I bought a used M1 Pro in Silver and when I got it it was Space Gray 😭. I kept it because it was such a good deal, but I look at it every day and wish it were silver 😂 The silver is the way to go.
Is there an embargo on benchmarking? Unboxing just doesn't hold much intreest these days. Would love to know your thoughts on it and if it will replace your current macbook pro.
im done with anodized color on mac. my 2018 mbp space gray has now these faded palm rest below the keyboard. now i just went with the regular silver m2 pro.
I feel like with how much light you and other TH-camrs use in your videos its going to reflect so much of that light, so me using it in my home office where i keep it fairly dark in here, it will probably look really black
There's a reason why I show it at different angles...I specifically mentioned that. It's also still...really really really dark grey. Or what Apple calls 'Space Black'
I think it doesn’t look quite black because it has a metallic like finish? I have a 2006 black MacBook. It is really black because it has a matte finish.
Thanks for the in depth comparison Brian. I'm moving from M1 to M3 and was having a hard time telling from the initial previews how much darker it would be over current space gray. Think under natural lighting it should be even darker. Bought my wife the midnight MBA a few months back and it looks really dark under natural lighting so was hoping it would be similar for the new MBP. This is gonna have to work unless Apple ever comes back with the old black A1181 MacBook colorware.
With the overhead lights that hit it yes, but that's why I showed all cameras angles that are more representative of it. It still looks dart dart feet or charcoal-like
Fingerprint magnetless is good. I actually like that laptop! If you want the best in line, you must pay to play. The pricing of the setup I want is almost $5k. It will be worth it though
I'm streaming and opening lots of tabs on my Chrome browser. So I need more than 16GB of RAM. Even 16GB right now with my M2 Pro MacBook Pro is not good enough. Next time, I'm opting for an off the shelf MacBook with at least 32GB of RAM. This M3 is looking good in Space Black. My wait will be 4 years from now. Good luck with that.
M2 pro here. A little annoying to see an m3 already this soon 😂 but at the same time. It seems like it's gray first of all for the space black and 2nd they only seemed to increase the gpu and of course cpu and doesn't look like they changed anything hardware wise besides more memory. Meh. Would have loved more usb ports, a usb A port would be amazing and at least for it to come with a thunder bolt 4 cable for Christ's sake. I paid 2600 for mine and I was lucky it even came with a 90w charger. I love nearly everything about it besides the boring keyboard and lack of usb 3.0/thunderbolt 4.0 slots. Really bummed however that I have the 2nd best mac book m2 you can buy 6 months ago and the video soc is barely a comparable 3060 video card 😢

Why can't they just get people to return their mbps and have the new innards swapped out with the new M3 chip? It's the same darn chassis right same display, same ports ???? Why do they keep saying recycled when that makes more carbon in the atmosphere, how do they expect to reach their so called imaginary goal ? Is it too fantastical to suggest what I suggested to just swap out all the innards in an otherwise it's the same chassis as the M1's and M2's?
Can no longer upgrade your MacBook Pro to 8tb like you used to unless you select the M3 Max chip driving the price over $6000, THAT’S A BAD APPLE!!! Gonna stretch my M1 Pro 16” with 8tb (that I got for nearly half that) for a long long time. Bad Apple, Very Bad Apple.

That isn't Space Black..... More like "Fifty Shades Of Gray" Outer space is actually pitch black this aint it lol. If you want to have black and no fingerprints buy a dBrand skin. It will not only let you customize your MacBook your way but also protect it from scratches and fingerprints.

who cares about fingerprints on the chassis? I hope theyve made the keyboard more oil resistant, that thing gets disgusting after a while, no matter how you clean it. I remember when I replaced my macbooks keyboard it felt like brand new
