Thanks ever so much for building this & to the artists for creating such lovely music. I had been disgusted with the state of pop, hip-hop, electro "music," that I refused to listen to any newer music. I was content to simply play what I like or create my own melodies. Unfortunately though, this is the first I have ever heard of or listened to the Arctic Monkeys. Having researched the band I'm now afraid that the studio or live performances may not live up to this incredible work of art. As all of the comments seem positive, I trust the fans that I will love their studio and live performances just as much. If the musicians didn't seem concerned with profit, I would be shocked this hasn't been released as an "unplugged" session. I'm jealous that I wasn't able to catch a live show, or listen to these guys earlier. But better late than never. Rock on everyone !!! If anyone has suggestions of other bands in this vein I might like, this old man would appreciate it. Thanks to all again.
I once thought the same thing, feeling all superior in my music tastes. But it's all bullshit, and here's why. Music has not gotten worse. The same 5 shitty, run-off-the-mill pop songs they play 24/7 on the radio have been a thing for decades. It's just that history does not remember the shitty music from 1985, it only remembers the actually good stuff that we decided was worth keeping around (or maybe you are a huge fan of Milli Vanilli's "Girl I'm Gonna Miss You", who knows). But many of the artist charting with meaningless dribble do so, only to have those songs sitting besides actually well-written, amazing music that didn't top the charts all on the same album. Thing is, if you enjoy more "indie", experimental music, that's something you have to look for because the mainstream won't give it to you. But that's how it's always been. The Arctic Monkeys are a great example: topping the charts with "Do I Wanna Know" in 2012. Now, if that song wasn't your thing you could make a case that it was a boring take on rock, but the entire album? Or their entire discography for that matter? You can't. Because no 2 albums of theirs are actually the same, they always try new things and are constantly evolving. Their 2012 album was the biggest they ever made, and they said "allright, see you guys in 7 years", dropping Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino, possibly the weirdest and most fanbase-splitting album I've ever seen. But you can't say that it's unoriginal, or meaningless. Because it isn't; it is at it's very heart, a risk. Ed Sheeran's newest album has the generic, overplayed song "Bad Habits" on it, but the song right before it called "First Times" calls back to his roots, to the melodramatic acoustic fingerpicking of "Lego House" and "A-Team". Coldplay's newest album, "Music of the Spheres", has the BTS collab "My Universe" on it, a song I have heard a hundred times too often blasted in the streets as I leave the house every morning. But it also has "Coloratura", a 10 minute long beautiful piano ballad with some of Chris Martin's best vocals. The mentality of "all music sucks now" isn't a sign of one's superior taste in music; it is proof one's inability to see the forest for the trees. Or rather, it's like you are walking through a forest and notice some thrash lying around, and use it to justify calling the whole forest tainted. You close your eyes and refuse to look, instead of acknowledging that someone will eventually clean the forest, and that the trees will still be there.
As for why this will never be released as an official album, the reason is pretty evident: this is not up to the bands' target quality. Guitars not tuned to perfection, low audio quality, missing some notes and sometimes straight up stopping the song because they are laughing: it's just not the kind of professional work they like to put out. It's not the level of quality they want to advertise to the world. That's not to say this album doesn't have it's charm, I wouldn't be here if it didn't. But it works better as a fan compilation than as an official release.
I though this was an actual album they made, I was wondering the fuck out of how I could have possibly miss something like that thanks to whoever made this by the way its amazing

His voice is so angelic, it's almost hypnotizing
really
We all spend so much time trying to be less vulnerable. Whenever I listen to these songs it reminds me it’s fine to be vulnerable and it’s fine to get hurt. Don’t know why
2 years later and i still listen to this on late nights or when i study. thank you so much for this 🖤🖤
I love how it ends with A Certain Romance like how it always should.
I am intoxicated with sadness
Snap out of it dear! :)
It's so beautifully sad. I always start missing people when I listen to these.
me too :(
yup
I think "beautiful melancholy" fits better for what I'm feeling
Please youtube gods let this video stay up forever. Have had so many amazing memories listening to this.

THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS ITS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED!!!
But it works better as a fan compilation than as an official release.
i’m here atleast 4 times a week ty for this
