Massoud can't get support from America. America is done with Afghanistan, in terms of military support. It is justified that America does not want to intervene in supporting a civil war (even though it has done so in the past). If support was granted - weapons, ammo, food and supplies would be taken by the Taliban when Massoud's forces retreat. That Valley was a key stronghold and predicted to be impassable by Taliban but looks like they retreated. I won't be suprised if Massoud and his forces go on a counter offensive and circle the Taliban from above the valley.

Massoud can't get support from America. America is done with Afghanistan, in terms of military support. It is justified that America does not want to intervene in supporting a civil war (even though it has done so in the past). If support was granted - weapons, ammo, food and supplies would be taken by the Taliban when Massoud's forces retreat. That Valley was a key stronghold and predicted to be impassable by Taliban but looks like they retreated. I won't be suprised if Massoud and his forces go on a counter offensive and circle the Taliban from above the valley.
