I am nostalgic about the song, way back 1979 in my form VI graduation ceremony at Shinyanga High School, Mwadui Williamson Diamonds Ltd Tanzania... very splendid indeed!
We used to listen to this music on Radio Uganda external broadcasting services,Masasu ,Kanindo,Shida,Embakasi,Tika na lela,Maze were great hits of the time.
I remember this song in 1980 when i was only 10 and in Std 5 i could sing the whole song. So Nostalgic it reminds me of my late Dad Benjamin Opondo RIP. This was when we lived in GK Kibos Prison where he worked.
This group special liwanza was playing in Uganda with Jimmy moni mambo before they broke up and later Mambo formed Shika shika. Thanks oldies uganda, for this post.
I recall this song with nostalgia during the Ugandan War in the late 70s when it would be played every night on Radio Uganda station, almost ceaselessly!!!Oh Boy!!
We also had the same machine in Northern Uganda and rural life was sweet then. Those were them days where everyone could afford to buy Lifebouy, Rexona, Astral, Sunlight in my village in Gulu....Uganda
It reminds me of Tanzanian Wakombozi in Uganda.
And the Tanzanian soldiers could snatch and beautiful lady from you to go and dance this music. 😂😂😂

Those were the best numbers of the late 70s during Idi Amin Dada.We could listen to them on radio Kigali Rwanda, played by Sinan Kabendera!
Unfortunately Kabendera Sinani died in early 2000s by suicide. Life 😢
Masau was one of the musics we used to reconnect with other Zairean musics in those school days holidays - life was life.
