I honestly love the idea of doing mini lets plays for these events, like a short story, and a reminder for us to do it too! Especially for the holiday it's like your own little Christmas rom-com. Of course you don't have to but I'd love to watch that.
I really wished Kayla clicked on the aurora picture frame, it's not just a picture, it's a TV! I thought that was really exciting that everyone gets one now, because the one from the Modern Luxe Kit is probably my favorite TV to use.
The reaper event was actually fun, I never had any reason to make ambrosia before. I hope this will have a similar thing, they're kinda like scenarios having you do something different than your used to with gameplay. And hopefully less buggy. I think one thing that could be changed is instead of having each section of the event time locked (which they did shorten this time around) it should all be available to finish from the start, or have it locked by sim days instead of actual days. It would probably take a bit to find the right balance of amount of tasks, how quick it takes to complete them all, and how long the event would be on for but I think that would work better.
I really enjoy these events too, i just wish they were setup to be scenarios anyone could play anytime so theres no rush but encouragement. The sims is a game made for sharing with the community, having exclusive cas or build items ruins what is such a core part of the experience.

And I feel like what they should do with the items is add them to the game a few weeks after the event finished so people that participate in the event get 'early access' to the new items, no one misses out but the events still feel worth it.

To be fair we did just get a Romanian based world - even if they fully whitewashed it, leaving no ethnic names. Which is disappointing, considering Romanian isn't hard to pronounce.
Im from Poland but i also was really happy, because i like romanian culture and its quite similar to polish, so I can use headscarves and stuff like that for my sims! ^^
As a person from Eastern Europe (I’m from Bulgaria) it’s so cool to see items inspired by our part of Europe. I feel like we were always slept on by the sims team.

I don't mind these events, but I wish we could complete them at any time. Considering how the past two were very glitchy, it's just not fair to make these limited time. More holiday themed items is cute, and I'm happy to see pack limited items included! (the frame tv) bc it means if you don't have the pack, you get the item! and if you do have the pack, you have two! Thanks to the employees at sims for making these items!
Exactly! I think unlocking new things through challenges and gameplay is a cool idea! But the game is so buggy as it is and the reaper event broke so many times for me, I didn't have the free time to finish it because of how many times I had to fix it and lost progress. And looking online, it seems like so many people had the same problem. They spent time on making such cool rewards, but they can't be appreciated by everyone because of the time restriction 😞
OMG I love the clothes with Slavic folklore theme, we don't have anything Slavic. I WISH that EA did Slavic inspired pack. I am not saying that Romania is Slavic, just the CLOTHES that EA gave us are SLAVIC INSPIRED

I like that they seem to be adjusting the events based on feedback. I'm a fan of these events in general, but I like quest-based stuff, so it's nice to have some objectives, even if they're short. I did like your idea of having the events saved as a scenario you can play whenever you want (they really need to do more with the scenario feature), but I'm curious to see what future events hold.
i was a little salty about them giving us four wreaths but i guess it helps to think of them more like the freezer boneys from the previous events. I'm super excited about the game console and scarf

They're recommending that people do the "event" in a new save (rather than your favorite save, just in case something goes wrong) and without *any* mods (because those can cause events to mess up.)
I finally understand how other people felt when they introduced their traditional items/foods/clothing in the game... the fact that my sims can now make and eat mămăligă, a food that I've been eating since childhood and that i have many fond memories of, has me giggling and kicking my feet since yesterday 😂 like, I'm genuinely so happy!! ❤ It's so silly lol 😭💀
I love learning about different foods with different meanings across cultures through the sims. Learning random (but accurate) facts through games or shows or even like in random homework questions about math was my favorite thing as a kid. It’s probably the adhd but when I get to learn about something that I’m not “supposed” to be learning about I.e. history quip of a small country woven into a math problem it just tickles a part of my brain and sometimes even leads to a google deep dive of said subject.
I really hope so! First one I was able to connect and get the rewards, but the last one, the reaper's reward, I wasn't able to get any rewards! The tasks to complete wouldn't even show up😅
There's only 1 branch of quests and 0 letters, you just need to talk to people and cook a dish. I didn't even need to disable mods, everything is working perfectly fine right now.
Im hoping so. The first one worked, the reaper’s rewards did not work for me at all. So far, this one is fine but I had to take all my mods and cc out and I’m afraid to put it back in until the event is over, which is annoying

