Underrated player for sure. If he wanted to, he could of played more NHL games. When he is in top condition he is a lethal scoring/assist machine. When his form is bad, he is still a better player than many other Norwegians on the national team. It's great to have a star player like that in the Norwegian Get-Liga. Would be great for the Norwegian interest if he could show the country (outside of Hamar) what he is made of. When Patrick returned home to Hamar from his international adventure, he gathered a bigger crowd in a training session compared to the local football team playing an actual league game. He has done great things before, but Norwegian media does a dreadful job to cover it. Instead of hearing about the great goals he did in SHL, KHL, NLA we receive toilet records from our cross country skiers and football players. Petter Northug or any other skier releasing a fart is more interesting to our journalists than mentioning one of Thoresens milestones. Apparently Patrick has trained hard this summer, so I wouldn't be surprised if he has a strong season. He does seem to be more motivated now in comparison to the Peongchang Olympics. Hopefully karma is on Patricks side and hopefully this will have a positive impact on Norwegian hockey as a whole. He really does deserve a lot more credit than he is reciving, and Hamar as a town deserves to become a powerhouse team in Europe. Their crowd/audience are the only ones in Norway who gets it (Stavanger Oilers is a honorable second place, but has decreased their numbers the last two seasons)! The fans of Storhamar is almost working as hard as the players. I hope they can maintain it, and that other teams in the country will follow the same path.
