    The purr of her engine when she fires up is like music. I love love love old tractors so much. I love the smell of the diesel from them too

    My father had one of these on his homestead. I broke the PTO universal joint 4 -5 times when I was 15 years old. Trying to "help" him bush-hog the property. Drove him crazy replacing it.

    I can power shift from 2nd to 3rd pretty easy on my 1715. 1st to 2nd can get a little grindy, so I just double clutch. The good part is I almost never use 1st when I'm road driving. I can pull out of most fields in second (high), even if pulling a baler.

    Another great vid, we had an old ford 2000 diesel w/ a 4 speed and with its pattern I'd usually just jam it from 2-4 and skip 1 & 3 lol

      Johnathon Sheehan thanks bud! And they sure are a great lil tractor! And I do that most of the time. If you seen I just start off in 7th normally.

      Ford Farmer Yeah they're a great transmission rock solid, just for road use it's abt painful atleast tht 4 speed was lol

    • @Fordfarmer9700
      @Fordfarmer9700  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Johnathon Sheehan yes sir they are and nahh the 8 speeds are great for road use! 20 miles an hour makes ya feel like you're moving somewhere lol.

    • @johnathonsheehan3773
      @johnathonsheehan3773 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ford Farmer haha we had a 4000 with an 8 speed for 2 days that we bought to trade and the front end was so messed up you couldn't hold it in the road so I didn't get to try out all 8 lol our 7710 wasn't bad on the road till it got stuck in the low side of the dual power then that was painful, the best tractor I ever drove for top speed on the road was NH t5050(25+mph) my grandpa had but besides top speed on the road it was a complete pos and a dog on power

    I'm a guy who grew up in the suburbs, and I know next to nothing about tractors. I'm watching these YT videos with the driving and shifting tractors, and man those are weird shift patterns, weird gear placements!

      What 2 is above reverse because 1 is too slow and when using a loader on them it's nice to go from reverse to 2 really quick since it's straight up.

    That's some fancy shiftin! I worked on one of those one time it had a load and it had the worlds fasted hydraulics. Had a huge pump up front of the grill. It was a nice drivin tractor tho

    Its too bad tractor brands won't gas motors anymore. They are very efficient now. Plus they won't need DEF or DPF etc. Oh yea cheap to make then diesel.

    Woah woah woah hold it, I cold started my ford and you give me a hard time at 27 and you start yours at 40? that's coo it's gonna get 10 degrees later this week I'll show you! LOL and son of a gun you can power shift no clutching that pretty dam slick. And it's really cool that 3000 is still in the family after all those years

    • @Fordfarmer9700
      @Fordfarmer9700  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michigan Farming haha hey its always fun to poke at other lol. And same here I guess we'll have to get a cold start of the gassers at 10 degrees! And thats a constant meshed gear box too! I've been driving the damn thing for soo long that its second nature to me its all in the feel of the shifter. If its stiff its a no go and if its soft run for it lol no dirty puns intended. Needless to say though I wont be cutting wood for awhile all signs pointed no but did it anyhow and well I got bit LOL it was my own mistake.

    • @michiganfarming1955
      @michiganfarming1955 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ford Farmer haha it's always fun giving each other shit! I do it all the time at work! LOL I can't wait to see how ol rusty starts at 10! That's pretty cool power shifting that,

    • @Fordfarmer9700
      @Fordfarmer9700  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michigan Farming hey dont we all? Its fun in its own way bad part is when people don't understand what you mean at times you know the ones I'm talking bout? Them safe space babies lol like hell I just gashed my leg wide open and I felt fine stapled that bitch shut LOL and that is the only tractor that I've been able to do it on unless I was really lucky with the 5610. Nonsyncro trans FTW and this is why I want a manual trans truck!

    • @michiganfarming1955
      @michiganfarming1955 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ford Farmer oh man i have some good stories from work last summer. Me and buddy Walt, the stupid people that worked there, the times me and Walt would goof off! But dad (my boss) doesn't care even though we goof off we get shit done! Lol god dam you fucked your leg up? Shit man! Your a tough SOB!

    • @Fordfarmer9700
      @Fordfarmer9700  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michigan Farming ohh I know and hey thats the best in its way for working for you dad job security eh? LOL and hey we all goof off its part of the man nature but like you said we still get shit done. And yea was cutting trees today after this video and the saw caught and kicked and yep you guessed it right into my leg. Gashed it up pretty good but honestly it didn't hurt I stayed till the tree was down because I wasn't gonna let it hang and god know have it fall on someone or something. Went to some doctor place the cleaned it up with alcohol (didn't feel it leg was numb from waiting an hour and a half to get in!!) I did feel them jam a long ass needle in 10x though then 30 seconds later I have staples in my leg and walked off to go home. Yea I know it was my own stupid mistake and I take responsibility for it but hey shit happens and I'd rather it been me then someone else.

      Re-paint might be down the road, we already repainted our 8n with some problems. It's a 1966 3000 that we know came from a orchard.

    yep, if the engine RPM and the ground speed on my Ford 4000 match the no clutch power shift 5th to 6th is pretty easy.

    • @Fordfarmer9700
      @Fordfarmer9700  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Soybean Farmer I like how close they are and if you got flat enough ground you can do it through all of them. But I live in the valley if a mountain in Pennsylvania so I don't have enough flat are to do it lol!

    would the rear end making a raket like screaming almost be a bearing? If so r they hard to replace?

    • @Fordfarmer9700
      @Fordfarmer9700  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      christian aycock it depends what modle is it on? A growle would most likely be a bearing a screaming noise is something getting tight. It could be a bearing or it could be in the differential/pinion. Does it do it in low range or high? All I tractors have a wine in the higher gears like 7th and 8th

    • @ChristianAycock
      @ChristianAycock 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      all the gears if it's moving it's wining it's that 6600 again. When u buy used there's gonna be repairs lol

    • @Fordfarmer9700
      @Fordfarmer9700  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      christian aycock yikes! Sounds like she has some issues. I'd check the front half of the gears first. Just pull the shift cover its about a $8 gasket to replace and see what going on in there. Then if not its in the ass end and theres alot to go wrong there.

    • @ChristianAycock
      @ChristianAycock 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that can't be good it's the same noise most farmall cub tractors make

    • @Fordfarmer9700
      @Fordfarmer9700  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      christian aycock I'll say that a slightly wine they have but if its really excessive you have an axle bearing going out. Lock up a brake at a time so it'll sharp turn and see if it goes away depending on what axle you stop. It Should give you a good idea on where its at lol.

    What is the difference between the 2000 and the 3000?

    • @Fordfarmer9700
      @Fordfarmer9700  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not much the 3000 has 10hp more then the 2000. Gas versions both use a 158cid motor but the 3000 uses a 175cid diesel where the 2000 uses a 158 diesel. Both can have the same transmission options but I believe you could get a 3000 in a select o speed and the 2000 you couldn't. Both had the option of power steering etc they're pretty identical with some slight variations on how the tractor was spec'd from factory