btw if anyone wants the frame tv early (the thing simsie thought was a painting of the northern lights; ) it is currently in the eco lifestyle dumpster! i was playing rags to ritches yesterday and was surprised like 'oh thats new' XD
Unfortunately, Christmas time is very busy. A lot of people visit family for the holidays. Personally I travel from Estonia to Denmark to visit my dad's side of the family for Christmas. I am gone around a week and I'm not going to have access to a computer, much less one that can run Sims. Then you have to factor in time to buy last minute gifts and wrapping them all, not including traveling and travel essentials that also need packing. All of that and you still have to add school/work holiday events.
I was fully determined to cheat myself though the quests last time if I didn't have time to play the event naturally, and I don't think anyone should feel bad for doing the same! Real life comes first, and we shouldn't have to compromise on that to not miss out on limited rewards or some fun gameplay. There are mods like UI Cheats and MC Command Center that will help you speed though the levelling and other achievements so that you can still complete the event if you don't have a lot of time.
Every week please! It's fun to tag along. Last event didn't even work for me (thankfully this one does) and I still enjoyed your Let's-play about it :)
I think a let's play would be fun! especially if we get a sort of cross over with either your nightmare legacy or not so berry challenges :) and I like this new event because it's not bugged for me and I can actually play it lol

So, the geography is such an interesting thing. Romania is not a Slavic country, but it has/had Slavs on its territory -part of Banat region is in Romania and smaller part is in Serbia (slavic country). There are so many architecture and folclore parallels its crazy! But this blew my mind. Mucenici, the dish that came with newest update, has Serbian (slavic) title. Go Google Translate and type "Mučenici" and you'll get "Martyrs" -exactly what the recipe info says. So cool how in Serbia there is no dish like that, at all, but Romaina has it. And Serbia probably has some food name that Romania has long forgotten :) Yay Balkans!!

I really like events. They aren’t glitchy for me but I don’t have that many packs/expansions, so I bet that helps. I also play RuneScape and these events remind me of what RuneScape puts on every holiday. Though RS is way more brutal than Sims 4; if you don’t log in every single day, you miss the reward.
I got super burned out from logon rewards because of MMOs. So, ultimately I don't think they should stay logon rewards. I'd be ok with it if they had the event and then a year later turned it into an in-game repeatable quest for every sim to do so it can be a part of their story. Perhaps in their character sheet it could record that they completed that quest or something.
I really liked the last event and I like this one even more! It's festive, has good stuff, they got rid of the unnecessary rewards like potions, and it's twice a week so you don't have to wait a long for the next one! It's like they fixed all the issues I had with the last event. And it comes with free stuff outside of the event too! I love it. I hope they do this all the time! And I'd love a weekly update on Noelle! Since the event is bi-weekly you could just smoosh the two into one video and it'd give you more content.
I love this and would be perfectly happy to watch Noelle do random holiday things every week! It feels like they made it a little easier than the last one which is good for more people to get the items quickly, and I like it not being cluttered with the random in game rewards more. I kinda am obsessed with these.
I’m liking these quest style login events. I only started playing The Sims 4 this year so there’s a lot of stuff I’m not familiar with. This feels like a good way to help new players learn more about the game, that might not be obvious at first.
I hope it doesn’t have glitches like the old ones Last time the quests would disappear and i could not bring them back and nothing would fix it And the previous one, all the prizes disappeared, i play on console and as far as I knew it happened to everyone on console, but they fixed it Maybe 3rd time is a charm 😅
They desperately need to make an option for the event to restart it completely and also to restart a particular step of the event. I feel like it would help people troubleshoot. Like for me, they started the delivery of the ambrosia letter to whatever family I started that play session with, and not the family I wanted to play with, so I had to go back to that other family to complete that step.
I was so surprised and excited about this update! It made me kinda emotional when I heard it was an update based on Romanian culture!!!! That is absolutely major! Coming from a Romanian, I would have never thought that we would get anything like this in the game. This is amazing! Also the new world being based on Romanian style, nature and architecture (the big head sculpture is actually real, you can search it up online as the head of Decebal). It’s all surreal! I’m so excited and grateful for this positive exposure of Romania, it has been long awaited.❤❤❤❤
I get the thing with headwear and hairs being complicated but it would be great if there were at least like 4 different hairlines available - tied to appropriate hairstyles that are “under” the headwear. Like one straight, one curly, one afro-texture, and one with no hair. It would also be awesome if they made a version with an underscarf for more hijab options. It wouldn’t be a huge amount of work to implement as they could use the same textures for each piece of headwear and just switch out the current hair texture that’s underneath (it must already be a separate layer to be recoloured separately). It’s a small change that would make headwear much more inclusive!
I really like these events when it’s stuff I’ll use in game. The Reaper one wasn’t really my thing but this one I’m really excited for. I love love the hot cocoa tray, that’ll fit in with gameplay so well like after a family snowball fight. One thing I wish they’d add is being able to watch Winterfest movies.
I'm finding it annoying that during these events i can't safely use mods or it is likely to break the event... I feel like its playing on FOMO to keep people engaged while also limiting players to official content only, idk if it's intentional but it feels manipulative to me.
Oh thank god about the Dine Out patch. My sims can sometimes request a table, but if it’s a date or event, it NEVER WORKS. So my sims keep going on these awful dates. Relatable, but still.
I cannot stand these log in events. I can't even grt the Sims 4 / EA app to work half the time. And any update takes hours since the EA app crashes if I "Update" rather than "Repair".
I like the addition of more food, but the pie menu is getting overwhelming and I wish there was a way to organize by favorites or something! Personally I think Noelle left the big city and moved back to her deceased parents' cottage so she can finally focus on her writing career and baking skills, and then she falls in love right in time for WinterFest... Could also be fun to have WinterFest be the culmination of this quest storyline!!
I didn't even want to play this event but still had to uninstall MCCC and UI cheats because it immediately broke the whole game. I went into build mode and couldn't get out. So my issue with this is that it forces you to play mod-free for however long the event lasts, whether you care about the event or not. I wish you could opt out!
I'm so glad you put out a video because I haven't played in a few weeks and i totally would have missed this. Argh. I really wish these events were available all the time to do at our own pace.
Cute items! But man I wish they would either flesh out these events with more quests, or speed it up by lowering the time in between new stages of the event.

