    Just a note: make sure the oil is changed before driving it again. The stuck injector is flooding the cylinder and it makes the oil thin and not able to do its job. Good luck! 🍀

    There was one thing that I did hear very clearly towards the end of this - even with all the crap that the rollback has done, and all the other things that have gone bad, the love for Riley shined through it all. Even with all the miserable things, the high heat that sucks your energy, you still prevail in making Riley's beach better for her. Kudos to you and David for making a little girl's dream for her.

    Not sure if there’s a better way but my dad had a pj 20 foot tilt deck which he used as a back up for when his rollback had issues. To keep the battery charged, he just rigged a very long jumper cable to connect the truck battery to the trailer battery, going under the bed and up into the engine bay so it could always stay on while driving. Just positive to positive. I’m sure you can wire something more professional but the benefit was that the trailer battery was always perfectly charged and I’m assuming it also had more power from being able to use the truck’s battery/alternator to provide more as needed.

    That sucks about your rollback Casey and I know I would be heated if I had to bring my truck back to the same dealership for the same issue that should've been fixed correctly the first time, it's like these people are not even checking their work before they give it back to you. You might look into a small solar panel to mount on the top of the battery box to keep it topped off. Occasional use like the trailer these can work very well. The sand playground for your daughter is well worth the time if she enjoys it. My dad made me a 'sand box' which was an extension from the side of a 1930s car. No interior or wheels but the steering wheel was still there. I can still remember playing in it literally 60 years later. You are making lifetime memories for your little girl. Always good to keep in perspective on a frustrating day.

Growing up, every car in my family has always had a set of cables in the trunk, then again maybe it was because one grandfather (mother's father) and my father were both auto mechanics.

Your tenacious spirit that drives you to succeed irrespective of the hurdles is what makes you who you are and what keeps people " myself included" coming back for more. Cummins in Downey CA helped us with several trucks with reoccurring problems, They would put them on the Dyno and plug into the computer .

    When you get frustrated, You do better that I do. In your place I would have probably lost it and smashed something. I guess this means that you are a better man than I am. But then when things get bad, they usually get better. (At some point.) (maybe)

    Next time you run into the sand issue, you can leave your gates closed and scoop out of the trailer. Then you should only have to shovel from the bucket to the wheel barrow.

    Have them clean out the Diesel Particulate Filter and the EGR. Change the Air filter. Got to push exhaust out, and Air in.
    Did they change all 6 injectors, or just 1? With todays electronic diagnostics, they say #4 bad injector and just change that injector. The other 5 are on the verge. but NO. your injector pattern and delivery has to be the same in all cylinders.
    I'm an old time Heavy Truck Master Certified Mechanic, change 1, change them all. Would you change 1 Piston, or 1 Rod Bearing.

      What diesel particulate filter??

    • @arkycadd
      @arkycadd ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CaseyLaDelle Don't know what year your truck is? it might be pre-emissions - 2005 for EGR's or CAT ACERT. 2008 for Diesel Particulate Filters, 2010 for Diesel Exhaust Fluid. This TH-cam video is the best explanation I have seen for all of the above.

      This is why a pre emissions glider kit was a good buy. But even those aren't made any more.

    Just a question. I am not sure if you have done it or not. Have you ever considered getting a scan tool for your truck? Where you can see what is going on. I have a 2020 F150. In the design of the engine. They put both PVC values to dump straight into the turbos. Burns them out. I put in oil catch cans. Yet. One had a vacuum leak. Set off an engine code. To get it erased. I would have to go to the dealership. So. I went on Amazon and bought my own. It shows everything that is going on with my truck and in real time. Yet. I can use it on most any type of vehicle.

    I used to drive a leased truck that had a knock. The Mechanic said not to worry and keep driving. He said that 3 more times in 2 months. The 4th time it was no longer knocking it was banging LOUD he said I shouldn't be driving it (DUH). Turned out 1 injector went full rich, washed that cylinder of all it's oil. A few weeks later they had hammered out 1 cylinder and another in. I wonder how much work it would have saved them if they had just listened ? Hope your luck was better.

    Casey- tell Riley the new load of sand has been dumped and to go check it out- record or not- doesn't matter- watch her face from the time she sees it, to the time she actually steps foot in it- what does she say- how big is her smile, what is she talking about and most important- why is she doing/acting the way she is ...... :) share it or not- doesn't matter- what matters is you seeing her face reaction to the sand ! It's a dad moment - soak it in :)

    one outfit i worked for and small petrrbuilt that shop couldnt figure out what the heck was wrong. was like yours , run strong and then fall on its face. they finally convinced the upper powers to be to rebuild the engine . $20,000 plus later and still had same problem. and 2 weeks later had go back for throwout bearing . they charged that price for in frame overhaul.
