    Did you fix the speakers so their wireless connections work properly now, so the sound doesn't cut out constantly when the speakers and controller all regularly try to change their 5ghz wi-fi channels mid-movie?

      The Theater Quad has two antenna, and offers channel scanning and channel hopping specifically to make sure it is extremely stable.
      The channel hopping will switch channels if the one it's using gets too crowded and you should not notice anything as that happens.

    The quad system Sony had before (the cilinder speakers) was absolutely amazing. If this is better, than we are for a treat. They look great. Just get the more expensive subwoofer (goes deep, loud and fast for what most people expect), the cheaper one is not very good, it's just a boombox, not worth it.

    I wish they'd allow end-users to connect their own subwoofer, sort of like how the Sennheiser Ambeo allows. I've used their top of the line Sony Sub, and it's just not anywhere close to my SVS PB3000, which I wish I could pair to something like this.

    • @johnduggan1421
      @johnduggan1421 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is my biggest holdup too. I’ll be upgrading from Sony’s HT-A9 setup, which is also only compatible with the same two proprietary subs. I have the better of the two, but it falls far short of the quality you’d expect from such an expensive system. Hoping they announce a new top tier compatible sub sometime this year.

    • @DerekFromSony
      @DerekFromSony 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's a fair request. I can't guarantee what will happen, but I will pass that on. Of course, the advantage of using our own is understanding how it works so we can create a balance of the cutoff. Third party subs can wrinkle that a bit. Clearly you have some knowledge on it, but many don't and may not use cutoff properly which could ruin the experience.

      I asked that same question the other day on the Sony After Hours Support show and was told it was because Sony believes that they have already dialed in the optimal sound performance for these devices and providing an EQ would only allow them to deviate from that point of optimality. The problem there (and what that line of thinking entirely overlooks) is that some customers have hearing damage due to working in an industrial or military setting for many years and they literally NEED to be able to boost certain frequencies to be able to get closer to the point of optimality for THEIR (damaged/age deteriorated) hearing and ears. This is effectively an "accessibility" issue. Unless those customers can make those EQ-type adjustments to certain specific frequencies to try and compensate for their partial hearing loss, a product without EQ settings is of little or no actual use to them. This is what Sony has failed to take into account here with their decision to leave out an EQ. Hopefully they will re-consider this in the future and add that feature in on ALL of their sound bars and surround systems going forward.

    I love this new model Chris and great demonstration! I have two questions if I may ask. I have on older 75 inch Sony model called 900e. It still works and looks great. It has only arc not earc and the 900e model does not support Dolby Atmos.I have a ps5 and I use that for my video games and to watch apps such as Netflix. The PS5 does support Dolby Atmos. If I bought the Bravia Theatre Quad system can I plug the PS5 directly into the input port in the box and through the output port plug that into my TV ,if I did that would the Bravia Theater Quad system be outputing Dolby Atmos sound? Question two is if the system is using the phantom center speaker can it still use the voice enhancing A.I for me to hear clearer voices or does the TV have to be used as the center speaker itself to use that technology? I believe my model the 900e was not designed to be the center speaker. Thank you for your time Chris I really appreciate it :)

    • @Chris_from_Sony
      @Chris_from_Sony 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for your question. I owned your TV model also. 1st. That TV model like you said doesn't support Atmos. If you are using another source(PS5) using an app that supports atmos and the PS5 does support Atmos then yes the Bravia Theater Quad will decode atmos if the PS5 is passed thru the BTQ before the TV so will hear that format thru the BTQ as long as a source content is compatible. 2nd. You do not need HDMI 2.1 nor eARC to pass atmos. eARC does have a wider bandwidth but it is not necessary. 3rd. The Bravia Theater Quad is not going to change the fact your TV model doesn't support atmos . Both devices at the ends of the hdmi cable need to be compatible to that format for it to accept the format or others. 4. Your tv model doesn't support acoustic center sync but using the phantom center feature with DSEE ultimate the BTQ will compensate to give you the experience of having a center channel. Acoustic center sync is a great feature and with our new Bravia TV lineup and models from previous years. Hope that answers your questions. Take care.

      @@Chris_from_Sony First off thank you very much Chris for replying to my question with such detail I really appreciate you taking your time to do that. I just wanted to clarify with you if I may the differences between your point 1 answer and your point 3 answer . In point one I believe you said that yes I will hear dolby atmos as long as my ps5 is plugged directly into the box in the input and the output was going to my TV .... but in point three I am a little confused with your answer becuase you seem to say that both ends meaning the input to the box and the output going into my non atmos cable tv need to both be atmos compataible in order for the speakers to output dolby atmost. In simple terms if My ps5 is has dolby atmos but my sony 75 inch 900e model does not support dolby atmos will the Quad speakers output dolby atmos or not? Thanks again for your time Chris! Sincerely, Michael

      @Chris_from_Sony 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@InspirationalLiving No problem at all, it's what we are here for. Yes, running your PS5 thru the control box (HDMI in) of the quad will send any compatible audio track, (in this case Atmos) to the quad speakers from your compatible source and content (in this case your PS5) So, I would use the phantom center feature to take care of that for the tv, that is a feature on the Bravia Theater Quad. You will not use your tv speakers at all running any Sony Theater system when using HDMI. The tv will notice you have a theater system attached and will shut down the tv speakers when that system is powered on. (If your tv were compatible with Acoustic Center Sync then you would be able to use your tv speakers with the Bravia Theater Quad.) When the Bravia theater quad is not powered, your tv speakers will enable again and any soundtrack outside of Atmos that your tv is compatible with your tv speakers will send and you can use at your discretion. Does that make sense? Sorry for the long read.

    @SonySupportUSA How does the sound bubble get affected if you have to wall mount the rear speakers flat on the side walls (aka to the left and right of the main listening position) rather than behind the listening position?

