I was raised in Kimberley, my parents were too. Moved away over the summer and as of late have been rather missing it. Thank you for giving my town the appreciation it deserves. I've been missing home and you did such a good job of showing everything that is to be missed. Every shot I knew where it was and it made me feel like I was home. Thank you.
I went Snowboarding in Kimberley in 2006 (i'm from the Uk) and it was such a nice place! we couldnt believe how cheap it was and how friendly all the locals were to outsiders! I'd love to go back again one day :)
Hi, your comment of please come see Kimberley before it changes, is so true. Most of the Bavarian restaurants have closed (there is still one which is run out of a transported German barn- great food). Hubby and I came to Kimberley for years (30 likely). We miss the Platzle's Mozart House Inn (food and lodgings at a decent price), the Gasthaus and Chef Bernard's restaurant. Unfortunately the Bavarian theme seems to have lost the support of the city, and we miss it. The Accordion Festival also ended after 39 years. Yes, I think there have been other festivals. I'm not sure if they have been as successful as the Accordion one. We have not come for a few years. BUT, the people's friendliness and sense of being away from things, will draw us back I'm sure. Thanks for the video!
Hey man. Thanks for such a nice and wholesome video, showcasing our town. Very pleasent content and you're right there's so much you didnt even get a chance to try out and see. You'll have to come back during JulyFest and experience the festival experience. Thanks again!
@@DownieLive I recommend checking out Fort Steel, for some slay rides, Lussier Hotsprings and the "sun pit" on Kimberley's ski hill. Might have to ask a local if they'll take ya there..! Haha
OK Kimberly is on my bucket list Mike!!!!! I wasn't drooling too much and just hanging on until you came out with the ice cream! Your killing me. Place near me in Maine makes Kahlua Moca Chip! Chips are big chunks of chocolate. My favorite. Kimberly looks like a beautiful destination. You know Mike you are filling my Bucket List with the places you go. I am retiring next spring and hitting the road with my wife!!!! No motor cycle!!!!!!!
Aw my home town, I'm going back for the first time in 10 years this summer. All the years I lived there I never swam in Mark Creek. It looks less rusty and more inviting than it used to... Great swimming spots in the area are the St. Marys river also Norbury and Premier lake are close by. St Mary's lake is a little too cold for swimming imo.
I did a trip similar to what you are doing probably 10 years ago and it was super cute. I didn't do as good of a job exploring it as you and Jess did so I guess I need to go back. From Colorado, so may have to make another good trip out of it and add some more. Mint chocolate chip for me. Thanks for taking me along.
Great little town. If you enjoy little towns like this I have two to try out. One is Eureka Springs, Arkansas and the other is Helen, Georgia. Neither of those have snow skiing but they are nice unique little towns year round. I prefer Dulche de leche ice cream.
I know I’m a little late to seeing/commenting. Although the summer is great the winter is even better if you’re a hockey/skiing fan. Definitely has to be visted during both seasons!
it's a great little city with some amazing people. i live in Cranbrook and having Kimberley 20 minutes away is great because things slow down, the mood is more relaxed, and the people smile more. i learned to ski up there ??? years ago and the ghost of my left knee still haunts the north bowl. you have to try the North Star rails to trails next time.
Oh another excellent vid..my favorite ice cream would be rocky road or coffee .. you've officially made me want a cone lol ..thanks for letting me tag along!
I always get cookie dough and love any combination of peanut butter with chocolate so we are the same. :) just stumbled on your videos and they are wonderful! Keep on exploring.
Whoa! Channel’s on fire 🔥 Mike! Think I subscribed 4-5 weeks ago and looks like 22,000 new subs since then if memory serves me. Congrats! You deserve it 👍 Butter pecan btw
Great video. Too bad you couldn't stay longer, because there is SO MUCH MORE to see and do! I know, hard to believe, but it's true. Golfing (we have 3 courses in town and more within a 20 minute or so drive), Rails to Trails, where you can walk run, bike, roller skate, skateboard, etc, all the way from Kimberley to Cranbrook and back again, Cominco Gardens, hiking in the Kimberley Nature Park (one of the largest municipal parks in Canada and more than 800 hectares. It's more than twice the size of Stanley Park). And we even have great stuff to do in winter, too. There's downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, skating, indoor climbing wall, winter fat biking, taking in a hockey game (our local team, the Kimberley Dynamiters is AMAZING!) and MORE! Kimberley is an amazing place and we hope you get to come back for longer than a day and see all the rest we have to offer. It really *IS* a great place to be. :)
Passionfruit Sorbet or the other extreme, Butter Pecan or Maple Walnut or Rum & Raison or some similar flavor and if all else fails, the darkest chocolate or espresso!
@@DownieLive haha :D awesome. Btw what do you think about the mavic mini? Im a freelancer in webdesign (and development) and graphic design and I'm thinking about the DJI Mavic Mini to get into drone business. Would be a nice addition to my current services. Tho it lacks some nice functions like active tracking. Do you still think its also usefull for a professional level? Not like 4k footage, more like imagevideos for shops, websites etc. And maybe for other occassions, Weddings etc. Just for trying and getting in the other versions, like the air, are quite expensive

Yes Brigitte! I’d love to!
When’s the best time to ski?
January? February?

Absolutely, buddy!
You’re welcome anytime!

Well it's good to know that the city has changed, I was planning on taking the family there to see little Bavarian ..but I guess not .
I come for the town, the food, but mostly the mining history!
I stayed at that resort when wife and I drove from Anchorage to So California a few years ago. Recognized the pool and rooms.

My home town! By the way the river you keep mentioning is actually a creek, it is called Mark Creek and the falls are called The Marysville Falls.
Thanks Linda!
My hometown! But you didn’t even show off the falls though you started walking down there!
I gotta leave some things to be discovered by people 😄
3:57 the kid that said for kids it's fine is actually one of my best friends
Definitely chocolate ice cream!
Passionfruit Sorbet or the other extreme, Butter Pecan or Maple Walnut or Rum & Raison or some similar flavor and if all else fails, the darkest chocolate or espresso!
I would get Moose tracks ice cream vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cups and famous Moose Tracks fudge".
Dope video brah
Thanks for showing this little city in such an awesome way, but why didn't you show the falls in Marysville? You walked down there!
I did walk down there, but I figured I’d love things to be discovered on your own. 😉
this is why I like Canadians
I live in kimberley! And i grew up there😁 i love the town and every one k ows everyone