I have played the enemys to lovers scenario with him disliking Christmas (his name is Grollo Grinch) and she is toooootally into Christmas, all her outfits are very Christmas themed and he dislikes red and green. They were tricked and bought the same house but no one of them wanted to move out. So at first they hated each other and did mean things (he is also a spellcaster, she is a vampire) but they found each other very attractive sooooo... Nowadays they love each other and have children together😁 And now they can get more Christmas things! Their house is decorated the whole year.
I like these mini events, but last one was hard for me because I'm pregnant and was struggling with morning sickness. I ended up doing all of it the night before.
Honestly, same. Less so for the game console but the frame TV was the only thing I really liked from that kit so the chance for a basegame one is great.

I LOVE the Romanian clothing and food, I had a big smile on my face the entire time as a Romanian 😭😭❤️ I even took screenshots and sent them to my whole family and I was like "LOOK MA'!! Romanian culture in The Sims and simsie pronouncing Romanian words!!" 😭❤️ Very impressed with the food descriptions!!

I couldn't get the wreath to be on the door or the window, only the wall. (I didn't have it on "bb.moveobjects" so that may make a difference.)

horse ranch has two (although one is the same item flipped backwards) but it's very themed, obviously 😅 it's so nice to have a simple plain scarf!!

I was fully determined to cheat myself though the quests last time if I didn't have time to play the event naturally, and I don't think anyone should feel bad for doing the same! Real life comes first, and we shouldn't have to compromise on that to not miss out on limited rewards or some fun gameplay. There are mods like UI Cheats and MC Command Center that will help you speed though the levelling and other achievements so that you can still complete the event if you don't have a lot of time.

Please make this a series! I get really invested in character's stories. I also really hope this event works this time. I got to week 5 of the reaper's rewards and mine broke, locking me out of the last rewards. None of the fixes on the forums worked :(((
So, the geography is such an interesting thing. Romania is not a Slavic country, but it has/had Slavs on its territory -part of Banat region is in Romania and smaller part is in Serbia (slavic country). There are so many architecture and folclore parallels its crazy!
But this blew my mind. Mucenici, the dish that came with newest update, has Serbian (slavic) title. Go Google Translate and type "Mučenici" and you'll get "Martyrs" -exactly what the recipe info says. So cool how in Serbia there is no dish like that, at all, but Romaina has it. And Serbia probably has some food name that Romania has long forgotten :) Yay Balkans!!

