Looks like spektrum just released another radio that will flop like the dx6r.
& dx7 (air) tx.
The only thing it's missing is a camera to record your RC'S.
If it had a good camera, I would buy it at that price
700$ i can drop on the trail or on the road
I accidentally dipped my radio in water last week, crossing a rough current at a place I call the Falls. I drive one handed also while filming and saving my rig from going down the waterfall. i chose the hand with the 70$ radio to save the $800 truck instead of my $1000 phone so if I had something as fancy as this, it would limit my fun as I could not go to such places. Does seem legit but $700 isn't being competitive with what else is on the market. Thanks Joe 👊
Is the massive proprietary battery a selling point? What happens in 4 years when it doesn’t sell well and they discontinue it like horizon tends to do… does it run on AA?
It’s not proprietary. It’s a standard 1S, 3 cell LIPO you can buy for around 50 bucks. Even uses JST connector.
Not going to lie, that's an absolute beast of a battery which you don't get with any other brand, and the hall effect steering and trigger is a nice option also. That said, I'm not sold on it, especially considering the cost of their receivers. I do like to see companies innovate, so I sincerely hope this isn't a flop, but it's too rich for me.
Mt12, $150 with battery, & binds to any rx made worldwide 🤷♂️
@old-rcplane-phart I just checked amain, and it does not come with a battery. That said, that really is one beast of a controller, even including the hall effect sensors like the Spektrum. Really is a steal at $150!
I'm gonna get one once the price drops to 499! And that ain't cheap!

What's the range for long distance GROUND FPV trucks?
This is a super cool radio i can't wait to see it in action and i wonder what the range will be like since i have a couple of on road speed cars like an Arrma Felony and a Traxxas XO-1 which is what i mostly will be using this for if i get one. I already have an RC8X but it's starting glitch on me and it has nowhere near the range as advertised so i'm looking at switch to a Spektrum and this radio gave me every reason to plan out the swap sometime next year.
You guys recommend this over that dx5 co troller ?

The custom mega battery is just to feed the "tablet" part of it. If it was 10k and feeding regular radio - OK, this is a feature, you charge it and go who knows how long, week or two. But here, what is the expected work time? Huge screen, whole Android running, online features. On anything less than 10K it will discharge just idling very fast.
It’s not custom. It’s a standard 1S 3 cell LIPO with JST connector. I actually had one lying around and tested it. Charged and ran just fine :)
I have a question for you Exocaged, Can you recommend any of Spektrum's digital computer radios like the DX6C to this new iXSR? I mainly want a Spektrum for the ability to bind straight to Arrma, Axial, Losi models, i also want it for the AVC features and i have been waiting for them to come out with a high end flagship model since the DX6R. I have owned an RC8X but i'm disappointed with signal quality and not getting the range as advertised.

Nice video, nice transmitter. But not for me. I have a Flysky and Radiolink that can do the same things. But for someone who is a Spektrum fan boy they will probably love it and enjoy it.
The radio looks impressive, but the price tag may hurt sales. I have a DX5 Rugged and a DX5C as a backup for half the price of this radio. The only thing on the new radio that would be a major improvement for me is the aux channel control knob for rear steer. I’ll let other buyers test how well the iXSR holds up.
Id rather use my gt5. Spektrum receivers to go with that ixsr arent cheap either. Hard pass

Honestly, I was hoping for something like this but at the price point it’s a no I’m super happy with my radio link rc8x plus $700 for an 11ms response rate is laughable
I’m loving mine. It’s outstanding performance with hall sensors and the UI is fantastic. I wish drive modes would save everything rather than a subset though. Folks waste thousands on aluminum upgrades in places that don’t impact performance but balk at a quality radio? SMH
Definitely a cool radio but $700? I don't know. In a world where you can get the MT-12 for $130 I feel like that's kind of a hard price to justify. I'm sure it will have its fans and I'm sure it's more user-friendly than the MT-12 but I don't know if it's $570 more user friendly.

I owned the ix20se. (Supposed to be the ultimate air tx. Period. ). It was the biggest pile of horse 💩 I've ever owned of everything rc in my 59 years.

Drag launch control. If it works its the only thing "new" really. Totally not spending $700 on a surface radio. Guessing this will flop as the only ones getting it will be youtube folks (for free) and some rich kids who parents have nothing else to buy them. My DX5c does nearly everything (as far as controlling the vehicle) this this does. HARD PASS!
