    I fed my Yorkie only steak everyday for like a year, which was very expensive, before that it was always ground beef, every night I would have to cook her the meat and she began to not even want to eat which made me very frustrated. It was because she ate it so often that she didn’t want to eat it anymore (I don’t blame her cause I’d get tired of eating the same thing that much) I thought that because I like steak so much I was treating her well, but she had black skin on her belly (yeast I think) and her coat wasn’t as shiny as it once was. I started feeding her your homemade dog food recipes and she is completely different. Skin problems, itchiness, irregular clay-like or soft poop problems were all gone within a week. She’s spunkier and is super healthy now. I make a big pot of the food and she eats for about 2 weeks off the pot. So easy and so much more healthy. She also goes crazy for the food now. Thank you so much for helping me keep my baby healthy and happy 😢😊
    I posted this on another one of your videos but I wanted as many people to see it as possible and this is your most watched recipe of the many you have ❤

      @@SkidMarkSmeller i did but this guy makes a lot of mistakes for someone that worked on the vet industry rice can be fed everyday, egg shells can only be fed if they are natural from a farm cuz supermarket ones are bleached and coated with chemicals, he uses human store bough broth that as things animals cant take and the portions arent balance lacks a lot of nutrients necessary,his dog nails are insanely big when we know that hurts the animal is a bit weird to me I feed my animals natural food but you need to know what ur doing and not transmit to other people things u have no knowledge about cuz people start copying

      @@saramoreira8855 I was talking about my original comment. I stated steak wasn’t good to feed my dog everyday and said how I’ve changed her diet now but all you mentioned is something I clearly stated I found out was wrong at a later date due to ignorance from me. Second “this guy” helped not only me but lots of dog lover’s babies as a result of his recipes. My dog is so much healthier. I understand your concerns but to undermine someone who’s actually helping people isn’t the way to go about it.

    I took it a step further and made the bone broth myself, i add a few spoons of olive oil and before serving a wee drop of natural yoghurt. I cant describe the difference in my dog, she has energy, she sleeps better and her coat shines so well it nearly reflects light. She is even looking stronger. In sweden meat is expensive so i use a lot of ofal, kidney, hearts etc which is low fat pure protein.. Over the course of a month it only costs me time but its an hour ever sunday and i take pride in giving my dog the best i can give her.

      Organ meats are good for dogs they definitely need them, esp with barf feeding raw diets, or if you cook the meat first. But you've got to be sparing with liver, it has a very high iron content.

      Right, my dog is sooo healthy. He always a a bowl of grain free dry dog food on the floor but it normally gets tossed out after 4 or 5 days because he doesn't eat it. He eats once a day and he eats good human grade food with very little carbs in it.

    • @ericoneill4495
      @ericoneill4495 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Lgbt Boglin such a demeaning approach... "if you really care". Vets say natural yoghurt is fine a good source of calcium and digestive aid. Side note my dog has never been ill from her food and I have been keeping her on this home made diet with supplements for a good while now. She got a clean bill of health only last week. I suggest anyone reading your prententious comments should ignore you fully as the empty vessell of valuable information you are and speak to a vet instead.

      At the end of the day, don't stress over it. You're dog may gain one year while you spend 3 x as much for food. My dog is 14 years and spent her whole life eating your typical dog food at Walmart. She may not look the best. But she's alive and still has her burst of energy (zoomies)

      Paradoxical Nightmare totally. I buy Fromm food for her, and Fromm food is almost twice as expensive as other dog food. She is itching like crazy, and other day I just found out that her anal gland was inflamed, and i took her to different vets, they normally give her antibiotics, and it works ok while she is on it but comes back when she is off medication. one diagnosed she might have allergy. I know it will be expensive, and i have other god who is healthy. I cannot afford to feed both of them natural diet, since both of them are huge dogs.

He’s made a huge improvement since I’ve had him (still heartworm positive unfortunately.. doing the slow kill method) but now that he’s at a healthy weight I notice that he gets chronic hot spots and is pretty lethargic, and I know it’s the kibble. I really appreciate the videos on dog food. Years ago I used to make my own and can't remember everything that I used, but I believe it had brown rice, carrots, lentils, eggs w/shell and some kind of meat. Dogs loved it and we saw a huge difference in one of my dogs that was black, but half of him was brown and his hair was higher and uglier than the front half. When I fed him homemade food, his hair was all the same color...Black! Amazing! I have an 11-year-old dog now and she has broken 2 different legs at 2 different times and she has trouble getting around. Thanks for getting me excited to cook for my dog again.

