I like VRP. I have found that diluting it about 1:1 with distilled water . Doing so allows me to use it with a sprayer. I works great on my trim and tires. I seems to last about as long as using it straight.
I used this on my engine and interior. Makes the interior look awesome and lasts.
VRP is one of my favorite tire enhancers
Easy to apply
Leaves tires with a dark nice shine.
Dries to the touch with very little to no sling.
Affordable price.
I add it to gift baskets for my customers and they love it also.
Fairly close to Adam's VRT but cheaper.
Cajun Kevin It makes the tires look really nice IMO. I’m sure your customers love it. That’s awesome that you do that. Adam’s is a little bit better but like you said CG is cheaper.
I never use a sponge to apply dressing. I use a soft circular small wool like pad. This is what worked for me. Cool video thanks for sharing.

Great review man. Honesty is key. Seems like it does work awesome on tires. I love the VRT and I know this product is much cheaper. They both have there uses I guess. That water streaks are killer. I've heard diluting it and using it for inner fenders works well too. Gotta give it a shot. But, nice video brother!!!
PapaSmurf918 Thanks! Yeah I could have easily showed how nice it looked and never said anything about water taking it off but that’s not me. It did great on the tires though so I will continue to use it on them. I plan on diluting it and trying on the engine compartment. Thanks bro
Great video Brian👍 Maybe you can experiment a little with it over time & try different techniques or maybe try dilution ratios or something🤷♂️ Looks like it worked really well on the tires👌👌 On a side note.... The left headlight was driving me crazy when I saw it🤪 I think you are overdue on changing your headlight fluid😜😎😉😁
IntervalePC Thanks! I will experiment with it for sure. Yeah there is still some headlight fluid left in there so i think I am ok for now. Haha Trust me i want to buy a new one but man are they expensive since Dodge still has the patent on them.
Please, what is the link to the video where you completely removed all the oxidation off the trim?
Have a 2017 VW Alltrack which has the black plastic fender cladding. Had the exact same issue in the rain - had run marks all down the side. Worked better on tires but not great. Now on the trim, I use 303 and works great. Also, Use hyper dressing on tires and sometimes on trim 4 : 1 and again no issues.
Brian Greco Thank you for the info! I knew I couldn’t be the only one that had this problem. You are the second person that said they use 303 on the trim. I like VRT personally but i plan on either painting or dying the trim this summer. Thanks for watching and commenting

I have an SL 55 in Florida using VRP. Never an issue. Lasts about 10 -14 days
I think the trim dressing works well on tire cause the tires have oils in them. plastics can dry rot if not protected when knew. I'm probably wrong about that but that's my thinking. nice video FAB!!!

Daytona 5.7 Yeah but it is what it is! I thought the tires turned out good but that’s my opinion.
I found this nu finish spray wax I tried it over the weekend and loved it and it beads water really well if you haven’t tried it I would like to send it to you to review in the future!
Try ceramic coating on plastic trims after cleaning and wipeing them with alcohol. They makes the trim looks real nice and it lasts for a long long time.
I love this on tires! I use it straight. So I don't know how it would last if it was cut down... Never used it on the trim though! I can't compare it to Adam's, because I have never used any of their products.. Good video!

I used the waterless spray by chemical guys for the door jams I don't know lol but it gives a little protecting it gives a little shine but it smells ok little slick feel to it but great video anyway thanks fab
For the streaking you may have trapped oils / etc under the VRP coat on the front driver side, I usually use their nonsense solution to strip that in 20:1 before I apply anything, gets the material down bare
Cleaning it with nonsense is the key!!!!!! As a detailer you should know that
You dilute the nonsense 20 parts distilled water to 1 part cleaner?
Good review. I have used both with similar results. Sometimes you get what you pay for. However I am a firm believer that expensive doesn't mean that it is the best. I have purchased expensive products thinking that they would perform better than less expensive ones and have been disappointed.

B Stewart ExecutiveCarCare Yeah expensive definitely doesn’t mean better that’s for sure. I have had no issues with VRT like I have had with VRP. You are welcome.
I love this stuff. I use it straight for the plastic trim and tires. I also have a spray bottle with a diluted mix and I spray the inside of my fender wells once a month and it keeps them nice and black. Makes a noticeable difference in the general look of the car when the fender wells are kept treated.
After about a few or so have you ever had it spot or streak
@@clintsaines9274 I’ve had it happen before when I didn’t wipe it in good enough. You have to wipe it in, and if it’s spotty you may need a 2nd coat.

