I lived in South Plainfield until I was 8.... moved away to PA in 1980. Grew up on Wadsworth Ave, went to Grant Elementary... I remember the A&P, Drug Fair, Shop Rite, Bradlees, Menlo Park Mall, Two Guys, Peter Pan Pharmacy, the bakery over by the Quick Check & Liquor Store, spent many a summer morning at the library and the playground at Riley Elementary while my brother played Little League there....
I've lived here all my life. A very good friend of mine grew up on Wadsworth Ave. Here name was Elaine Conlon. I spent many days at her house and swimming in her pool. My brother played little league, and my father coached. I spent a lot of time there as well. The town is still the same. Great people and great families.
Lived there until 1989, when we moved to Nevada. I loved the bakery by Quick Check and the pizza place, I think it was called Rodolfos. Class of 1970. Loved Sherban's Diner, Knotty Pine and Stewarts drive in. q
My family is from South Plainfield... My dad took flying lessons when Hadley Center was an airport... When I was a kid, we used to go shopping there when it was one of the first strip malls. (I think there used to be a Bradlee's there way back in the day...) Thanks for the video!
I always love connecting with people from South Plainfield. I was born and raised here and have so many great memories that I am constantly boring my kids with. I moved out of South Plainfield when I first got married but then returned and am still living here. Yes there was a Bradlees on Oak Tree Rd. I remember the Bradlees that was there. South Plainfield was my childhood hometown in the 90s. I quite miss it. Good memories grabbing italian ices with my dad at Tony's Pizza next to the A & P.
I was born and raised here and still currently live in town. I love the town because most people here are really down to earth and always willing to help their neighbors.
Bagel Pantry are the best bagels I have ever had. SP is a great town. Now here 20 yrs. Although I want to move to the south, I would not even consider living anywhere else in Jersey. I’ll add Dynasty Kitchen on Park Ave has the best Chinese in the area. We also have changed over the yrs because now Indian and Mexican restaurants are thriving in SP. El Refin is doing very well on Park Ave by Sal’s bar. And how about the absolutely excellent Hibachi Grill over at Oak Park Commons off Oak Tree rd by the Big Lots. Best bang for your buck around. It is a great town.

I also remember Hadley Airport, my father would take us over there to watch the planes. And I remember when they built the mall.
