took my kids to this concert for their first show they were funking up a turn n dub and I looked to my left and my daughter is screaming over everyone and to my right my youngest son is dancing his little ass off thank you UMFNRX my favorite memory as a father due to your perfection of improvisation keep funkn
First saw them 6 years ago in Muskegon, MI and they wiped us out. Then, played live, impromptu to the 4th of July fireworks display. They have grown substantially since then. Saw they 2 years ago in Lansing...WOW!!! Wish I could follow them around...but, have actually become too old to do that. Enjoy this amazing band, folks.
Never heard these guys before. By about 13 mins in I'm fully hooked. Then 13:35 happens and I'm like, "where's the next show?" lol EPIC. I've found a new band. Something I haven't done in many years. Thank you to whoever uploaded this 😘
+Leather Louis YES!! You are most welcome!! They are hands down my favorite band, I'm an Umphreak for life. I just saw three nights in a row in Florida and have uploaded videos from those three shows to my page, check em out! Thank you!! \mm/
+Leather Louis I got hooked after my first show back in 2005- instantly became my favorite band and they keep getting better just when I thought their abilities have peaked. I go to as many shows as I can afford, but it's never enough since I'm on the west coast. World class musicians regardless-
Nice to hear these Domers play so well. I'd love to hear them at the New Orleans Jazzfest at the Fairgrounds, I know they've played down here, but I just missed them their last time in town. Keep on Jammin' .
These guys kick it ... just new to listening to them ... really like that the entire show is scored out not to mention the individual parts ... in ways reminds me of what Zappa did Live at the Roxy ... also really like the program (by minutes recording time) which is tagged to video (I can start to recognize parts/songs I like) ... thanks to who ever shared this ... it's awesome!
+Mg M Thank you! Welcome to the Umph family! Check out my playlist of the 3-night Florida run they did a few months ago - th-cam.com/play/PLpwkWhep1AdIKF7T_0YBwcWPRV15k-LtM.html
My brother just turned me onto these guys today. Immense talent, but what truly stole my heart was the "Thunderkiss 65" riffage at 41:06. These guys bring the tingles.
1. I'm going to write a bit about the Fort now. When we began the evaluation process of the site, it was all systems go from the city 2. of Fernandina Beach & the park officials. We were trying to raise money FOR the park, it was a mutually beneficial situation. 3. Most issues were addressed at the site visit earlier this month, however there were some community members that decided to drum up 4. as much chatter & actually write letters to city officials, churches & the police about how we were essentially the devil taking over. 5. They obviously aren't that familiar with our fanbase, who by and large, are respectful, intelligent people who like to have fun together. 6. We were told the contract was canceled 2 days ago and have been working tirelessly to find an amenable solution to the putting on a show. 7. We know how much our fans & Lettuce's fans wanted these shows to happen. The worst thing to do would be to cancel it outright. 8. We tried every way possible to make the Fort happen at Ft. Clinch but in the end, were flatly told "it's not going to happen.” 9. Would have loved to help Ft. Clinch raise some $, play in a historic fort, etc., but the deal would have been worse for the fans. 10. We found an arguably better replacement venue that will address most of our fans needs & give everyone the shows they want to see.
I hear bits reminiscent of: Grateful Dead Phish Incubus Spin Doctors Zappa Collective Soul Stone Temple Pilots Talking Heads I wonder how many of these are influences?
tibschris They are what I have dubbed a "musical circus". No point in even trying to box them into a sound because they will break out of it in 3 minutes haha.
If i recall, they were going to have a magical event at The Fort, and then some crazy came out and denounced the bands as a bunch of satan worshipers or something.. Here I found it. Joels words... 1. +Michael Young i think it's a little different at the show compared to on recordings. whenever I'm at the show the double bass from the drummer Myers really comes through but never seems to on recordings
They are not the best vocally. Although when Jake is singing, its pretty damn good. But their lyrics/singing play a role in keeping everything fresh., for if it were all music like STS9 and others, as cool as that is, they arent umphreys. Umphreys is ROCK, so singing is a must, and for the most part, it works very well. Their lyrics are thoughtful, well polished, they improv the lyrics often, so ya.. I like their singing, but there are much better vocalist in the industry. Depending on the show, they know this, and keep the singing to a minimum and open up the instrumentals and funky jams.
You guys are joking, right? Bayliss has one of the best voices in the business, not to mention they write lyrics that speak such truth, lyrics that anyone can relate to in some way. Your guys' ears must be broken!!!!
OK this like, NEEDS to be addressed..... Has no one else noticed the demon shit at the beginning at somewhere around 6:00 ????? DON'T WATCH THIS ON DRUGS PEOPLE LOL
+James Ricciardi Just speaking from experience. I know a fare number of Umphree's die hards. They live for drugs and shows. Their not there to appreciate the composition or musicianship. Just dancing while tore up on who know's what. Same thing goes for string cheese and most of these a million licks a minute type bands.

