I was born and raised in Yerington and now just moved to Carson City after being gone since early 80s...did feel the 5.8 and not much else. Haven't heard of any damage in Yerington, doesn't meen there isn't any. Will be going there on Christmas so will find out and will report back. Thanks for reporting on this.
Hi Mary. I'm in Fallon Nevada, and I can tell you that 5.8/5.7 was the most intense and scary quake I've ever been in. I though the house was going to come off its foundation. Big pop, a lot of rumble/scrapping, then another big pop, about 20-30 seconds of up and down vibration, then it turned into about 6 inch north-south movement. Even now I can feel some ground movement. I'll be leaning on my hand then all of a sudden I'm unbalanced. Constant since the 9th. That and the Carson City quake we had a couple years ago.
Live in Carson City. Keeping an eye on the house has no cracks yet. I let my lady know where the emergency gas shot off is outside just in case I'm at work if something big comes.
Hope the snow cools off the yellowstone area. Between the madris and the stone, we could be looking at some crazier times. Stay safe and warm. ML&BLSNGS:)
I've lived in MTN.home, Arkansas for almost 28 years& have felt&seen the earth quakes, the buildings are all cracked&streets, the city&state don't want the truth to come out because of money being made❤😊
I think what's happening is that the additional faults are widening and piggybacking on to the older ones that haven't been active but they're still there so it's going to be like a chain reaction I don't think there's a whole lot that can be done probably going to touch bases with the Hayward fault

The new seashore. 😊 Watched a documentary on this fault and it runs all the way to the Colorado River down by Las Vegas. It showed California splitting off and heading north west. How fast is still a question. I think the next big one will be there. That will be devastating. The dams would break on the Colorado River. Huge walls of water hitting Laughlin ,Golden Valley, Bullhead, Lake Havasu City,...you asked for my opinion 🤔 😊

THANKS MARY, Full Moon today, some rare one, something about the moon and sun at the edge of the horizon or some such. Plus, the Geminids Meteors are in full peak. Hope someone out there has clear skies. Also, on Jan 25th (give or take) until Feb 28th of 2025. There will be a planet parade, like 6 planets visible at the same time. Stay safe everyone, get food, water, meds ready, if not for crazy times but for price gouging, they are on the rise again. ML&BLSNGS :)

😳 there's the Garlock fault line and we have fault lines in Clark County, I believe.
