    Nice, my question is can you edit direct using arcgis desktop without make the database in an entreprise geodatabase?

      no you cannot. also you cannot edit unless you have standard or advanced desktop license.

    Hi, I am still unable to not edit a layer. It only gives me that error, but I noticed yours had the other details about versioning.... any idea as to why I cannot edit still after click off in the versioning section?

    The Postgresql libraries folder contains shape files also

    thx for the show, but what are the differences between using shapfile databese and postegresql database ?I would like to see some sql queries using geodatabase

      there are many differences between shapefile and geodatabase : geodatabase is multiuser, provides sql queries, relations between tables, views, triggers, functions ......
