My experiences getting sick in Manila are way better than my experiences in Canada. Instant admission in the ER at a private hospital in Manila versus 6-8 hour waits in hospitals in Vancouver and Toronto. My son had a seizure in Toronto and we waited 7 hours to get admitted. At Medical City in Ortigas he was in a hospital bed 15 minutes after we left our condo.
Yun nga lang po maghihintay ka talaga dito unlike sa Private hospital sa Manila where you will instantly be admitted. Magastos nga lang.
@@Ternz_TV Cost is relative. I also prefer to pay than endure very long waits at a Public Hospital, especially if my son is ill. One thing people also don't mention. I waited 4 hours in ER in Vancouver. I got in but waited an additional 4 hours for a doctor to see me. Apparently there were only two or three doctors in the ER serving who knows how many patients that night. Once the doctor saw me she recommended an Xray and I had to wait several hours for her to see me again.
I guess you are right, cost is relative, if you can afford it, why not. Sadly most pinoys cannot afford private hospitals in the Philippines.
In canada everything is free but as you have said, the waiting time is ridiculous, but based on our experiences sa er/clinic dahil madalas kami, depending on the age and the severity of the illness they can sometimes prioritize you over the others.
@@Ternz_TV I once paid $1,500 at VGH in Vancouver for ER visit which included an Xray. I didn't have travel insurance. That ER visit in 2010 cost more than the money you spent on your two kids for four total days at a hospital plus various blood tests.
@@robocop581 Basta may pera and credit card, good to go, in other countries USA and Canada, Good luck
minsan akong bumisita sa Vancouver BC Canada, nagkaroon ako ng emergency dahil sa allergy. nag-stay ako sa ER for 6hrs (5.5hrs waiting and only to be seen by the doctor for like 15min). you know
how much I was billed? $3000CAD.
now, compare sa experience mo, saan mas mahirap magkasakit?
the FACT is: mahirap magkasakit kahit nasaan ka pa kapag wala kang insurance.
@@Ternz_TV so the real issue is the very low income in the Phil, dba?
@emelar185 mahal sa Western countries magkasakit Pati it's not free at all. Marketing lang yang FREE health insurance, but in reality, lahat yan binabayaran through taxes.
Dito nga sa US, we are paying monthly for our health insurance, then when you use it may deductible ka pa na babayaran na pagka mahal mahal ikaw muna ang magbabayad ng deductible mo tsaka mag kick in ang health insurance mo kung ano ang excess ng deductible mo.
@@emelar185 yes po and also the lack of government fundings i guess.
There's no such thing as FREE lahat yan may bayad either from your taxes or your monthly payment sa insurance company.
God bless you and the fam.
Godbless din po sa inyo 😊
Anong insurance company ang kinuha nyo?
Thank you!
@@Ternz_TV Thank you so much, ingat
Engineer, that is why many of us prefer Canada.
we truly are lucky to be here 😊
Meh, I'd rather invest those tax dollars you pay for Healthcare and get those earnings to finance my private insurance just like in the US. Having only Public system in Canada also makes it very inefficient. I live in HK and we have Universal Healthcare and free medicine plus access to Private Hospitals.
@@robocop581 Every healthcare system has its own pros and cons. There's no perfect system.
@@jetaimefidelisYou obviously missed my point. Having Private Healthcare frees up the Public system. What you said is pointless and just masks the weakness of the Canadian Healthcare system. I'm not knocking the Quality of Canadian Healthcare but rather the shortage of it.
@@robocop581 I got it. Getting to that route would reduce waiting time, increase health quality, and improve resource allocation. But here is my point, there is no strong system that is better than the other. Every healthcare system has its strengths and weaknesses. Strong government regulations and oversight would be essential to maintaining a fair system.
Dapat dinala mo sa St. Luke’s BGC, Baka dehydrated??, complete ba ng vaccines?? Bago lumabas ng Canada, get all necessary vaccines. Very important!!!
@@Ternz_TV Mahirap sa province dahil hindi pa modern the equipment, unless sa Manila modern, that’s why, it’s expensive in Manila, plus Yong Doctors Hindi basta basta, it’s business, but I think as long you have money, anywhere in the world, you need money!!!
Dapat may travel insurance anywhere you go, Mura lang naman depends on your age, gamitin yong credit card, but reimbursement is very hard. Keep all the receipts
Tama po kayo :)
@@Ternz_TV That’s why rich is better than being poor!!!
The best to visit in the Philippines is during the month of January, February and March, the best I think, you are avoiding Dengue mosquitoes bite, always have mosquitoes spray, during rainy season, COVID-19 still here, Dengue likes children and older people which is low in immunity in the body. Always wear a mask inside airline, alcohol and wash the hands always. Don’t touch the face, updates your vaccines, malaria it comes in tablets, Thypoid fever shot good for two years. Always see a Travel clinic and doctor for your kids, Travelling is very expensive.Asia has different bugs, due to air pollution, poor infrastructure. For your information Tuberculosis is exploding in the Philippines, it’s free the test and treatment in the Philippines, but most of the Filipino is not doing this. This is contagious and it will kill the person.
Tuberculosis will kill the person, sometimes there is no sign and symptoms.
@@Ternz_TV Before travelling update and gets booster shot for Covid19
Mura na iyong 36K PHP out of pocket for 2 kids na nagkasakit. You get what you pay for. In US, most of us prefer private health insurance over high taxes, most of us do not like the government managing our money and our healthcare. I'd rather manage my own money and healthcare than giving a lot of it to the govt. We also have county govt-run clinics and hospitals in the US but most choose private so we have options. Sulit ba iyong travel insurance?
So nakatipid kami essentially ng $600 because of travel insurance.
@@Ternz_TV ah, sulit nga at least nakatipid ng 600 cad. TY.
@@Londolozi2020 ano pong credir card yan?
@@Londolozi2020 ako, 50K USD car rental insurance at 1M USD worldwide common carrier travel accident insurance lang at with wells fargo visa. Anong credit card iyong may medical insurance?
Totoo yan…
Binabayaran natin ng advance through excessive tax.
And alam ko sir na it wasn’t your intention na i-down ung bansa natin. At least you feel for many filipinos na hirap. Even in the UK ganyan din. Thank you for sharing your experience and for reminding us how important it is to get an insurance when traveling outside your home country. Ingat lagi, sir Terence. 😊
Salamat sa comment Jeff.. tama yung observation mo, hindi ko naman dina-down or nilalait ang Pilipinas, for those day nga na nasa loob kami ng hospital meron ding mga naka confine and ang naglalaro sa isip ko "saan kaya nila kukuhanin ang pambayad nila?", maaawa ka na lang talaga pero wala ka namang magagawa, only the Phil government and it's politicians can help the filipinos.
Definitely agree with travel insurance, but don’t be so critical, your kids might have been septic, “INITIAL TREATMENT REQUIRES IVF/ANTIBIOTICS”

The PH is only for the privileged talaga kabayan.

Definitely, Sabi nga ng nakakarami: "Dahil magastos mag-kasakit, bawal mag-kasakit" Many people are getting sick, Many people are confined, and many people are struggling in their pockets. Always protect your trip with "Travel insurance" is absolutely necessary for our well-being to reduce the huge financial risks of travel such as accidents, illness, missed flights, canceled tours, lost luggage, theft, terrorism.
