I adore thistles in all their lovely shapes and colours. I love your loose style and building up the layers of the watercolour to give it depth and detail. Beautiful work Yvonne.
Very good technique thankyou for sharing. I have struggled to paint a picture for my nephew who particularly wanted thistles and some red - after five attempts I think I have cracked the poppies but the thistles all look like aliens. I think you have given me the solution!

Hi, this painting was done in a watercolor moleskin book, which was only 200g and it’s a blend. Not 100% cotton. For. Watercolor sketchbook, I find that ok but I would use 100% if doing a commission, for instance. Have fun Yvonne

Love your technique in bringing it all together from wet on wet to dry brush, using the mop and charcoal finish. Tres cool!

Hallo and welcome. I am using a Cretacolor Studioline Charcoal pencil. "hard". Great to work with and lovely dark lines
