really appreciate your work, and the - to the point - videos. well done :)
Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it. Been working to shorten and keep the videos concise and to the point, so it's great to hear your appreciation :)
I want these reviews to include how much PFAS is being reduced as well.
Thanks for your feedback!
You should fund it, it's $700 per pfas test, and there are smaller forms that would most likely be another test. Feel free to send the creator the funds

I look forward to the Waterdrop K19 in comparison to the AquaTru RO.
Thanks for adding your request!
Absolutely so grateful for this. Thank you!
I was able to cancel my Alexapure system (since your test showed it wasn't blocking fluoride) and I bought this Waterdrop system instead.
Just to be clear, our testing did NOT show that the Alexapure system was adding chlorine

Thanks for doing all this test. Very helpful. I'm very curious if you can do a similar test for the other Waterdrop countertop RO system, the WD-K19-S, which has only 1 filter (instead of 2 filters on this N1). Thanks again!
We'll put the K19 on our list for a future project. Thanks for the request!
I'm looking forward to the same review. I'm thinking of buying it as well.

Maybe test it at the 3 month, 6 month and 9 month mark to see how well it filters not fresh out the box maybe.
We had already been using this unit for 6 months before testing. Thanks for the comment and request! We'll make sure to include this info in our next video
Did the tests happen to mention arsenic? Im considering this unit primarily due to lower cost vs competitors.
Arsenic did not appear in the sample we used for this test. That said, reverse osmosis is one of the best methods for arsenic reduction, so it would be safe to assume any RO system is capable of reducing it.
Can you review the blueva ropot lite?
We've got it on the list for a future test project!
Was dichloromethane tested and xylenes? Thank you.
Yes, both were tested. Neither was detected in this test.

Hey man I had another question (sorry): is the waterdrop k6 filtering water as good as g3p600?
The G3 employs 9 stages of filtration, while the K6 has 5 stages.
How do you compare it to aquatru? Any concerns over having one filter media for RO vs separated like the aquatru does? Certifications?
I want to know this as well. The AquaTru is my benchmark countertop RO system, and it would be helpful to know how these other units compare to that one.
The AquaTru has is more efficient, with a pure to drain water ratio of 4:1, whereas the N1 is 3:1. Additionally, AquaTru offer a remineralization version of the final VOC carbon filter (aquatru.pxf.io/g1bJGv), whereas the N1 does not have a remineralization stage. The holding capacity of the AquaTru filtered water tank is larger, and its certified by IAPMO to NSF/ANSI standards 42, 53, 58, 401, P473. Overall, the AquaTru comes out on top as a superior product.
We tested the AquaTru with the exact same water source we used for this N1 test, you can check out the results here: th-cam.com/video/NubOZMtj68g/w-d-xo.html
Aquatrue link doesn't work
Can you test Waterdrop Countertop Faucet Water Filter System CTF-01
We've got it on the list! Thanks for your request
Have you tested a regular gravity water filter like the one from Klar Water? That's what I use and am interested as its very cheap in comparison to the others. I am from a non flouridated area so I don't need a filter for that (even though this one states it does remove flouride). If you haven't, do you mind testing it or one like it?
So far, we've tested the Berkey gravity based water filter, see the results here: th-cam.com/video/AVZmZwTxnMc/w-d-xo.html
We are actually currently in the process of testing 3 other systems, as well as re-testing the Berkey to see if we get similar results with the PF2 fluoride filters issue we found in our first test.

Did you do any testing of the popular reverse osmosis water filter systems that Amazon sells? Express Water RO5DX Reverse Osmosis Filtration NSF Certified 5 Stage RO System with Faucet and Tank - Under Sink Water Plus 4 Filters - 50 GPD, 14 x 17 x 5, White
Well, I'm fairly sure all the RO systems we've tested so far are sold on Amazon. That said, we've not yet lab tested the Express Water RO5DX system you mentioned, but I'll add it to the list for consideration in a future project
What is your favorite water filter out of all?
It depends. There is no 'one size fits all' solution. It all depends on what contaminants are in the source water being filtered!
Could you please test the Multipure water filtration systems. They have been around for a very long time and are NSF certified . They sell high quality products, but I haven't found a single video testing the filters. Thanks!
Thanks for the request! Any specific product in particular you'd like to see tested?
Honestly any of them, but personally I would like to see you test the Aquaperform, as it is the water filter I'm interested in buying.
@@jone0425 Thanks! I'll put it on the list
did you check methylene chloride and xylenes levels on the N1, by chance? Thanks for your videos!
Yes the test we used checked for methylene chloride (Dichloromethane) and xylenes (m,p Xylene and o Xylene)). None of these were detected in the filtered water.
Many thanks for your reply!

