My daughter just played completely through Stray on a 2-core Pentium G5400 and a Quadro P600. It wasn't that bad. (I did upgrade the TV PC after that to a 9100F and P620 already for $45, next 13100T and RX6500)
*need* single-slot lp gpus. Noone realy loves them. I just that Dell and HP are jerks and put the only pcie slot in the bottom line so you can only use single lot lp cards. I much rather have the pcie in the top line and be able to use 2 slots lp cards. I myself own a small form factor pc with a 4060 lp, and it rocks.

Pro tip: You can get a Zillion H610 Thin ITX PIO motherboard for under 100 (It was $73 during the fall sale) and a 12100-12500t or 13100-14100 processor (also around $80-100) with this card and use a 150w-240w power brick (The Zillion takes 19-20v). It uses laptop DDR4, but get dual rank Dimms 2rx8 (16 memory chips per module), because Intel runs better on dual rank. You could build a 1.9L PC for under 300. I keep telling the guys on MiniPC Rddit that it's better than trying to game on a 700 dollar Ryzen NUC, but they don't believe me 😂.
Great idea! However, the motherboard you mentioned does not have a PCIe slot. Building a PC without a GPU is not worthwhile since many used mini PCs are more robust and available at extremely cheap prices. Do you have another recommendation for a similar motherboard that has a PCIe slot? Thank you.
I hope you plan to run this on HoloISO or Bazzite. One good reason is the Proton backend can enable FSR on any title with the Vulkan renderer (I think). I picked up a couple for a steal (I got a pair for less than a returned 3050 Low Profile). I've also got a pocket eGPU made from an Xbox360 Slim power brick, a Thunderbolt NVMe enclosure, and a 'mining' M.2 to PCIe adapter.
I have done a little bit of emulation with batocera and whatnot. I would actually lean toward nvidia cards for their opengl performance. I know older AMD cards had issues with opengl, and my Rx 550 doesn't do great. Maybe newer amd card are better? I have been eyeballing a nvidia t600 or something similar.
You can use gt 1030 gddr5. A lot Will work on 1080p. Some harder games on the 720p original. Great card for 1080p emulation for ps2, gc, wii, wiiu and specially switch 😅
Man, I bought 3 of these cards on eBay last year really cheap( 3 for $200 ) to use on my SFF Dell PCs. There is even a Dell Rx 6500 xt but full height, too. And import to Brazil. After seeing your last video, I found an m920q. Installing the card on it works really well, besides the bottleneck caused by the PCIe 3.0 on this. I'm after an m90q to put me on an 11 or 12-gen intel here, but unfortunately, I believe this model never came to the Brazilian market. PS: did you make a 3d model of the backplate for it, too, as you do for the 6400?
But it only has 4GB of video memory, so I don't think there's any benefit to enabling the Above 4G Memory feature since it doesn't have that much memory.

However I was hoping you would have at least tested it on a PCIE 3.0 just to see how much of a loss you would receive, because if you're building a truly cheap PC most would use a 4000~8000 Intel or first 0r Second gen Ryzen off lease PC (since you can find them for less than $100).

Hello, I’m just doing an assembly of a sff pc and I was undecided between the Intel arc a510 LP, arc a580 lp and the rx6400 LP. I see that the rx6500 is performing more than the rx6400 and is at the same price as an arc a580. Do you think it’s better than the arc a580??? It should be noted that the a580 has 6GB of vram but it is LP dual slot and I’m not very sure if it will fit in the case

I think RivaTuner reads GPU Junction Temperature instead of GPU Temperature. Also, the fan speed is not running at full speed; maybe it's set in the vBIOS. MSI Afterburner cannot control this GPU. Thank you.
The GPU temperature is controlled by its vBIOS. When the GPU temperature is around 80°C, the fan only spins at 50%, so the temperature limit of this GPU might be higher than 80°C. Surprisingly, this GPU has a zero RPM mode where the fan won't spin at all if the GPU temperature is below 60°C.

The RTX 3050 single slot will be faster and also has more Vram. However, the AMD cards draw less power so may be better suited for some applications and will natively run cooler than the RTX 3050 6GB single slot. I have both the RTX 3050 6gb single slot card as well as the RX 6400 4GB single slot cards. I am getting better performance out of the RTX 3050 than I am with the RX 6400 but the RX 6400 was a plug and play card to get the best out of it while with the RTX 3050 I had to do some fiddling to get the cooling under control in the SFF case I have it installed in. In the end for me the extra work to get the RTX 3050 to perform it's best was worth it. The RX 6400 on the other hand right out of the box just delivered good performance with zero hassle even if it doesn't perform as well as the RTX 3050.
Actually I did a furmark on the T1000 and got a score of 2371. The 6500 got 2565 in his video using pcie 4. There will be a performance hit if using pcie 3
With this setup, the RX 6500 can achieve similar frame rates to the RX 6400 with low graphics settings, but on medium graphics settings. However, I tested the RX 6500 on a newer PC with PCIe 4.0, so I need to find out more in my next video. Thank you.
Not really, AMD has many more product lines below the RX 6600 XT, such as the RX 6300, RX 6400, RX 6500, RX 6500 XT, and RX 6600. You might need to do more research about that.

Alright, amazing that your GTX 1050 is better than the RX 6500. Since it's a full-size GPU with dual fans, it's not strange that it runs better than a single-slot low-profile GPU. However, it means nothing if I need a GPU for my SFF PC or a tiny/micro PC. You have AMD confused with Intel. Arc really needs Re-BAR to be enabled, AMD cards don't.

My xfx 43w speedster rx 6400 very slightly outperforms my dell 40w rx 6500. Both tested in an m720q with the cover off.