Got try there aerosol trim coating that stuff works wonders. Lasts for months.
I used this in the past, I prefer Wolfgang trim sealant it doesn’t streak.
Tpr1634 Yeah I wasn’t to impressed by it.
You shouldve spread the vrp first before rubbing it in. Thats why theres more glossy parts in one area than the other. It use to streak on me until i started to spread and gently applied it onto the trim.
I love vrp I use it on my interior dashboards doors and tires not much shine and nice black doesn’t sling on the road and last a while
I have not tried it on the interior but I just used it on engine plastics and it worked very well.
i put mine on my plastic running board and after the rain fall which been falling here for couple of weeks off and on and it held up pretty well and my yukon is a 03
Elvis Best Glad to hear you had good luck with it. I like it on tires but haven’t had much luck with it on plastic.

I love this on tires, keep in mind it is water based, and won’t last long! May not be good for trim if you want it to last.

I think if you like “the stain tires” look, then ya this is great. Cust and I myself like the tires to look like super wet look. Tire shine from G&G look no futher. Yes I know it’s silicone base. Also for trim I feel that solution finish is the best. Nice factory look.
TheBennynyc2 I like a nice satin finish! I personally have never been into the wet look but everybody has different opinions on tire shines. I have heard solution finish is good.
FAB Automotive Detailing solution finish has black and gray colors. It really looks great not grease and lasts a long time. A little goes a long way.
Thank you for this video. I wanted to try out the VRP from CG, but I think I’m going to see if the Meguiars Hyper Dressing will be best suited for tires and plastic trim. I was hoping vrp would hold up better to water. If I use or if you use VRP again, I’d suggest a protectant on top to keep water from sitting and staining it. Maybe a ceramic coating could help or interior detailer with hydrophobic protection?
Johnathan Crumm You are welcome! My go to for trim is VRT from Adam’s. VRT last me a few weeks even when it rains. Tires I really like Ethos Tire Shine or CarPro PERL.
I’m pretty sure after you apply it let it dry a little then take a micro fiber and buff it off and I think it will take some of the streaking off
I live in So Cal and I get the same results from rain. I agree, I love it on the tires but for trim..... ??????????
dj 91 Yeah i really expected better out of it on the trim. You are right though the tires look great and lasted a week with rain and snow.
It’s water based. Water takes it off. I love it.
I have VRP as well. If it helps. I spread the lotion before applying, i notice you did a line on your sponge then applied. Thats were u see the mark or streak. Its an awesome product
You mean you spread it on the sponge?
On the VRP i got about two weeks on tires and a week on the trim and after it rained the VRP streak on the trim on the bummer. VRT does last longer . Good review . And that fitbit for counting ice cream intake LOL joking

I use VRP exclusively on my tires. Being water based, I knew going in that it wouldn’t last too long. For me personally I hate what silicone based products do to my tires.
Andy Bell I can see why you like it on the tires because I thought it looked good on mine and lasted a week. I agree water based is the way to go.

@@FABAutomotiveDetailing I get you on that. It just sounded like it would damage the tire or something. I was thinking on using this product you tried on the plastics around my convertible top of my 2001 c5 corvette to keep the seals in good condition. Do you think a silicone would be better for that? Or is there something you detail guys use to keep those for those spots I don't know about? Not really caring about looks. Just want the longest lasting thing to put on them so water doesn't come in the car from dried out seals... Thank you for your input
@@shannontuttle5754 I would actually use a aerosol silicone spray on the seals. Just spray it on a towel and wipe it on.
Yeah, i love VRP as it is BUT... My driver's side window opened One night while raining. My door panel looked just like your fenders from a bit of rain water! Looked good tho before it washed away.
I'll stick with 303 for the plastic trim...but for tires maybe window trim..😎

I just used this yesterday evening on my f150 in north Florida. It was humid last night and had some dew last night. Woke up today to streak central! I want to love it but man it looked horrible.
Also didn’t dilute, used a microfiber pad to apply it.
Does it streak when it rains or gets wet??

