    Yeah, Neil's a wicked player. Always liked his approach to solos. The guy just bleeds a melodic feel. Always had a killer tone. He's one of those great all around Pro Players that you just can't find anymore.

      His style and tone has always been so monsterous. That vibrato he gets even with bar chords are freaking insane. I remember as kid, my mother took me to see Pat and him play. Made such impression on my and guitar playing.

      12-58 gauge strings have lots of bass too. Maybe that's what he means.

    I was cursed long before you were born.
    But, Just the same, I think you misunderstood my intent.
    Pat and Neil are most definitely the King and Queen of Rock.

    Does anyone know (confidently, that is) what guitar Neil used on Jessie's Girl? I think his primary guitar at the time was his legendary BC Rich Eagle. I thought maybe it was a Strat being used because the sound is a bit thinner, but that could just be the amp or EQing... or perhaps the fact that the Eagle appeared to have coil tapping capabilities. Any ideas out there? Thank you, and rock on!

    I'm on a huge Neil bender, his work is amazing. His use of BC Rich inspired me to buy a Eagle.

    I'd love to know how Neil went about recorded Heartbreaker. Live off the floor then over dub? Or did they play to a click track? Or something else? Sure would like to know this.

    • @smokepeddler
      @smokepeddler 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He explains it in several interviews.
      He never uses a click track.
      He almost always records the first guitar track using the buddy system with the drummer. Then records the bass , vocals and other tracks separately. Very old school simple way to get big sound.

      @DK-ii5sc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@smokepeddler there it is. That is why when I loaded the song into Reaper and tried putting a click to it it wasn't possible.

      +Painter Dood Yes ....when I did sound and lighting I set him up and .. he had four combo amps aimed at each other and a mic in the middle off to the side of the stage. A line 6 pod rack....my god the tone...great clean but when he went to overdrive we all agreed it was the tone from hell.....great soundcheck

    Yup... an amp equipped with a "reverb tank" and 'a reverb knob'... ditch the tank / bypass it - it's another parallel gain stage... works wonders with my Acoustic 160