As a player who only has base game, I’m super excited for the frame tv
I really like events. They aren’t glitchy for me but I don’t have that many packs/expansions, so I bet that helps. I also play RuneScape and these events remind me of what RuneScape puts on every holiday. Though RS is way more brutal than Sims 4; if you don’t log in every single day, you miss the reward.
I got super burned out from logon rewards because of MMOs. So, ultimately I don't think they should stay logon rewards.
I'd be ok with it if they had the event and then a year later turned it into an in-game repeatable quest for every sim to do so it can be a part of their story.
Perhaps in their character sheet it could record that they completed that quest or something.
I really liked the last event and I like this one even more!
It's festive, has good stuff, they got rid of the unnecessary rewards like potions, and it's twice a week so you don't have to wait a long for the next one! It's like they fixed all the issues I had with the last event. And it comes with free stuff outside of the event too!
I love it. I hope they do this all the time!
And I'd love a weekly update on Noelle! Since the event is bi-weekly you could just smoosh the two into one video and it'd give you more content.
I love this and would be perfectly happy to watch Noelle do random holiday things every week! It feels like they made it a little easier than the last one which is good for more people to get the items quickly, and I like it not being cluttered with the random in game rewards more. I kinda am obsessed with these.
I’m liking these quest style login events. I only started playing The Sims 4 this year so there’s a lot of stuff I’m not familiar with. This feels like a good way to help new players learn more about the game, that might not be obvious at first.
I hope it doesn’t have glitches like the old ones
Last time the quests would disappear and i could not bring them back and nothing would fix it
And the previous one, all the prizes disappeared, i play on console and as far as I knew it happened to everyone on console, but they fixed it

They desperately need to make an option for the event to restart it completely and also to restart a particular step of the event. I feel like it would help people troubleshoot.
Like for me, they started the delivery of the ambrosia letter to whatever family I started that play session with, and not the family I wanted to play with, so I had to go back to that other family to complete that step.
I was so surprised and excited about this update! It made me kinda emotional when I heard it was an update based on Romanian culture!!!! That is absolutely major! Coming from a Romanian, I would have never thought that we would get anything like this in the game. This is amazing! Also the new world being based on Romanian style, nature and architecture (the big head sculpture is actually real, you can search it up online as the head of Decebal). It’s all surreal! I’m so excited and grateful for this positive exposure of Romania, it has been long awaited.❤❤❤❤

I get the thing with headwear and hairs being complicated but it would be great if there were at least like 4 different hairlines available - tied to appropriate hairstyles that are “under” the headwear. Like one straight, one curly, one afro-texture, and one with no hair. It would also be awesome if they made a version with an underscarf for more hijab options.
It wouldn’t be a huge amount of work to implement as they could use the same textures for each piece of headwear and just switch out the current hair texture that’s underneath (it must already be a separate layer to be recoloured separately).
It’s a small change that would make headwear much more inclusive!
I really like these events when it’s stuff I’ll use in game. The Reaper one wasn’t really my thing but this one I’m really excited for. I love love the hot cocoa tray, that’ll fit in with gameplay so well like after a family snowball fight. One thing I wish they’d add is being able to watch Winterfest movies.

I'm finding it annoying that during these events i can't safely use mods or it is likely to break the event... I feel like its playing on FOMO to keep people engaged while also limiting players to official content only, idk if it's intentional but it feels manipulative to me.
Oh thank god about the Dine Out patch. My sims can sometimes request a table, but if it’s a date or event, it NEVER WORKS. So my sims keep going on these awful dates. Relatable, but still.
The quests are actually only a couple of days apart, the last quest is available in about 2 weeks.
As a romanian, I AM SO HAPPY!! It's the bestest thing it's a free update!
I cannot stand these log in events. I can't even grt the Sims 4 / EA app to work half the time. And any update takes hours since the EA app crashes if I "Update" rather than "Repair".

I like the addition of more food, but the pie menu is getting overwhelming and I wish there was a way to organize by favorites or something! Personally I think Noelle left the big city and moved back to her deceased parents' cottage so she can finally focus on her writing career and baking skills, and then she falls in love right in time for WinterFest... Could also be fun to have WinterFest be the culmination of this quest storyline!!
I didn't even want to play this event but still had to uninstall MCCC and UI cheats because it immediately broke the whole game. I went into build mode and couldn't get out. So my issue with this is that it forces you to play mod-free for however long the event lasts, whether you care about the event or not. I wish you could opt out!
I'm so glad you put out a video because I haven't played in a few weeks and i totally would have missed this. Argh. I really wish these events were available all the time to do at our own pace.

I have played the enemys to lovers scenario with him disliking Christmas (his name is Grollo Grinch) and she is toooootally into Christmas, all her outfits are very Christmas themed and he dislikes red and green. They were tricked and bought the same house but no one of them wanted to move out. So at first they hated each other and did mean things (he is also a spellcaster, she is a vampire) but they found each other very attractive sooooo... Nowadays they love each other and have children together😁 And now they can get more Christmas things! Their house is decorated the whole year.
I like these mini events, but last one was hard for me because I'm pregnant and was struggling with morning sickness. I ended up doing all of it the night before.

Honestly, same. Less so for the game console but the frame TV was the only thing I really liked from that kit so the chance for a basegame one is great.