Their Tire Shine does not streak on plastic when it gets wet.

runs like crazy on black plastic trim when rained on looks like garbage but great on tires and plastic vinyl dashes though

Purchased this in 16 oz bottle the product was thick and made the tire dark and black. After I ran out, I purchased the gallon and it was so runny/watered down. I thought may be someone may have returned it. I purchased a second gallon and again it was runny/watered down. After I run out I will get car pro or different item.
I also purchased a gallon and thought it seamed a lot thinner than anything I seen on videos. I’m sure I could apply what I have with a squirt bottle! I even reached out to chemical guys, and no response! I’ve herd about guys diluting it, I can’t imagine how thin that would be.
@@mquick5 I only dilute it when spraying the undercarriage works pretty well. I've been using Adams wheel and tire cleaner and VRP at full strength, but only use few drops per tire using a microfiber applicator which provides a dark satin look (I don't like the shiny look.)
@@eddiegarcia9689 Wow a few drops per tire! It seams Chemical Guys has several products that are alike like VRP, G6 Hyper coat, and Hydro Shield. Along with several similar products to prep and clean before applying.

I hate dressing on trim, I find it causes accelerated aging forcing you to put more on. Tires though, all over it.
N English Some dressing I don’t like but my Favorite is Adam’s VRT and haven’t seen any problems so far. Yes they work great on tires.
Maybe you need to buff it after applying.
My tire dressing of choice, results on the fender flares is pretty shitty.
JM Mustangs Yeah it looks good on tires and lasted but fender flares were terrible.

Wish I’d of seen this video, before purchasing a gallon of this vrp. Stuff looks worse than untreated after a light rain. Just like you said it’s a glorified tire shine.

I've had hard plastics that just don't accept dressings not even dyes like Forever black. Sometimes you think they are clean but really aren't and that prevents the dressing from penetrating the pores and bonding. I think you should avoid CG products because they don't seem to work for you. I have shelves full of their stuff (I've tried just about everything they make) and haven't been disappointed yet. That's just how it goes sometimes ;-)Maybe CG just isn't MOPAR friendly - they sure work on Chevys! LOL. PS - You're better off knocking down any dressig you use with a microfiber after application especially water based ones or you risk streaking and runoff from whatever didn't dry and bong when water hits it. Just my experience. PS - Have you tired 303 Aerospace on those? I'd clean them both heavily with something like Mothers HD trim cleaner and put 303 on them - you have to wipe down 303 after application.
My luck with CG has been terrible! I have 1 more Chemical Guys product I will try and if that isn’t any good then I will give up. It’s because it’s hard to make a Mopar look better then it already does! Haha I have wiped some products down but Adam’s VRT self levels and last 2 weeks no problem. I will look into the 303.
so just throwing this out there, you probably want to degrease the plastic or whever youre applying it, before actually applying it, otherwise it wont bond correctly, that has been my experience
The adams v.r.t.product is the superior product. but at $100.00 a gal and chemical guys V.R.P.at $38.00.a gal .the adams product is just too expensive.Bye the way i dilute both products 50/50.
remus421 I agree Adam’s is a lot better. Adam’s is over priced compared to CG that’s for sure. I’m actually still working on my first VRT bottle. I keep track of how many cars I get out of one bottle to see what it actually costs me. I have a little less the 1/2 the bottle left and I have used it on 14 cars. That’s not bad in my book. I use it on tires and trim. I think I can get close to 25 cars out of it. That’s less then a dollar a car so that’s actually not all that bad.

johnnypro It looked good on the tires and held in there for a week with rain and snow. That’s why i gave it 1 thumbs up. On the trim though it’s terrible IMO.

I find it fades way to fast under ten hours and it looks terrible and it’s like you never applied anything on it. I cleaned the trim and tires very well, wanted that new tire low gloss look and got tires and trim that are dull and faded and look worse 10 hours after I applied It! expected more out of this water based junk!🤬
I’m sticking with real retail products for now on like Meguiar’s, Meguiar’s Professional, Armor All, Eagle One, Mothers, Stoner, SuperClean and Turtle Wax because they work. This junk, these so called professional product companies like Chemical Guys, Adams, Angle Wax, Gyeon, CarPro so on and so on that try to sell us their overpriced products for $15-$100 just don’t work. I will stick to my $5.99-$10.00 products that are tested and proven to work and will out perform professional garbage any day.
akaredcrossbow I agree! If you want a good tire shine I would look at Ethos Car Care it’s my favorite tire shine. Griot’s Garage also has a great tire shine called Black Satin and you can buy it at Autoparts stores for usually around $9.

Thanks! I like to explain everything the best I can. When I talk to little I get told I didn’t explain enough. When I “babble” which I tend to do I’m told I talk to much. It’s a no win situation on TH-cam!

It's looking worse because you didn't apply it correctly. You should work it into the applicator first, not in a concentrated blob. It'll go on more evenly that way