I don't think I've ever had as much fun at a show.

By far the most instrumentally talented band in the modern music sphere. Just bought tix to see them in Providence RI!
such smooth transitions from song to song---TIGHT
They're just incredible players that can switch between styles seamlessly and they never cease to make me lose m'self in a listening session.
Nice to hear these Domers play so well. I'd love to hear them at the New Orleans Jazzfest at the Fairgrounds, I know they've played down here, but I just missed them their last time in town. Keep on Jammin' .
So Great! They never stop amazing me, its like they never do anything wrong ever!
doesn't get much better than Umphreys
No need to make blanket statements or comparisons. UM is awesome and a person is never disappointed by anything they do. Gotta love that!
TheSoberGoat strikes again. Thanks.

Pretty good for a bunch of Notre Dame grads ..... Go Irish!
who is the person that left a link for this and other albums by this band on a BuzzFeed post of x-rays of weird stuff found in peoples butts.?
btw what ever happened to the umphreysfknrocks t-shirt that I used to see or the socks with the same I'd love to load my dresser
I hear bits reminiscent of:
Grateful Dead
Phish
Incubus
Spin Doctors
Zappa
Collective Soul
Stone Temple Pilots
Talking Heads
I wonder how many of these are influences?
+tibschris Most, if not all of those. They draw influence from a ton of different places.
That is the answer I was really hoping to see.
+tibschris and tool
Mannheim steamroller maybe
tibschris They are what I have dubbed a "musical circus". No point in even trying to box them into a sound because they will break out of it in 3 minutes haha.
Tom Morello plays Prog Rock? :D
One of my favorite live bands. Umphrey's fans might also dig Mad Pow

Look at that G&L Comanche, I want!
I think Jake is an amazing player. I just wish they wouldn't mix him so much louder than the rest of the band.
+Michael Young i think it's a little different at the show compared to on recordings. whenever I'm at the show the double bass from the drummer Myers really comes through but never seems to on recordings
Theses guys are great listening to records, but nothing compares to hearing them live at a good venue.
All I gotta say is.... Shhhheeeeeiiiitttttttttt
I feel bad for joel cuz nobody comes to jam with him over in the corner :/
Jake strolls over all the time and takes over a keyboard every so often. And then creates masterpieces.
killah maggilah.
Joel's keys sound like Watermelon Man at 1:10:43 ish
+Mercer Pickens Even a little Booker T and the MGs ish
Eh the vocals are rough man

It's just so random.
its part of what makes UM well...UM! Enjoy
This music makes me not want to have ears.
makes me want more
I feel bad for your extra ears
no need to, man. also side note, if you don't like it, dont listen :)
sounds like an infomercial
ويييييعع مخيسه وسخيفه مثل اللي اهداني اياها ههههههههه
This is just music for kids to do drugs too. Where did the real music go? We need music with SOUL
+BigMO you realize the guy who posted this has sober in his name right?

+BigMO u sound like a complete drag. You do you and let others do themselves
