Reaver's Manor was probably the last place I'd expect for such awesome and calming music to be, but I am so happy that it's there. I literally just sat in the "ballroom" for a half hour so I could listen to the music.
a good while ago i posted here that i slow danced to this piece with my boyfriend; it pains me but we broke up. he fell out of love and we simply werent compatible. listening to reaver mansion is like reliving our whole (teenage) love story, yet it fills me with a very painful nostalgia - the nostalgia of knowing that this love story will never happen again.
I listen to this nonstop to relax and unwind. I love the slow and long piano and the gentle strumming of the guitar. It sounds very regal and posh. Perfect for someone like Reaver!
Oh, but I did. Indeed, quite sad, and one of the few interesting, well-developed characters in Fable II. At first he appears a generic powerful, selfish man, but on further examination, he is quite weak. He reminds me quite a bit of Gatsby from The Great Gatsby. He peruses power, money, debauchery and immortality, all these ideals, but these things will never truly satisfy him meaningfully. In his futile struggle, he stifles his own personality becoming another man, better in his blinded eyes.
Reaver is a weakling. The true heros of the fable series show this, with their stark contrast in moral character and physique. With the good heros even sacrificing their own beauty and youth to save a random stranger, all while doing this on reavers account. I'd kill the smug bastard myself if i could.
Did you guys know the first minute of this song is actually a cover of "Scarborough fair" The lyrics even fit, "would you go down to Scarborough fair. Parsley, sage, rosemary and time"
Ah, The Hero of Bower Lake. He Was Awesome. In My Opinion Though The Hero of Brightwall Is Better But I Will Admit The Hero of Bower Lake Has Been Through A Lot of Things Quite The Adventure If I Do Say So Myself.
Actually, no he doesn't. He only cares for Reaver. He only does things that benefit him. As Reaver's voice actor said "He's not immoral, he's not even amoral, he doesn't even have a concept of morality."
I finished Fable 3 again today, read Reavers note and then just stood in his mansion for about half an hour listening to this theme. ._. I personally think he's not as evil as people think he is - at times in the other games he shows regret for causing the death of his most beloved, and even if you choose to disagree with him as a King/Queen he supports your decisions without complaining. This dark music - with little bits of light in places - reflects him too well. ;_;
Charlockle He's actually the highest level of sociopath, which means he's not capable of feeling compassion or empathy whatsoever, so he's pretty evil.
Reaver was the best character in both 2 and 3 of the fable worlds. I wish during the masquerade scene where he asks you to join him in bed you could say yes. i just think it would be hilarious to see his and her (IDK her name now) reactions
I really love this music, one of the best of the series with the one playing on Aurora sands, and the ones playing in the temple of avo and the temple of skorm in the first game.
@Fmafreak I love it... it gives it a little bit of charm. It sounds like a lot of very old classical music. Absolutely beautiful. Russell Shaw is a master of music.
I wish that in Fable 3 we would have been given the option to judge Reaver after becoming monarch. He is guilty as much as Logan if not more. It just seems so strange to have him proposing ideas when he is in fact a criminal. The ruler should have the option to put him on trial no matter how rich he is. He could attempt to persuade you and bribe you and accepting the bribe could have been the evil option and the good would be imprisonment or execution.
Aria Goldberg Variations by Bach is in there. The same music that's playing in Silence of the Lambs when Hannibal murders his guards. I had to slow my stroll back to the main chamber to enjoy that one when it played =)
You good sir! You took the words right out of my more simple mouth! I completely agree with you, do you think he would ever undo it if he could then maybe rose would have be the hero of skill and Reaver would have died along time age in the games or maybe she was another of the fourth hero's like her brother/sister. Anyhow Reaver is more complex then he seems. the song 1/3 of the way seems to be sad/dreadful feeling in the begining then is absent of feeling.
@jewlzshardzzz While others seem to hate the plot, I agree, I happened to love it. Though the "darkness" coming into the country adds two key points to the storyline that I consider far too important to disregard. One, the fact that the "darkness" has some sort of symbolism for an invading outside force and, most importantly, two, that the entire storyline your character is misled into believing Logan's actions were irrationally selfish, only to find out he was working for greater good.

@ArchlordZer0 I have to place Fable 2 in front of Fable 3, despite its story. I feel as though Microsoft, surprise surprise, rushed the release of the game before more content and gameplay elements could be added. Imagine if they had more time to work the emotion system. 2:15 An arrangement of snippets from the intro theme to Fable II.

There are 3 harpsichord extracts. I don't know about them in total, but the second (6:39" to 8:40" ) is definitely from Bach's Goldberg Variations.
All of which are from the tune Greensleeves.
