Finding Dory cake topper: Hank the octopus model (septopus)

- How to make a Hank cake topper ( The octopus, or technically the septopus ) from the new Finding Dory movie. I make this cake model using modelling paste / gum paste, you could also use fondant / roll out icing and mix in some tylose powder to make it set a little harder.

This tutorial is amazing and it shows each step so thoroughly! I work with polymer clay, similar to fondant, and I am making Hank right now! Came out wonderfully! ❤️

Thanks for your awesome video. I just finished making Hank out of fondant and I used powder food coloring but I mixed it with water and it worked great! It came out shiny as well. I wish I could post a pic here so you can see it. Thanks again!

Thanking you for the amazing tutorial!!!!! Following your instructions, mine turned out pretty good! Not as nice as your but maybe with more practice I can get closer to yours. Mine was about 4" tall, unfortunately it ended up only about 2" tall because it oozed down while it was drying. Fortunately it is an octopus, and it still kept it's shape!!! It would be great if you have any suggestions how to avoid that in the future. Again, yours was a amazing!!! Thank You!

Here in the US, I cannot find modelling paste. We have fondant, gum paste, and modeling chocolate but I cannot find modelling paste. Where does modelling paste fall in this mix? I might be able to find a homemade recipe if it's worth it.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to make Hank for a cake topper (he will be a bit bigger than this one). So far I am leaning towards doing modeling chocolate or modeling chocolate/fondant mix.
Gum paste is what I'd use :)