    • @Chris_from_Sony
      @Chris_from_Sony 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great Question. One of the main features of the Bravia Theater Quad is the 360 Spatial Mapping & sound field optimization during setup. These unique features (no matter how you place your Quad speakers in your room) will calibrate the sound based on the speakers positions in the room, acoustics of your room and your listening position. Just keep in mind if you move any of the speakers around (to a different location) after calibration or add the SA-WS3 or SA-WS5 subwoofer after calibration (which do not come with the kit) you need to run this process again. I am looking forward to getting my own Bravia Theater Quad one day, I have been super impressed so far and I have demoed it in not-so-great environments like a warehouse recently for a few days during an offsite training. So, I can only imagine how it will sound in my home setup. Can't wait.

    • @MrBritishComedy
      @MrBritishComedy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Chris_from_Sony Thanks for your reply. All this is something that I know, of course. However, based on other reviews, I also know there is at least some difference between the quality of the sound envelopment between when the speakers are placed ideally around you, and when they are not. Certainly the fact that the rear speakers are going to face each other rather than the front speakers (as designed and intended) must at least to some extent be detrimental to the sound bubble. So I was hoping that someone has actually tested this and could share their real-life experience, before I invest my hard-earned money into this system - which definitely isn't cheap, especially since the sub is not included.

    • @Chris_from_Sony
      @Chris_from_Sony หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MrBritishComedy Of course having the speakers in a traditional setup scheme I'm sure will be ideal but it's not required (when you are using 360 spatial mapping for setup). I have tested this system in different environments and the speakers somewhat of an angle towards the listening audience, but not completely facing each other on the rears. I even was in a store last night where it is setup in a not-so-great (in fact horrible) store environment in an open area and I still got an experience I was pleased with. Having said that I have not tested them in the manner you have described. I will see if someone on our team has. Stay tuned....

If you have a receiver and you want to incorporate this product into one of your HDMI ports on your receiver to use the receiver as a component switch box (because you are using the HDMI port out of your receiver to your tv for all your components) you can to that. Hopefully that feature will be added in the near future. How cool would it be to hook up four, six or eight subwoofers to a system like this? It makes perfect sense. If the Sony party speakers with the Party Connect feature can have up to 100 speakers all sharing the same signal then why couldn't you similarly have up to 100 Sony subwoofers connected to your Theater Quad or your Sony soundbar? Now, I know that one is based on Bluetooth technology and the other is based on Wi-Fi, but still, it certainly would be amazing to have that as an option! (Plus, just think of how many more wireless subwoofers Sony would be selling right now today if they gave customers the option to hook up 100 of them wirelessly to their sound bars and HT-A9/Quad systems? Think of what type of a key differentiator THAT would be for Sony in the marketplace? Customers would go absolutely crazy for that. However, what I think Sony does need to do a better job of is actually listening to their customer's requests when it comes to product features. For example, they offer graphic EQ's in their TVs but not in their soundbars. Customers want graphic EQ's for their sound bars. Many need that because they have partial hearing loss and need to boost up certain frequencies. Additionally, they offer wireless subs for their receivers and sound bars which is great, but limit them to just one or two at most per device. Why? On the new quad system, if you pair it with the new Bravia 9 TV and use the center sync, do you know if the up-firing beam tweeters will also be used alongside the center tweeters, or whether just the center ones will be used. Thanks.

      We are always trying to find a design that is appealing to as many of our customers as possible while maintaining a quality first approach. We welcome feedback and suggestions around design and use case. We appreciate the feedback around the pricing of our new Bravia Quad system. It is worth considering what you are getting and how much one would have to spend to replicate this system. This product replaces an AVR, speakers, speaker wires as well as possible labor costs for installation and programming. We feel that in combination with the esthetic appeal that the value of this product is pretty amazing. Not to mention it really does sound incredible. I do hope that you get the opportunity to experience our Theater Quad in person.

    Sony promises alot and delivers little. We had a Sony Bravia TV and it's the worst we've ever used. The os, firmware, apps, usability is all laggy and slow. Couldn't even sync properly with a "matching" Sony blu-ray player 🤦🏻

    • @DerekFromSony
      @DerekFromSony 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry to hear you've had issues. Have you reached out to support? It sounds like a firmware update might be needed based on that... and if you've had issues running the update, that doesn't help. You can update our TVs with USB. You can pull up the TV model on our support page and search for downloads. I would also say, if you have a spotty HDMI cable with handshake issues, that could be the issue with the player, which may also need an update. I do hope this helps.

    • @Tanto069
      @Tanto069 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DerekFromSony thanks for replying Derek. Yes, we reached out to support who said this is the way the OS is on our Bravia TV and that there was no firmware update for it because it was considered "old". For the DVD player, we were using a 4k HDMI cable from Sony. In the end we've transitioned to another brand and been much happier. Maybe it could've just been Sony's CS here in Hong Kong, if we had someone like you maybe the experience would've been better.

    • @DerekFromSony
      @DerekFromSony 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Tanto069 I appreciate you elaborating on that. I can't guarantee I could've done more than support. But, one of the biggest challenges, and to be fair a frustration to some, is that the hardware ages. Sometimes the software just won't work on older equipment. I assume that was the issue here. Upgrading, even to another brand, would solve that. At least for now. If in the future, you are ready to upgrade, we would happily welcome you back!

      @@MurDar-x4q It is a different experience. Theater Quad has a much more streamlined, less intrusive look. Plus, the flexibility of being able to have them in different heights or distances to each other can make it a better fit for some rooms. It may not be your thing, and that's ok. But it'll be perfect for a lot of people. Theater Bar 8/9 would be more comparable to what you mentioned. Theater Quad is a different audio solution than a bar.
