Probalbly also for me a very helpful video as I need to set up custom post types in my WP installation. However: 2 questions I have. 1. Will those files survive an update of GP or is the use of a Child Theme obligatory? 2. What is the software you use to dump and generate the additonal files into your webspace? I am so far using FileZilla and I am not aware the FZ can do all this. Sorry if those questions are a bit silly..... I am by far not a specialist on this. Thanks man Klaus
In this video the demo site is local. So file i drop in folder i am dropping using normal file manager on my computer. When I ftp, I also use filezilla. Code editor is sublime text. If I remember correctly I am not using a child theme in this video but an mu-plugin. This is best practice for non design related functionality such as custom posts and fields. Mu plugins have nothing to do with themes and do not get any automatic updates ... so they are safe for sure.

when the code is not related to design, then its preferable in the plugin. why? because then it must be related to the structure of the site, or the content. so later, if you change the theme, that remains unaffected.

I mean, you have some php error somewhere in the file. I cannot begin to guess which one, find the error, redo the code ... Also do not code php on a live site.

Hi, thanks for viewing. What is a "multiple metabox field"? Regarding other question, I don't use elementor, but it should work same like acf fields, just refer to the field same way you do with acf.

What do you mean by "inside wordpress"? This is wp code, only written a bit faster using a web app code generator. Cpt and custom fields code is really standardized and formulaic. In such cases we are best to generate such code instead of writing it. You write code that needs creative thinking, code that is almost entirely the same each time ... just generate. Thats my perspective.
