I don't know if anyone remembers the Outrun arcade game from the 80s, which featured a Testarossa, but driving this conversion with the soundtrack to that game blasting away would be a dream.
Customer be like: The Ferrari experience without the Ferrari experience. No more stupid low quality engineering, keeping the shell, the great looking car.
From a Testarossa owner this is so sad to see without the flat 12, the soul and character of the car. And of course you took away the beautiful manual steering. I’m surprised you didn’t also fill in the side strakes. Where did the bad decisions stop? 😁
Why are you sad? You have one and can hear the flat 12 and have manual steering to enjoy. Enjoy your car in the way you want and let others enjoy theirs in the way they want.
Get Harry M in to do a back to back comparison with his Testarossa! I’d love to hear his opinion on all this EV classic scene and you Teslarossa especially!!
This is awesome! 15 yr old me from 1987 would have passed out with excitement seeing this. I was disappointed that you didn't wear your pastel suits with t-shirts to shoot this. I'm off to listen to Yan Hammer and Phil Colins
Ah finally!!! Good video Richard! Just look at that beauty!!! It feels like Ferrari knew that sometime this Testarossa could be converted to electric. How awesome is that?
Driving a Ferrari all day and not repairing the next days sounds like a clever plan!. Making dayli drivers out of this beautiful classic cars is really great. Next is a MG A or B.
I've been looking forward to seeing that beast on the road since you started the conversion.. It doesn't disappoint. As for what would be better on those wonderful roads, well, something a little slimmer would probably be a bit more chuckable, but for its size, it looked to handle wonderfully. Great job.
@@Jens_Roadster don't look now but every single ice car made uses a battery made with lead acid and cobalt underhood and requires many electric motors just to function. Why not eliminate the stinking hot noisy inefficient combusting bits as in here. 😀
Fantastic conversion. Looks like a lot of fun to drive. We do electric conversions at my shop in the states. Just finished at 9:12 Porsche and it is a lot of fun to drive plenty of spirit and soul. I am thinking a Maserati bora would be a wonderful conversion.

if given a choice, I'd choose this over any ICE Ferrari. I don't want to be a rich guy, don't need much, until this. Any classic supercar but electrified.🥺🥺
I love the sound of a proper engine as much as the next guy, but I also know how expensive and fiddly these high powered 12 cyl engines are. I've seen them auctioned off in Bangkok for 5% of their actual new price with a busted engine that is out of production. Point being; this is by far the best conversion you guys have done so far, in my opinion. And the one that gives you the most bang for buck. It's even fast, and I bet has better road-holding. Well done guys.
Your face and gushing comments about your creation, the TeslaRossa says it all Moggie, and that’s on its first shakedown run out! Things can only get better ❤
Brilliant job on that, but looking at those roads I think the answer to your question about a better car has to be a Lancia Stratos.! I thought I saw a remarkably similar body shell on the wall of your workshop somewhere. An HF or Lister Bell repro?
Great to see Richard having so much fun after all the hard work on this project. Never cared for the Testarossa much. But a Teslarossa is another thing all together!
This icon of the 80s goes pretty well together with the "E-Sound". I did not see all their videos yet, but i imagine a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am "KITT" with electric motor would be a perfect match.
Apart from being technically improved in every way, I really like that 80s sci-fi-movie-car sound it makes now. 😁 Oh, if only the classic Ferrari Modulo and Bertone Stratos Zero concept cars was converted like this too - they finally would sound as futuristic as they look!
Think you've done a fantastic job mate, and thing that got my attention was the look, the stance, and the car is so much better looking with you having fit the bigger sized wheels and tyres. Ferrari should have had it leave the factory like this. Fits the arches so much better and simply looks amazing. Looking forward to the 0-60 times once you've set up suspension, traction control fitted and so on. Great content and keep it coming, loving it mate 👍
Gotta say, very odd not to hear it’s v12 song. But you know, I think you’ve improved it. Seriously. Well done! Not only have you improved the overall performance but you’ve also improved the maintenance aspect as well. 👏🏻 Can’t wait to see what it does after the suspension tune. 👍🏻🙂
I couldn’t agree more. Having driven it before and after the electric conversion it’s definitely a better performing car now it’s electric, with better handling and engaging throttle response.
