What I feel like I notice when they talk about the Changing Of The Guard is that those older players aren't exactly bad: Steph, KD, and LeBron are every bit as good today as the best players remaining in the playoffs. What's different is the teams around them are really bad. In the case of PHX and GSW it has a lot to do with the salaries/cap where the top guys are paid so much that it's difficult to sign anyone of value that may be out there and how the GMs have handled the assets: Back picks, bad trades, lack of picks, etc. These younger teams just don't have these problems (yet). If not for the fact that money or ego would get in the way, KD and/or LeBron could go to GSW, come off the bench, and that team would be dominant. It's less about age or talent than circumstances.
