I didn’t know about that PV, but yeah, it's a sick word. So I think from now on, Imma use it as much as possible. I’m talking about the phrasal verb ‘to soup up.’ Tks a ton, R. 'n D. Slay pod. Love from Italy 🇮🇹.
First thing today I'm gonna sleep like a log with this amazing podcast,so All I'm saying is thanks once again Ray Ray ❤❤❤❤❤ with you it's possible for me to speak English confidently and fluently.
Hello 👋 Teacher . I love you So much ,I love your way of teaching, you're such a creative person ❤ Actually I'm in love with your podcast (I listened to each episode over and over again ,there are some episodes that I've memorized ❤.I don't just listen to it,I study each one❤ I hope to record more episodes again. Dear Rachel, My father wrote a textbook of American English for Foreign Learners back in 1979 ... However, due to the fact that the relations between the USSR and the USA were going through a rough patch at the time, the manuscript was turned down and its publication was strictly forbidden by the Communist educational authorities. My father passed away a long time ago but I still have that manuscript. I could type it up and email it to you in parts if you want absolutely for free. Obviously it's horribly behind the times and needs a lot of updating but I believe it might still be of considerable interest to teachers and students of American English. - SF Moscow, Russia
Enjoying this new format Rachel. 👍👍👍 Good job ... 👏👏👏 A few comments: "SALTY" I fee is similar to "Grumpy" it is more like a state of (somewhat permanent) being rather than a momentary state. I occasionally watch videos on a channel hosted on another platform called "The Salty Cracker" LOL 🙂 And in this case "cracker" doesn't mean a baked goodie .. "WOKE" it started as a term describing people who are aware about "The REAL WORLD" and how things work (RedPilled Cough Cough) ... Basically people who are aware of the Matrix and all that stuff. As the time went on however "Woke" was appropriated by the opposite group and now has the complete opposite meaning and basically it now means a "Radical Leftist" and NPC of sort. (If you don't know what an NPC is it comes from video games and those are Non Playable Characters basically non-entities). So right leaning people are referring to obedient citizens who trust the gov't as NPCs or Establishment foot soldiers etc. So in effect "woke" now means "asleep" There's a MEME in some circles "Go Woke Go Broke" it refers to big companies that try to push certain ideologies and then the customers boycott them . Gillette & Bud-Light being two notable cases. Third point: Your husband has a nice voice. It will probably be a good idea to use him more often in your training videos so that male EFL learners such as myself can use him as a reference. Nothing against your lovely voice of course 🙂...

I notice that I know a very few slang words. I only know "done" (tired with something), "dope" (drugs). I know "woke" meaning: far left, left extremist activists. But on videos in English, I rarely hear slang words or words with a slang meaning.
I have heard the word "sick" once earlier, with the meaning of awesome, good, impressive, amazing. This is quite interesting. Originally I learned the word "sick" with the meaning of: heaving a disease (often not serious disease, it could just be a fever or a common cold). It can be used with the meaning of having a psychiatric disease. There is another word that only refers to psychiatric diseases: insane. Then the semantic evolution: from having a psychiatric disease to something that is extremely or incredibly good or amazing.
you that read this, can you help me achieve my dream? I am Ahmed, and my dream is to master the English language, particularly the American accent. Therefore, I am looking for someone to help me learn and perfect my English, and in return, I will teach them Arabic if they are interested. If anyone is willing to help, please contact me privately.

Totally enjoyed it, Rachel. In depth, nuanced explanations. I don't use slang, myself; I'm the woke type that likes to be in the know, only.