Flying through all this beautiful scenery...without ripping your (or anyone else's) eardrums apart! This Testarossa deserved this upgrade! Now it's the world's BEST Testarossa. Even without traction control, that car is quick!
Loved the sound the vehicle makes, gave me a real thrill, must be so much fun to drive. I definitely want one, and really looking forward to seeing the rest of the build.
I would love to see a Fiat X1/9 converted. It's so tiny I'm not sure you could even do it. The X1/9 had to be the world's most unreliable car, but it was SUPER fun to drive. Electrifying it would be amazing. (And it would sure fit those narrow roads you mentioned when you asked us what we'd like to see on those roads!)
I'd like to see a Ferrari 288 GTO after you have gone over it. An Original Countache before the styling got to aggressive. The Ferrari Modulo concept needs an electric replica for sure. And for shits a giggles, the black Mack truck from Convoy. The Rubber Duck truck but lowered so the axels are above the chassis rails and the belly only 3 inches from the ground.
What would be better than the Testarossa on those roads? The Lancia Stratos? With electric power of course. Lovely car, now I need to watch the first six episodes, and the following.
I'm just patiently waiting till you release a kit for W140 Mercedes. PS: what is the estimated price for the Testarossa kit when it's finished and ready to be built on demand?
Seems like you've got a great car there, I'd love to see more 'awkward' old supercars like the Countach given the Tesla treatment. Has anyone ever asked for you to put some noise back? Still wondering what can be done with the original exhaust and different types of speaker.
The sound is only cool and likable because it is the result of something necessary -the engine - if you can have silence it is the better - most people prefer to not disturb others and advertise how fast they are going
Last car I drove up the Elan Valley was the Fox and that was a hoot on those little roads (even with it's diminutive 40bhp ICE). I'll get back up there with it some time.
I was wondering if the Testarossas your working on have been damaged in thier history or have had thier engines blown and replaced. I do love that you don't do anything to the cars that can't be undone. What happens to all the parts? Does the owner take all the parts back and then get the engine and Trans rebuilt and then sealed up to keep in thier garage until the price of that flat 12 becomes sky high and someone blows thier engine?
What next: Delorean DMC12, minus the Renault bits and with the electric soundtrack instead, would be ace. Have the battery meter read in gigawatts... Or a Vector W8 - the cabin is basically a glorious fighter-jet inspired oddity, so you could have a crack at upgrading all the screens in it as well. Yeah, I know, they're hen's teeth rarities, but the looks support the update. Something long and low - a TVR Cerbera, with AWD and triple motors from a Plaid S - give the original Speed 12 or the couple of Aston Martin V12 recreations a fright. Something small and chuckable - how about a FIAT X1/9 or Mk1 MR2? See you at FCL in Harrogate next week?
Are you ever going to give this car back to the owners. 😂
Ummm. . .nope.
No reply, no ring-tone, nothing. Never to be seen again.
Test drive straight to his house 😂
"No." Is a complete sentence...
This is why ECC have converted several if them... 😁
The sound of the flat 12 is part of the 'rossas soul, surely...

What no fake broom broom noises 😮 ? excellent!
Watching the Teslarossa quietly go up the path is amazing - it _seems_ a part of nature in this quiet configuration.
Lovely job. You should ask the owner if he'd allow Harry Metcalfe to do a road test on it and compare it to his petrol version. I'd love to see that.
It sounds like a ship from Star Wars when it passes by. Its awesome. Original styling but nice and silent driving.
Thought the same thing!!
Still one of the best looking Ferrari’s of all time
better than new, excellent work ECC
Thanks 👍
Breathed new life into an amazing looking car let down by an antique engine. I absolutely love what you do with these and this was done to perfection.
Beautiful conversion Richard and crew.
Great work. You're actually breathing new life into old cars that could be very tricky to own with an ICE engine.
