Kung Fu Panda as a concept sounds like it should be a parody of Kung Fu movies. But it went in a different route completely, and became a loving homage to Kung Fu movies, and made it's comedy based in character and not in pop-culture references, so it ends up being timeless. From the beautiful art direction, choreography, and great dialogue, this has truly grown into a classic. Kung Fu Panda 2 is also great, it takes a slightly darker tone and I think people like it more than this one because the conflict is more personal to Po. Kung Fu Panda 3 is not as beloved as the first two, but it still holds up as a good movie. In terms of how consistent the qualities of movies from this franchise has been, I don't think it's an exaggeration to call this the best 3D animated movie franchise.
Also 1) I love that you guys saw more to Tai Lung's character than a big bad enemy that Po is trying to stop like how some others see him. 2)Prepare for the best animated sequel you guys have seen in your life. KFP 2 surpasses 1 in every way. Can't wait for your guys' reaction to it.
Yes, it kinda annoys me when people brush off Tai lung as a flat character, the movie creators literally made the backstory for him tragic for a reason
Kung Fu Panda 2 is one of those rare sequels that just about everyone agrees is better than the first To say nothing of just how damn good the first is, which speaks volumes of how good 2 ended up being on top of the first's success

I honestly can't pick one over the other, as the action was a lot better in the first along with the comedy, but 2 has much stronger emotional beats than the first with better developed side characters like tigress. I also mainly mentioned him because he has the first ranked higher than the second in his dreamworks ranking video.
Dreamworks villains are better. More powerful and more matured. While ik Disney is for children but look at Dreamworks. The Death Wolf is def my most favourite dreamworks villain. While Tai Lung is my second.
The scroll gave Po neither luck nor power. Tai Lung trained to deal with the most professional martial artists in the land, but was completely unprepared for the perfect storm of chaotic quirks that is Po. The scene where Tai Lung says the scroll was giving him power was him misinterpreting what was actually Po figuring out to use his appetite as motivation, just as Shifu did, because Tai Lung firmly believes that a panda like Po couldn't possibly do those things on his own and the scroll must somehow empower him. He doesn't understand that there is no secret ingredient, it's just you. And that's why he's not the Dragon Warrior.
Although i know almost everyone thinks the second movie is better, personally i think both of the movies are equally great and interesting to watch. Though in my opinion Tai Lung is better as a villain.

Po on the other hand barely used typical Kung Fu method, the way Po fought Tai Lung was more like a quirky-chaotic unpredictable mess rather than Kung Fu’s method which is why Tai Lung was so struggled against Po. That’s one of the reason Tai Lung thought the scroll was giving Po power
I wouldn’t say po won because of “luck”. I’d say more his durability and adaptability! How do you defeat an opponent you can’t harm? Also Tai lung was not invincible the furious 5 could’ve defeated him if they’d been prepared for his pressure point attack! Po was honestly just the best suited opponent for his quick and aggressive attacks!
