year