    • @silvarainbowsparkle

      Con Fidential the dogs I live with get a little bit of all the fruits and vegetables I eat. There’s three of the lil bitches and they’re picky so none of them eat the same but they all like cherries, blueberries, shoved carrots, and broccoli
      My mom’s dogs love quail eggs, chicken eggs, sugar snap peas, tomatoes (small quantities), and the smoothies I make. And my dog eats anything I eat (as long as I chew it for her first. She didn’t luck out on the teeth gene pool) my suggestion: eat lots of vegetables and fruits (just pig out on them) and share anything with your dog as long as you looked up whether or not it’s safe for them. And watch for changes in behavior and stool to make sure they’re not allergic. My dog can’t have chicken (upset stomach and diarrhea, skin irritation and hair loss) and two of the dogs I live with can’t have most grains (skin irritation)
      Getting your dog what it deserves will cost you virtually nothing of you just let me have a few bites from everything healthy you’re eating. Which should be every meal. This is a long message.. but I hope it inspires you to treat your canine, feline, fish or whatever else as well as they ought to be. Everyone deserves to have a nutritiously balanced diet

      So glad to hear! Kibble is crap! Feed real food! Just make sure to have a well balanced diet. Always change some ingredients to ensure your dog is getting all the nutrition she needs. Don't be too worried about it (I mean, lots of humans survive on just fast food). You don't need 10% this and 40% that. Just feed quality items and keep the variety coming. Well, I agree, don't give them fast food, don't give them fried food, etc.. But, meats are what dogs eat! I mix in a few other ingredients for nutrition and to thicken the mixture. My dog gets such a variety of food, is healthy as ever, never had any issues.

    My dog was refusing to eat her kibble, so I tried canned food. She wouldn't go near it. It would sit there all night, and I'd end up throwing it out. A month ago I started making it myself. What a difference! I use whatever meat is on sale. So this week she got chicken breasts, chicken gizzards and hearts, mixed vegetables, potatoes, beans, rice, eggs, and hotdogs. She chows down. Her coat is softer. I spend about an hour between prep and cooking, making enough for a week.

      YES Peaches!!! Rawhide is very hard for dogs to digest..especially if they swallow bigger pieces .Ive had German Shepherds for 45 yrs..have been rescuing for 20. They have 600 lbs of pressure between their jaws and they cant chew rawhide , so a small Cockapoo could definately swallow pieces whole. and get a blockage. I DONT feed them anything Rawhide , even pigs ears scare me!!! Have had far too many intestinal surgeries !! Only bones I feed are beef marrow bones .or BIG beef soup bones,and I take them away when they get smaller..They need real bones for cleaning their teeth!!!

    Hi! So I'm actually thinking of changing my dog's diet from pedigree gravy to a homemade dog food because after doing a lot of research, I found out that pedigree is not really good for dog's nutrition. I've been watching a lot of videos here on yt about homemade dog foods and yours is the only video that has no negative comments. So thank you for this! I'm definitely gonna try this for my chihuahuaxpinscher.
    But I have something to ask. For the remaining food, how will I serve it the next day? Should I regrigerate it then boil it again? Thanks!

      We warm our dog's food in a small skillet. He won't eat fridge cold food or food warmed in the microwave. I have Chihuahua with very small teeth, so I blitz all his veggies, beans, and brown rice together, but the meat--mostly organic chicken and ground beef--are browned, then added to the pureed veggies. I cook his food weekly and then I freeze them in quart size plastic container. I write the date of when they were cooked on painters tape and a affix it to the tub. That way, he gets a variety of food and in case I'm too tired to cook, I have some in the freezer. I typically have one to two week's worth of frozen food for him. He was nearly 16 pounds when we took him to the vet. He looked like a football. We took him in to see the vet for GI problems. I thought he had cancer. Turns out he was just too fat! Vet said to purchase special diet food. Even gave him medicine to increase his appetite. Poor thing, he was so hungry, he was begging the couch for food, but he refused to get near that canned food. It did stink! Now that I'm cooking for him; he gets 1/2 cup of food a day, he's lost nearly 5 pounds in 2 months. Food change, extra walking, and only part of a persimmon fruit and doggie toothbrush for snack. He loves the food, he moves much faster, he has a lot more energy, and he now loves going for walks. Yay! Sorry for long post.

    feeding dogs this kinda food is way better than kibble. If you make different things its even better. I try to mix it up a bit and find inspiration on TH-cam. I'm gonna make this next time. If you are unsure (as I am sometimes lol) if your dog gets enough vitamins and minerals from the food you make you can buy vitamins and minerals in pet stores and sprinkle on the food. But anyways, its better than kibble without added minerals too ... When I gave my dog kibble his fur around his mouth would turn red and under his eyes as well! He also pooped A LOT.. which isn't good.. also a lot of farting.... It makes me sad and angry that vets recommend Royal Canin, Hills etc.

    • @earthling1984
      @earthling1984  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For sure give it a try! I always make my foods different. My dog gets a wide variety of foods. Always changing. He never has any stomach issues. He gets raw foods one day, cooked meals like this another day, sometimes store bought kibble, marrow bones, treats (homemade or store bought), table scraps, and more. The whole 'changing their diet will cause issues' is just a thing that is mostly a myth. Yes, if you only feed your dog the exact same food, for years and years, then, feeding something else could cause digestive issues for a couple days. But, feeding the same thing for years and years I don't think is healthy either. I find marrow and bones are great to keep stools hard. My dog has probably had runny poop one or two days his whole life, and, he is over 8 years old. He loves raw fish too! Bluegills are super easy to catch, so I often bring one home. He eats the whole thing raw.

    I save all my eggshells whether they’re from boiled eggs or just from using eggs in a recipe or whatever. I rent some out really well. I break them slightly. I put them on a tray and I put them in the oven on low for about half hour, and then I leave them on the tray overnight. The next day I come back and, I put them in a little food grinder and make it to a powder. And then before I feed my dogs I just go ahead and sprinkle that in or sprinkle it in while I’m making their dog food cooker definitely eggshells rinse them out really well. Good source of calcium .