This one popped up for me on Amazon but there aren't many reviews yet.
What’s the best countertop reverse osmosis system you’ve tested? Will be buying for Black Friday.
All those we've tested have performed really well in terms of contaminant reduction.
Are you looking for a basic system that provides thorough filtration, or would you prefer a more advanced system with more bells and whistles?
@@waterfilterguruadvanced please!!!
Why are you only using 1 lab? What are the lab relationships with recommended filters? Why haven’t you use other labs to verify findings on all filters, for example, Berkey’s? Who is the President/CEO of Simplelabs? Who sits on their board of directors? What are their relationships to government, businesses, people et al?
Simplelab is actually more of a technology and logistics company. They employ a national network of EPA certified labs to carry out the actual testing mytapscore.com/pages/science
Simplelab is not associated with any of the brands that we test.
In fact, one of the primary objectives of the company is to remain neutral and independant. I'd recommend checking out their Mission statement, and reading up a bit more on the company mytapscore.com/pages/mission
Testing with multiple labs to verify accuracy and findings would get extremally expensive. As is stated in all our testing videos, the goal is to put the systems through a simple real-life test, not to comprehensively performance test to NSF/ANSI standards. This is simply not the goal of these projects. We just want to see how well the systems perform for our specific situation, and it's important to keep in mind that performance my be different in another situation.
I have a filter in my Samsung refrigerator, been drinking it for the past 3 years; and it alerts me whenever the filter needs to be changed. (Usually around 5/6 months) Are the refrigerators filters known to be effective in filtering water ? I’ve been looking for one of these counter top machines just in case I have to
It depends what filter you are using. Is it a Samsung OEM, or some other third party filter?
@@waterfilterguru it’s not an ODM it’s a filter that I get on Amazon, it’s called “water specialist”, it’s 3 filter for 25 bucks.
How long do the filters last? I've been using Waterdrop (under the sink) filters for the last year. Both the 10ua and the rf15. While both seemed to work well (at first). They do not last nearly as long as listed. The 10ua says 8000 gallons or 6 months, but I never had one last more than 6 weeks before water started tasting bad.
The rf15 says it is good for 16000 gallons or 2 years. Our water tasted bad after just over 2 months.
Since this RO system is by Waterdrop, and ive had bad experiences with longevity. I'd really like to know how long the filters will last, due to the higher cost. Please advise. thanks
Keep in mind filter capacity (lifespan) is dependent on the incoming water quality, and will vary from situation to situation. The fact that your filters are hitting capacity so quickly indicates the water is probably highly contaminated. Have you had the water tested by a certified lab? Do you know what contaminants and concentrations are present?
@@waterfilterguru i probably should do a 3rd party test, but i dont have a few hundred to waste right now. my water company has a quality report on its website (not that I really know how to read it). But i know the chlorine is definitely high because you can smell and taste it in the water.
I have a Brita long lasting pitcher. And that seems to last a long time where the water still tastes good. But when i used zero water filters, Id have to replace very 2-3 weeks.
@@chrisi621 Yeah lab testing a sample taken from the point where the water will be used is the only way to figure out exactly what's in the water. The water company's reports are a good starting point, but the problem here is that the samples for that testing are taken at the treatment plant...before the water enters the distribution center and travels to the home, where it can become re-contamianted (lead being the most infamous example of this)
Test the nu aqua 7stage system
Got it on the list for next time we test out RO systems. Thanks for your suggestion and request
Thanks. Is estrogen/oestrogen also removed?
While these contaminants weren't detected in our water during testing, we can make an educated guess that they would be removed by the system.
Activated carbon is one of the best treatment methods to reduce these types of PPCPs, and the N1 has a carbon pre-filter.
have you tried the APEC ROCT-Plus countertop RO?
Not yet

hey man, i’m looking at your channel, so do you have a particular RO water filter to suggest me? budget is about 700€, i just want good water to keep my testosterone levels good and for a better health…
Hey thanks for the comment and reaching out! Are you looking for an under-sink RO system with a dedicated faucet (requires invasive installation), or a countertop RO unit like the one in this video (better for use in a rental property)?
@@waterfilterguru hey man thanks for replying you're the best, in my opinion the countertop RO is better for me
Do you have a video that explains how a countertop reverse osmosis filtration works when there’s only one water tank like in the water drop. I assume that the wastewater goes back into the tank.
I don't have a video, but I can explain. The water gets cycled through multiple times, so the remaining water in the tank becomes more and more concentrated with contaminants. This is why it's so important to empty the tank before refilling it, rather than simply adding more water to the remainder when it's time to refill
It appears that the Waterdrop G3 P800 ($1000), (70 out of 99):
th-cam.com/video/Ebm3ZLuEew4/w-d-xo.html
water filtration results are less superior in comparison to Waterdrop N1 ($350) countertop (96 out of 99):
th-cam.com/video/lmWHcAKQ7kk/w-d-xo.html
Can we say that the countertop version is far better than the undersink version?
Is there an undersink version that cover 90+ score based on the tests applied?
No, the overall 'Tap Score' number is not a good indicator of performance.
This number is calculated by an algorithm based on the testing data. These two tests were conducted with completely different source water, taken from different locations, and therefore cannot be equally compared.
Additionally, this was just one test each. If we were to test again, more than likely we would get slightly different results which could cause the calculated tap score number to change. It's important to look at performance based on individual contaminant reduction, and not the overall calculated tap score number.
Which filter system is the best?
It depends. There is no 'one size fits all' solution. It all depends on what contaminants are in the source water being filtered. What type of water are you trying to filter? Have you had it tested? Do you know what contaminants you are dealing with?

If it removed all the good minerals, don't we need those to be reintroduced?
It depends. Some folks would prefer not to drink demineralized water, in which case remineralization would be important.
@@waterfilterguru are there complimentary systems to regain those minerals?
