No you don't use the word, but others that look like you use the word and instead of getting called out for it, they are praised for it and celebrated for it. It isn't even blacks that are at fault for this... whites and other races as well. It was acceptable for blacks to say it and of course many blacks do say it... 0 repercussions. I am all on board. But, if the disparaged group decides its ok to use that word amongst themselves, then it means context matters. This is a lesson to all my black, brown, Latino, Asian, Native American people in this world. This is what they think of you. Systemic and institutional racism, hate mongering is their default switch. A majority (98%) of the "dominate society members" idealology and schema is based on hate, segragation, and capitalism. No mattter how much education, or how long you have worked at your job, no matter how articulate or intelligent you are they have shown time and time again, all that matters is the color of your skin. Because there are no consequences for their hate, they are able to rationalize it, and justify it by devaluing people of color.

To be fair, what was said is a cultural exchange that is not uncommon for Kyles generation. It is something that can be heard on a regular basis for those in this age group depending, of course, where you grew up, who you grew up with and the closeness of the friendship. To put a blanket of disciplinary over reaction on him shows a fear of open communication based on a lack of understanding of the people in his generation and how for the most part they have outgrown the stereotype of racism.

Kyle Larson is not a racist. He used the word as shock and dark humor. While I can agree it's not something he (we) should say, there's no way he meant to harm anyone by it. We're all guilty of saying things we shouldn't out of humor when we think no one is watching. But, that being said, outrage culture is real, and some of the ones who believe it's the worst thing you can say about someone are also probably making death threats towards him. So there's that.
