- Welcome to my V12 engine Roadster Project car build series. This week we fix the terrible gaps that occurred last week. There is of course lots of grinding, fiber-glassing and general mess making as well as the introduction of a new toy! I hope you like this and share or subscribe to watch the next stages as I hopefully take this nearly classic car restoration way past the Nearly Finished stage...

What English men can build in their sheds
It’s quite amazing 👍👍🇦🇺
Thanks buddy!
Catching up .... because I apparently was under a rock.... OVER THE TOP KOOL build ! Addicted now... is an under statement!! "I personally like the bulge a, chin spoiler of sorts to help with the flow of aero dynamics. Plus aggressive in looks.
Thanks buddy - I appreciate the comment!
Have just found your build , and am thoroughly enjoying such a nice build. I would put the bulge across the front as IMHO adds a depth of style to the front finish. Keep up the good humor and the good work. Waiting for the next episode to fly in.
Thanks buddy - I think I'm on the same page as you - look out for more updates soon...
Just found this build 9 minutes ago. Humor is pretty good. The car looks beautiful. And for the lower wings I think the bulge gives the front a bit of an aerodynamic look. Without them the front lust looks like a massive bloated flutterby aka butterfly 🦋
I'm subbing to this channel for the humor and of course this build.
Thanks buddy - I think I'm on the same page as you regarding the bulge - look out for more updates soon...
Found your channel thanks to the almighty algorithm remembering that I too am planning a scratch build. Great work so far and enjoying the presentation. I'd go with the bulge as it's in your original design and quite frankly, who doesn't like a nice bulge 😁. Chin up, keep at it and remember..... No matter how many times you need to fix your "mistakes", you'll still be finished and driving before Binky 😎👍
Thanks buddy - I think I'm on the same page as you regarding the bulge - look out for more updates soon...
buldge for a slightly added strength - and even better AERO ! look`s smashing thank you keep on going . in australia we have the LS v12 - super big power !
Thanks buddy - I think I'm on the same page as you regarding the bulge - look out for more updates soon...
A bit of shape to the bottom would be cool. Not just a bulge on the lip but if it tapered up and in towards the grill so the part of the wing that actually covers the wheel protrude forward of the rest of the wing.
Thanks buddy that's an interesting Idea - I need to decide now the lower wings will join the grill, so your idea is certainly worth considering...
Round off the outside corners and scallop the adjoining section where it meets the grille bottom. Like the old Mercedes models. Great car
Thanks buddy - I'll bear your thoughts in mind when I design where the wings join the grill - look out for more updates soon...
What a great build my friend, as previously mentioned the design of the car in the picture is amazing, id do my very best to try and stay with that , personally for me it looks its a bit bulbous the way you have changed either way ill keep watching 👍
Thanks Buddy - I get what you're saying, but hopefully when the headlights go on it will balance the design a bit more...
fascinating build mate. I’m building a cyclekart and will be doing most of the body with fibreglass, so this is all very helpful 👍🏻
Thanks buddy - good luck with your build too!
Well...
You asked for comment... looking very nice, but the lower wing fronts (in my opinion) need wasting, as the front has too much visual mass.
perhaps have them shorter with the line rising from the radiator surround and curving towards the tyre,
Also how about indents/recesses for the headlights, and having the head lights in a bowl (i.e. classic stand alone units).
I love the project... it just looks visually very heavy at the front... perhaps some more finesse, in line with the rest of the build ????
Really appreciate the comments - I think it'll be interesting to see how the headlights impact the look of the wings...
Bulge for me. Looks more finished and also ads strength to the wing.
Thanks buddy - I think I'm on the same page as you regarding the bulge - look out for more updates soon...
V12 Roadster Project - Part 5. I want what that song was at the end of the video. love how your car is coming along.
Thanks for the comments Buddy! The song at the end is called Zombiestomp - I licensed it from Audio Jungle years ago, but I don't think it's on there anymore... its a great song!
Since your wings don't have the drastic curve back toward the grill as in the thumbnail, the bulge would probably increase rigidity and help keep them from deflecting as much. Might even look good making the bulge a separate piece that ties both sides together with a chin in the middle. Could make it a bolt on piece with formed tubing to add strength.
Thanks buddy - I think I'm on the same page as you regarding the bulge - look out for more updates soon...
cant wait for next one
Thanks buddy - look out for more updates soon...
Straight across, definitely
Thanks buddy - I'll bear your thoughts in mind...
Just wot i needed buddy sit down with a large scotch and watch my fav gezzer tinkering in his shed 😎😎🤘🤘🤘
Thanks buddy - let tinkering commence lol!
having seen clips of both front ends i would go with the one in the thumbnail which seems to be a bit of both.
Thanks buddy - I appreciate the comment!
Great presentation and choice of music👍🏻. Would I be right if Once upon a time comes into it? And did you hear the narrator in Crufts 2020 freestyle final….sounds just like you!
Thanks buddy - I do spend time thinking about the music so I'm glad you like it... I'll have to listen out for the Crufts guy...
Why bulge when it’s going to be covered visually by a bumper of sorts? Just my thinking. I am enjoying this build and am looking forward to each update as you get closer to the finished vehicle.
Thanks buddy - I think I'm on the same page as you regarding the bulge - look out for more updates soon...
Front wing definatelly looks nicer with a bulge, all in my own humble opinion of course.
Thanks buddy - appreciate the comment
Why not "finish" the lower edge of the wings with some sort of chrome bumper blade?
Thanks buddy - I'm still deciding on the idea of adding a bumper. I might do some mock ups to get people's thoughts...
Impressive work (ethics)! PS a Rotex Festool sander with vacuum system would speed sanding up and prevent dust. Expensive but worth it 🏆⚡️👍
ANY kind of vacuum dust extraction would make life so much better, even with the cheaper tools. Makes the abrasive work longer too.
Thanks buddy - dust is the worst part about this whole process. I'm hoping to get a better system in place soon...
It doesn’t look like it has a V12 in it, it looks like it’s got a jaguar 4.0 or something in it, and that is a six-cylinder
Definitely a 1994 6.0 XJS V12 engine...
Why didn’t you just buy a Morgan ? I grew up with them. Very similar in styling to your design .
You clearly don’t understand makers
.. agreed. That's just not how the maker brain works.
I have definitely been "inspired" by Morgan, and my Vincent MPH also looks very much like that too, but my car is much bigger than a Plus 8, has a "proper" roof lol and a V12. Morgan never had a V12 in any of their cars...
Love the videos mate. I'm in much the same situation with my Locost/Lotus7 replica built that has been going on for about 18 years. Interrupted by house moves, 3 kids and other car projects. I've always loved the 20/30's style of car and would like to build something similar one day. Keep up the good work!
Thanks buddy - fingers crossed for your build too!
