I think you should clarify what you mean by "ideal". If you mean the animals would live happier or healthier lives in the wild, I would disagree. Animals in the wild have a much shorter lifespan than those in zoos. Animals in zoos are very well cared for and generally live very long lives, devoid of starvation or predation.

All I can think of is that part in Black Panther where it stops just short on the charge and kisses her. While she glares at the guy for trying to unleash her little rhino love on her.
I believe this species is highly social, however wild numbers are so low, many individuals are solitary nowadays. That baby is so adorable. It's practicing being a rhino by ramming into stuff and tromping around! Its social skills may be affected if not in a heard or visits from other of its species. Some rhinos have trouble breeding and social awkwardness is a real thing (especially for birds, which often have elaborate songs/dancing that needs to be taught). So many zoos are responsible for conservation efforts, and these animals are so precious. Kudos to zoo staff for taking care of these magnificent animals!

I would definitely pay for those things! It would give me pleasure to know that poachers were being hunted. They don't deserve to live.

I believe this species is highly social, however wild numbers are so low, many individuals are solitary nowadays. That baby is so adorable. It's practicing being a rhino by ramming into stuff and tromping around! Its social skills may be affected if not in a heard or visits from other of its species. Some rhinos have trouble breeding and social awkwardness is a real thing (especially for birds, which often have elaborate songs/dancing that needs to be taught).
So many zoos are responsible for conservation efforts, and these animals are so precious. Kudos to zoo staff for taking care of these magnificent animals!

I'm guessing mom was probably born in captivity as well, so she's always known humans, so they're just part of the family.
They both trust their caretakers. I volunteer at the zoo they live at and they've done really well.
Why does your mother trust you with friends she grew up with? Its a pretty simple answer she has been near these humans long enough to understand that they aren't a threat
