I had him on my "things-to-do-before-i-die list". Would be nice to meet him, but too late now.
He was an old man, rest in peace Arne Næss.
    Hvil i fred!

Arne Naess, the late great founder of Deep Ecology, was one of the great philosophers of the 20th century.
May his spirit live on in remote places of the world and in the hearts & minds of environmentalists everywhere.

The cabin is in Hallingskarvet (National Park now), and Hallingskarvet IS the mountain he talks about: 3:30
The mountain is visible from far, and it has a magic influence on me as well. He names it an entity, and it is right. The mountain has his own language, and I can sense it, with my inner ears.

He was the antithesis of Rand and Limbaugh's anthropocentrism. We need more like him vs typical apathetic takers & destroyers.

Thanks for posting, soekawala. I want to go to school and study deep ecology. Would you recommend me to study agroecology if deep ecology is not offer in any US school? Or what other very similar careers, degrees or courses to deep ecology would you recommend to study?

The first song at 0:00 is "Hodalsbrura" by Bukkene Bruse. The second song at 2:12 and again at 3:41 is "Den vare fela" by Per Sæmund Bjørkum. You can find both at Spotify.
